Pirates raid Zanaco for Augustine Mulenga

Share

Zambia midfielder Augustine Mulenga has joined Oralndo Pirates from Zanaco.

The 2017 Zambia Footballer of the Year has joined the South African club on a three-year deal.

“We are delighted to have finally secured the services of Augustine. He is an accomplished player who has all the qualities to make an immediate impact at the club,” Pirates administrative officer Floyd Mbele said on the clubs website.

“I would like to thank Zanaco management for their professionalism during negotiations.”

Mulenga, who was Zambia’s stop scorer at 2018 CHAN on three goals, becomes Pirates second Chipolopolo signing in six months after striker Justin Shonga who joined from Nkwazi last August.

  1. Bad move, will they ever learn these Zambian players? Go to France not SA. Going to SA is the beginning of the end for any footballer.

    • …and where are you based MM731? (No ill intention here).

Perhaps it has been his dream to play for Pirates all the while,
      who knows!

Lets not have our wishes and desired manifestations super-imposed
      on our colleagues.

    • MM731, I bet you are one of those that fought hard to go to England or USA and just ended up flipping burgers at McDonalds. For you what matters is that you are ku vyalo.

    • It’s not a bad move, how many players have played at pirates and now playing overseas, France my foot ask Sunzu what happened in France. The luck of ambition kills the players, if he can use pirates as a stepping stone it could work for him.

  2. A complete player. Zanaco will miss him but another will rise. The talent is Zambia is at quiet a high..not so much on the coaches’ side though.

  3. Congratulations Augustine. But reduce on selfishness. My honest description of you is that you are good but selfish. Learn to pass the ball. You cost us at the just-ended CHAN. I hope the people getting involved with you take this point.

No ill wishes but I thought I should be honest so that you can change.

  4. @Chitapankwa,

Augustine did not cost us the Chan tournament if you watched all the games in which he featured. He came out as one of Zambia’s outstanding players apart from Ziyo Tembo, Fackson Kapumbu, Simon Silwimba, Donashano Malama and Kambole. At 28 years of age, time in making a move is of the essence for Augustine. There is not much football in his legs for him to keep on waiting and earning less at ZANACO than he will get at Pirates. If he does well, he may still get a better offer outside South Africa.

  5. Ni France Ya Nyoko or Ni Augustine wa nyoko?

CONGRATULATIONS TO AUGUSTINE! At 28 it’s not easy to secure professional football even in Kuwait or Mauritius. Its accomplished or renown players who are usually bought.

  6. WHAT ARE THE TRANSFER FEES? I DONT TRUST AUGUSTINE THOUGH HE IS MY SON BORN FROM MY WOMB, HE WILL NOT DISCLOSE TO ME THE MOTHER THE TRUTH , BETTER YOU JOURNALIST INFORM THE WHOLE NATION HOW MUCH THE BOY WILL BE GETTING, IT WAS VERY PAINFULL TO GIVE BIRTH TO HIM U KNOW SO I DONT WANT HIM TO BE SPENDING MONEY ON GIRLS WHO WILL ABANDON HIM LIKE JOHNSTONE BWALYA
