Vice President Inonge Wina says it is important that the nation finds and promotes peace and reconciliation as individuals, within families and neighbourhoods.

Ms. Inonge noted that the peace that the country has continued to enjoy is as a result of God’s love and favour for the nation hence the need to always seek God’s face and call upon His name in all we do and go through.

The Vice President said this at the celebrations of the National Day of Prayer, Fasting, Repentance and Reconciliation in Lusaka today held under the theme “Repentance: Promoting Peace and Reconciliation- Consolidating National Unity in Diversity.”

She added that all leaders in the country have the responsibility of promoting peace and reconciliation in order to strengthen national unity and diversity as reflected in the country’s motto of “One Zambia One Nation.”

And the Vice President said government is grateful that with God’s guidance, the Church and other religious organisations have continued to foster dialogue on various national issues.

She stated that it is because of this that government will continue to seek counsel and listen to the voice of reason on many national matters so that the country can remain united and move forward as one.

Ms. Wina said the coming together of the nation in prayer today is to ask God to continue sustaining peace and to help the country to work together for its good.

And Vice Chairperson for National of House Prayer Advisory Board Pukuta Mwanza noted that Zambia being a Christian nation has become a national emblem of national commitment to God.

He added that if not God is not for us then the country will be without hope hence what will exalt the nation is not the economic or political standing or good conditions of service but the righteousness of God.

Rev. Mwanza noted that the country have learnt the greatness of God through the many answers to the prayers brought before Him and therefore it is important to understand that Zambia is being sustained by prayer which is also a unifying factor.

Meanwhile, Lusaka Province Minister Japhen Mwakalombe said today is an important day as the country has to come together as a nation and put aside all the differences.

He said President Edgar Lungu has continuously indicated that Zambia shall remain a Christian nation and thus the declaration still stands.

The Minister noted that the Church and government are inseparable as they both are concern about people’s lives hence government will continue partnering with the Church in developing the nation.

  1. totally agree with your post…Lungu is a master manipulator he knows that everyone is talking about the corruption and the thieving going on in the country…this is why he decided to call for the National prayer day.but I can assure you that the only people that went for fake prayer day…belongs to the PF..Lungu has failed to Rule the country and my eyes he has failed as a leader he fooled everyone with the 2015 prayers people are now realizing that. This guy is a phony and everything that comes out of his mouth is all fake news

    • Lungu has left all these foo.lish Zambians with there eyes closed and he’s off to Congo for the usual mischief. I can see one of them even raising his hand. For him it’s business as usual, globetrotting into the unknown dark world of his.

  2. It was a waste of time, God had nothing to do with this pretend prayers.
I hope you all repented, deal with the moral decay and the corruption before you involve God.

  3. “HYPOCRISY OF THE WORST KIND”
Where are all these Pastors when millions of $ Dollars are being looted and citizens being harassed for speaking up?
Unless you stand up against these injustices, you have no right/integrity to go up on that national stage and ask us to listen to you and pray.

  4. WE SHOULD HAVE ANOTHER DAY OF FASTING AND PRAYER….. BEING IN HIS PRESENCE IS WHAT WE DESIRE MORE….BUT TO OTHERS, FASTING AND PRAYERS OFFENDS THEM…

  5. I know that she just read the speech which was written for her; we expected her to promote peace before Mapenzi was killed but she has been a disappointment to women and to mothers;after prayers PF cadres will go back to violence again; prayer is being used by PF for their political belly survivor only;

  6. very MISERABLE FACES in the picture is this what Zambia has become , a people of NO HOPE for the future, once very handsome and beautiful faces turned into ugly morons , with skewed mouths ,simple pathetic. HH please come to our rescue try to rekindle the petition maybe we can go for a repeat election like in kenya failure to which 2021 is yours . I WISH U GODS PROTECTION UNTIL U RULE ZAMBIA

  7. It’s was like rich insensitive man who visits a famished family and friends only to urge them to kneel with their malnourished and thin legs down in prayer then hopped back into his Mercedes Benz without leaving them a penny for food or anything. Let Inonge and her boss do proper penance in secrecy for all the dubious political illegalities mared with corruption first. For the poor, anxious, hopeless, sickly, broke and unemployed Zambians, they pray and fast involuntarily every day. Rubbish

Let Inonge and her boss do proper penance in secrecy for all the dubious political illegalities mared with corruption they committed after Micheal Sata’s death and during the previous elections first. For the poor, anxious, hopeless, sickly, broke and unemployed Zambians, we do pray and fast involuntarily every single day. Rubbish
