Lesotho Under-20 coach Leslie Notsi has hailed the organisation of the 2017 COSAFA Youth Championship staged in Kitwe, Zambia.
The regional junior championship ended on Saturday with South Africa as champions after edging Lesotho 2-1 in the final at Arthur Davies Stadium.
“It’s been a great tournament. We would like to thank the local organising committee for a job well done. The hospitality has been great,” Notsi told journalists after the final.
South Africa coach Thabo Senong branded the tournament as great and also saluted his boys for emerging winners.
“It’s been a great tournament. For us Zambia is our second home as South Africans,” Senong said.
“I am very proud of our boys. We knew when to defend, attach or delay,” he said.
Egypt won bronze after thumping fellow guests Uganda 3-1 in the third-fourth play-off earlier on Saturday at Arthur Davies.
