It is understood that Zambia striker Brian Mwila is absent from Platinum Stars with the blessings of the club.
The Zambia striker has failed to return from the Christmas break to the struggling South African Premier Soccer League sides that he joined last August on a three year deal from Green Buffaloes.
Media reports from South Africa quoting Platinum coach Rodger De Sa say Mwila has gone AWOL.
“He is trying to sort out his future and there has been communication with the club on this matter,” a source familiar with the development said.
Mwila was one of the big revelations of 2017 during Wedson Nyirenda’s Chipolpolo revamp while the striker was still at Buffaloes.
He finished 2017 as Chipolopolo’s top scorer with eight goals from nine games
However, things have not gone according to plan at Platinum where his initial stay has been fraught with injuries and has yet to break his PSL drought.
That is a problem with Zambian players. They are too fast to sign contracts with small clubs.
If he had stayed at Green Buffalo he could not have been injured.
South Africa, Morocco or Egypt is not good for Zambian players, please ba faz the young man Brian mwila before his career is wasted.
Help the young Zambian players not to rush in signing to play in these countries.
Ba kamanga nchito yabadwa, talk to those players at the Chan tournament not to remain in north Africa. Prevention is better than cure.
