PF secretary general, Davies Mwila has warned civil servants in Southern province to work with the ruling party or
risk being sacked if found wanting to frustrate government’s development strides.

Speaking when he addressed party officials at Drive Inn in Kalomo yesterday, Mr. Mwila lamented that it was saddening to learn that some
unnamed civil servants in the region were reportedly frustrating government’s development agenda in the ruling party’s manifesto.

“Any civil servant that would be found to frustrate and intimidate governments efforts towards developing this nation would be dealt with
accordingly, even district commissioners as civil servants should work with the ruling party and if they do not support the party, we have no
option but to part company with them,” the PF party chief warned.

He was reacting to concerns raised by party officials in Dundumwezi and Kalomo central constituencies respectively where it was alleged that some
civil servants in the areas were frustrating the ruling party’s development aspirations as contained in its manifesto.

On the other hand, , Mr. Mwila has thanked the people of Southern province for giving the PF over 44, 000 votes in the last general elections where
the presidential race in Dundumwezi constituency had the PF garnering a paltry 252 votes against the opposition UPND with over 30,000.

He appealed to the party leadership in the area to strengthen the local structures in preparation for the 2021 elections and promised to provide mobility
utilities such as bicycles and motorbikes to the party in Kalomo District.

The party chief also urged party officials to emulate President Edgar Lungu’s disciplined behavior and desist from violence acts when
confronted by the opposition.

Meanwhile both the Kalomo central and Dundumwezi constituency PF leadership assured Mr. Mwila that the party is still vibrant in the
area despite having recorded the dismal votes in the last general elections with district chairperson, Luke Mwenya claiming that the
party would work hard to ensure that the Dundumwezi precedent do not repeat itself.

The PF secretary general is Southern province on a fact finding tour in an effort to strengthen party structures and address on their
operational hurdles. He is accompanied by some PF members of the central committee and the provincial party leadership.

  1. Civil servants work for GRZ, not PF. It should be made clear that PF is not Govt, and Govt is not PF. I know many PF members will fail to understand this Distinction.

    • I’m getting confused here..is it working with the government or the ruling party? I think it will be easier for me to understand if Mr. Mwila can separate PF party and Government.

  2. Davies is SG for the PARTY and cannot therefore go giving warnings to GOVT WORKERS. He can warn PARTY CADRES but NOT Govt workers….PERIOD. The Govt is not for PF but for the people of Zambia including those who belong to other parties

    • Have watched voice of America on several occasions, and i have never seen video clips of new York City democratic party or republican party youth chairmen, Secretary general (whatever they call them that side) of republican party or democratic party, women chairperson for repub or demo party, how do these guys manage to separate party time with serious government work, is just mind boggling.

  3. President Edgar Lungu to get tough on Ministers, Davies Mwila warns civil servants in Southern province, There goes the chipatepante govt of Jonathan. By the way where if Given Lubinda, is he plotting or what. Then again he might be praying for the new ministerial role in the office. Lubinda come out of your shell things are brewing and JONATHAN is wrecking things up. re you part of it/

  4. Does he know the difference between his party and GRZ? he will soon know the difference once pf is out of power. For now let the mouse play.

    • You do not need to live on earth. Go to a place where there is no diversity, if at all you will find one. You are a beast and dirty tribal bigot.

  5. Tongas are experiencing what they planned to do to their friends as they are known backbiters, now they are testing their own medicines which they prepared for the tribes they dont like. They are crying like babies everyday in their tabloids

  6. Mu tonga ni mu tonga baba!!Davis Mwila must just ignore southerners.most of those guys are die hard tribalists who consider Kainde as their god!!many civil servants in southern are pro UPND and nobody will change them anytime soon.
Maybe in 2021,Zambians should vote for Kainde so that we can see if life for all tongas will change once Kainde is in state house!!THESE PEOPLE IRRITATE ME A LOT!!

  7. This is exactly what upnd had planned to do to non Tonga’s in govt institutions and they normally apply it in markets, police, hospital and when a non Tonga is renting from them you are evicted if your show support for pf, this is there scheme,we are feeling it at grassroots level sir the SG if those following you by venture of there positions in pf are also on the other side be careful, set another group to interact with the grassroots you will be shocked

  8. Mwila his very right what he says about civil servants it’s true because am one of them here in southern province seeing government doing it’s efforts but our seniors channeling the resources in their own benefit, that’s why here in southern province development his not moving these a problem I would like to see development like ndola or kitwe. Am disappointed concerned civil servant.

    • Are you on the same wavelength with your president ha chilufya, your president is just from muchinga complaining about stalled projects, and was wondering why similar projects have reached completion in southern province. Is you ha chilufya and mwila saying your president issued a wrong statement, how does he condemn civil servants who have finished projects on time.

  9. Clan based thinking is what keeps Africa in the past! SG of PF is overstepping his authority here. He is the wrong chap to talk about government matters. He is simply a party functionary. That role is for the provincial minister! In any case, this warning comes because police there refused his request for police escort. SG, people of all clans don’t bother to listen to individuals who don’t show respect to others. Be civil and learn to embrace diversity! We rejected the PIG arrangement in 1991.
