Zambia’s Ambassador to the U.S Ngosa Simbyakula says Zambia’s tourism sector has potential to contribute greatly to the growth of the country’s economy.

Dr. Simbyakula said this when he visited the Zambian stand at this year’s Washington DC, Travel and Adventure show over the weekend which attracted over 25000 attendees.

In a press statement made available to ZANIS today, Dr. Simbyakula said the travel shows provide an opportunity for the travelers to congregate, learn, plan and book their next holidays.

Dr. Simbyakula however, noted that it is gratifying to see the Embassy’s participation at the show.

He further urged the Zambia Tourism Agency (ZTA) to regularly avail the Embassy with current promotional materials and information to satisfy the U.S market.

And First Secretary Tourism Marsha Holdway said Zambian booth attracted a considerable number of tour operators, travel Agents, travel writers and journalists among others.

She advised tourists wishing to come to Zambia on Safari and see the Victoria Falls to visit various tourist sites in the country and enjoy the hospitality the industry offers.

Meanwhile, Sustainable Tourism Development President Scott Wayne who participated in developing Zambia’s Tourism Policy through the World Bank said it is satisfying to see that Zambia’s tourism policy is being implemented as evidence by Zambia’s presence at this year’s show.

The travel and adventure show is the biggest travel event in Washington DC and one of the top five in the USA.

    • Zambia the real Sh1thole zoona!

How long have we known this mwebantu?

Just work, work the plan and walk the plan, then tell us what’s worked.

Dr do you want to make yourself feel that you are workin?

We know about this just like people always sing that Zambia is endowed with a lot of natural resources! Who doesn’t know that?

      Rule number 1 for government

      #1 work the plan
      #2 walk the plan
#3 check if it working, if not go back to #1
      #4
#5 if it is working, could me out and talk to us like you just done now

      Lekeni ukubosa… iyabosa taisuma!

  1. Simbyakula when are you going to pay back our money for illegally staying on minister? Useless man …Dr Simbyakula was viewing for the Muchinga seat on the PF ticket equally failed to lodge in his papers after arriving late at the nomination papers…really laughable!!

  2. The sad part is that Zambia is still waking up from sleep concerning tourism; take example of Vic falls; the Zim town of Vic falls is better maintained; the walking tracks to the falls are better maintained than our side; hotel charges are too high; food is too expensive; safety is an issue; street vendors are all over; after the cholera they might be back; street kids are all over instead of rounding them up and taking them to national service; you think many tourists will come? I doubt;
