    • I heard about this sad news a few days ago and as far as I’m informed from sources here, efforts to get two of her relatives (an aunt and a niece) from Zambia to attend the funeral are already underway.

    • @Chale has given better information that Kellys and Mukwita.
Infact when I saw that picture, I thought it was Kellys, then saw name Mukwita I thought it was him, then sadly it was a woman.

    • BECAUSE ZAMBIA HAS NO IDEA ABOUT HOW MANY ZAMBIANS LIVE IN WHICH COUNTRY ABROAD OR OVERSEASLET ALONE EVEN A ROUGH FIGURE OF HOW MANY ZAMBIANS LIVE OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY. THE TWO MINISTRIES OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND (THE MINISTRY OF) INFORMATION HAVE BEEN GROSSLY MISMANAGED EVER SINCE ZAMBIA STARTED EXISTING.

    • First Secretary for Press at the Zambian Embassy in Berlin Germany Kellys Kaunda gets a salary for sending such statements at most once a every 3 months. Do we need these officers at our Embassies?

    • MY EXPERIENCE OF OUR EMBASSY OR HIGH COMMISSIONS STAFF IS SAD.
IF YOU ARE AN ORDINARY ZAMBIAN THEY DON’T HAVE TIME FOR YOU

    • Full we are all one, tribe and region does not matter.
Her family is in mourning and all you care for is her tribe, damn it!

    • Oh yes you cool! In other countries they don’t allow you to get citizenship until you demonstrate to be a citizen at heart. But Zambia people get citizenship and become citizens on paper whilst getting the benefits of it

  1. Iwe Kellys Kaunda write like a journalist. Give us all the details not snippets. Whats her age? What has she died of? When did she emigrate? etc etc

  2. Is this the same Kellys Kaunda who used to do media review on Hot FM not too long ago? The guy used to be pro-PF but refused to admit it even when listeners complained about it. Political demagogues hoodwinking the people. Your time will.

  3. Pheew ,that’s scary and familiar it reminds me of when we lost a young Zambian lady to cancer here in Atlanta in back in 2011.
May Ms Miriam Yenders rest in peace.

  4. Lets be realistic at times without blame games here. The embassies have an open door policy where one can visit. You can then notify them of your presence. Surely you dont expect the embassy to look for people all over. Visit them register yourselves. Use your Zambian associations where ever you are and register with the Embassy. Stop blaming people who are doing their jobs.

    • As one blogger has already said above, the level of service and attitude that one receives when you visit a Zambian embassy leaves much to be desired. It does not encourage one to register with them because they really dont seem to add any value to an ordinary Zambian residing in the diaspora.

    • I have interacted a number of High Commissioners here in Botswana since 1996. Some of them make their staff work. But, most of them don’t.

Some will even assist with the renewal of expiring passports while others will tell you it’s not your responsibility to arrange for a renewal with the passport office back home in Zambia.

And, they enjoy both Zambian and Botswana holidays!

  5. Some of you living abroad are illegal immigrants some don’t be to quick to blame government. Check you status and register regardless of the reception you are given period.

    • Mr. Sinkala the one who died is my aunty. She was married to a well to do German who unfortunately passed on two yrs ago. My aunty was got citizenship in German wher she has bn living fo so many yrs. Its unfortunate that she collapsed ad thats hw she met ha fate. The family members ar make arrangment to go ther. Hop its clear nw

  6. Zambian Embassies abroad do not connect with Zambians. You visit the embassy and introduce yourself but that is just time wasting. Comparatively with other embassies from Africa Zambia and Uganda are the worst in terms of uniting citizens abroad.

  7. Bane the person who died is a Zambian with relatives. It may sound as tho relatives ar nt known when in the actual sense ar knwn. They ar biz makin arrangements to fly to German. Hence i see no need of them comin to this blog to giv full detail. Ba Mirriam may your soul rest in peace. Thank you.
