Copperbelt Patriotic Front (PF) Chairperson Steven Kainga said President Edgar Lungu is next week expected in the province.

ZANIS reports that Mr. Kainga noted that President Lungu is expected in the province on the 10th of February 2018 to grace the fundraising dinner for the construction of the new PF offices.

Mr. Kainga who added that the party currently has no office of its own also stated that the Head of State will in the morning Grace the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the new offices and later in the evening officiate at the fundraising dinner.

And the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) has today officially launched its 2018 Party mobilisation program for the Copperbelt province at a colourful ceremony held in Lufwanyama District at Lufwanyama Secondary School.

Speaking at the launch, were he was accompanied by several PF Copperbelt Members of Parliament, Mayors, Council Chairpersons, Councillors and senior Party officials from all the 22 constituencies on the Copperbelt, Party Secretary General, Hon Davies Mwila said that the PF has launched its mobilisation program because it strongly believes that the strength of the party is dependent upon the strength of its grassroots structures adding that a party that does not increase its grassroot base cannot survive the current competitive political landscape.

Earlier, the PF chief paid a courtesy call on Chieftainess Shimukunani of the Lamba speaking people of the Copperbelt Province who expressed gratitude to the PF Government on the numerous developmental projects the PF Government has undertaken in the district such as the construction of civil servants houses, a district hospital, police stations and the Local Authority Adminstrative block among many others.

Mr. Mwila has since directed all PF Ministers, MPs, Mayors, Councillors and their compatriots to listen to and respect the party structures because they owe their ascendence to power to the party structures who elected them into office. “You my colleagues in Cabinet and Parliament and the Council cannot be in office without the party structures voting for you. So your allegiance must be to these ordinary men and women who have put you in office. You must have the humility to listen to them and continue to serve these people with vigour and courage. Today’s politics are extremely competitive and parties that do not have a robust program of mobilising their members risks extinction”, Mr Mwila said.

The Secretary General made a clarion call to the leadership of the party to work hard in recruiting new members to ensure the continued growth of the Party. “This party will only grow when we bring in new members. If we keep the party just amongst ourselves then it will not grow,” said Hon Mwila.

The Secretary General further took a swipe at non-performing party leaders saying that leadership is not about the position one holds but that leadership is about the ability to deliver. He asked those who have failed to deliver to step down and allow others to take up the responsibility of serving the Party. Hon Davies Mwila has further called upon the PF leadership to unite and embrace everyone saying that those political parties that are regional and tribal can not win national elections. He said the PF managed to form government because it is a party with a national character. The Party decisively won 7 out of the 10 provinces in the country’s 2016 general elections.

The Secretary General said that 2018 was a year of party mobilisation. “As I stated when we launched the same exercise in Chongwe District on behalf of Lusaka Province, 2018 is a significant year for the Patriotic Front. We are duty – bound to regroup, re-energise and re-launch ourselves for greater service delivery, party programing and membership recruitment. We have a duty to ensure that all Party structures are healthy and in possession of basic tools needed if we have to consolidate the gains we have made to this day,” Mr Mwila assured the officials.

Meanwhile the Secretary General on behalf of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and the Party gave out 2,640 PF branded bicycles to the PF Party Officials in a bid to ease the challenge of transport. He further promised to give Chingola Constituency Committee a vehicle for mobilisation.

And speaking at the same event, Hon Kampamba Mulenga who is Information Minister and Member of Parliament for Kalulushi Constituency assured the Secretary General that contrary to rumours and speculations mostly circulating on social media, the PF was intact in the province as evidenced by the complete structures from Ward up to the Provincial level who were present at the official launch.

Other senior PF leaders present at the launch included Hon Micheal Katambo of Masaiti, Hon Bowman Lusambo of Kabushi, Hon Matthews Nkhuwa of Chingola, Hon Frank Ng’ambi of Chifubu, Hon Chilombo Chali of Nchanga constituencies among others.

Hon Davies Mwila is expected to be in Kapiri tomorrow to officially flag off the mobilisation exercise in Central Province.

  1. Has Lungu completed the cholera elimination mobilization and the clean up of Lusaka yet? Party matters and 2022 campaigns should come much later right now the priority is to be as clean and free of cholera like Kigali city.

    • When UPND or Kabwili party members want to do the same, go out and mobilise, they are told they can’t do so bcz cholera is still on. HH was told so just a day ago by Chipata police. Where as PF, they can touch anywhere without the issue of cholera arising. This is very unfair and something has to be done about it…level playing field should be afforded to all political players.

PF have flagged campaigns and will stop t nothing until 2021..they will continue looting public resources for campaigns. A word to HH and Kabwili is that if they think they can defeat Chagwa by going it solo at presidential level, they will be in for a rude shock…he use all the dirty tactics again to get away with it, ie, pangas, POA, tribalism, stolen monies to campaign, violence..and even after have voted,…

    • stolen monies to campaign, violence..and even after people have voted, stealing of votes and burying some his opponents in grave yards.

