President Edgar Lungu says he is dismayed by Patriotic Front (PF) members who have chosen the path of destroying the mandate of the ruling party.
President Lungu said genuine PF members should abide by the party constitution and regulations.
ZANIS reports that Mr. Lungu attributed the party’s founding member Michael Sata to being disciplined as opposed to being swayed away from political doldrums.
Mr. Lungu who is PF Party President said, he is disappointed with some founding party members, who have allegedly started devolving the party’s manifesto to the public, instead of respecting the values of the party.
President Lungu said the late Mr. Sata was a visionary and staunch PF member through-out all his prouncements and should therefore, be emulated.
“I’m surprised by some of our members who have chosen to detract the PF structures and yet calling themselves PF members,” he said.
Mr. Lungu pledged to carry on with the late Michael Sata’s vision of decentralization and developing Zambia as a whole through effective dialogue.
The Head of State who disclosed this in Kanchibiya district, vowed to weed out ‘disgruntled’ members from the PF who, are destroying the good image of the ruling party.
“I’m very disappointed that some of our party members are now destroying the values and principles of our party,” the President said.
President Lungu said he will continue to engage stakeholders such as Chiefs, the Private Sector and Civil Society Organisations in developing the nation in line with the vision of late party founding father, Mr. Sata.
Mr. Lungu who has called on Zambians for support in executing his duties stated that he has not derailed from the late Republican President’s aspirations
