Proflight Zambia says the bestowing of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Presidents Recognition Certificate Award on Zambia will have positive impacts on the country’s economy.
Proflight Zambia Director of Government and industry Affairs Capt. Phillip Lemba says the award will improve Zambia’s economic growth and boost foreign exchange by instilling confidence in Zambia’s aviation Sector.
ZANIS Business reports that Capt. Lemba in a statement today said that the award is welcome as Zambian civil aircraft will now be allowed into European air space.
Proflight believes that this development will boost inflows in the tourism sector and will woo investors to come invest using a local airline such as ours, Capt. Lemba says.
He has further commended the government on being awarded the ICAO President’s Recognition Certificate award in acknowledgment of the country’s strides towards transforming its aviation sector.
Capt. Lemba also thanked Government and other key Stakeholders for their efforts made towards the establishment of the Civil Aviation Authority Act of 2012 which acts as a center piece in promotion of quality aviation services in the country.
“ As a local airline we are happy to state that we comply with the act making us the most preferred airline in the nation, “he said.
He said the establishment of the Act was a timely move to improve Zambia’s aviation sector and in Compliance proflight has held internationally recognized robust programs that include all staff members to ensure a high level of secure and efficient aviation systems.

This is fantastic move, as a frequent fly I have always complained of not having direct flights from Zambia to Europe. This will be of great benefit to all of us who frequently have meetings out side the country. It will also I believe reduce the cost of air tickets as we will be able to fly directly into Europe as opposed to go via other African countries as it is currently prevailing.
We wish to enjoy the time of BA airlies when we used to leave Zambia in the morning and arrive same day late afternoon at London Heathrow. Well done, I am excited about this achievement. God bless your airline