The only way out to defeat pf is by the way of coming together by the opposition. Let Kambwili go as a running mate to HH and allow his party to feather his men to run as MPs in CB urbarn, Luapula, Northen, Muchinga while UPND should feather in their strongholds-this strategy will give the opposition an edge!

    • Are the Ministers on Leave?? This needs to be checked if at all they are officially on Leave otherwise this is further theft of tax payers money and government resources. Meanwhile after the Muchinga debacle the Humbly Dumbly has gone to seek some solace on the copperbelt.

    • President Lungu has one up his sleeve. Next Zambian general elections might not be in 2021 as it is widely pronounced but i am smelling an early general election! The PF wants to take the Opposition Parties by surprise by calling a SNAP ELECTION! I advise the UPND and NDC to up their game. Dont be caught on a wrong footing Mr HH and Mr CK.

    • Edgar is inconstant, he just started working 3 weeks ago; cholera clean up, then Muchinga province, central province, missed AU summit, and we praised him.
Now here goes again, 2021 fighting Kambwili.

  2. When we tell you Lazy LUNGU should have been a ward Councillor instead of Head of State…you think its a joke. There he is campaigning!!

  3. Electioneering and politics of 24/7 will definitely destroy us just like Odinga’s endless and dangerous political drama going on in Kenya. Lungu please focus on some serious work.

  4. Eyes of the vulture – first picture. wafwa na panga, Mulenga should play safe. DM bola pansi Malume.
    Morning beloved people, just joking

  5. Our structures are solid, but here you are mobilizing. This yet another social manipulating campaign. Hope there won’t be violence against opposition party members.

    • Of course there will be violence…..lungu can not win any election without violence and cheating……lungu is a corrupt thief that commands violent thugs whilst hiding behind an image of humbleness , with a bible in his back pocket ready to fool the gullible……all this while he loots his way to being one of the richest men in Zambia…..

  6. That’s how he is wasting so much money on his endless travels. Money which can be used to build even one structure . It’s just too much with these travels. It’s always from one province to another. We are tired. When is he going to sit down and rule.
Honestly just busy campaigning, he started campaigning just after the last election, he has been campaigning all this time. I don’t know how it will be when the campaign time comes.
Or is it a strategy to make money as per RB’ s advise. Literally looting the Country mercilessly .They are so shameless

    • No strategy whatsoever. So what will be their message in 2021?They will run out of things to sonta especially since they have bankrupted the nation. The only strategy will be intimidating opponents. This should have been time to work so that they sontapo in2021.But they are busy campaigning.

  7. Does it have to be him to work on structures . This is so costly for the poor Country.
With the curbing of Street Vending he could have been looking at how to create employment for them, say start a factory / industry….learn from Rwanda or Tanzania. His travels are just too much and too costly

  8. How does Lungu even sleep peacefully knowing that he is wasting taxpayers money at the expense of the poor? Handwork is the best and greatest campaign tool. Not jumping up and about everywhere. This guys is a mess and allover.

  9. When i stated about 6 months ago on LT that lungus gang at state house are entertaining the idea of selling national game parks many payed no attention…..but be very cautious people of Zambia , PF and lungu need money and are ready to strip the country of everything ………there is credible information that lungu has been told the easiest way to get cash is to mine for minerals in the game parks……we should refuse…..this should be left for future generations…..no matter what lies they come up with about eviriomentaliy friendly mining , this should not be allowed……

    • Mr lungu look into your heart and dismiss those baiting you to look at extracting minerals in our national parks……look in your heart for future generations…..leave something for them……..you have had your cake.

  10. From international gallivanting, its now domestic endless travels, when will our man of the mo sit down and think of ways on how to improve the living standards of our people?

  11. U can fool pipo sometimes but not all time pf died with the late President Bashi Chilufya may his soul rest in peace seeing tuchangalile plunder our money but your time will come remember Chiluba

  12. Fear has griped pf u will die like your friends MMD come Ku kopala and be welcomed by children na bakulu ba chipwena

  13. God please help us. This President does not mean well for the people, all he is concerned about is consolidating his stay in power.

  14. Some opposition parties are like pets, you set the agenda for them to comment. Otherwise they really have nothing to say.

  15. #1.4 Maikalange, there you go again up.ndees, you want an alliance with between NDC and upnd and Kambwili to be running mate to h.h. Why not h.h as running mate to Kambwili? Or better still let the two go for elections for people to choose the leader of the alliance or unity party. Or maybe Kambwili wrong tribe to head the unity party?
Anyway, how come up.ndees are comfortable with corrupt people as long as they can get some benefit from the same corruption?
No h.h no upndees, bushe ni party yamusango shani iyi ine such that it will not be there in 2021 because h.h will have retired by then?
