Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda has said that President Edgar Lungu is looking forward to holding talks with political parties and other stakeholders. Mr. Chanda said that President Lungu is in full support of the talks that are being spearheaded by the Commonwealth.

Mr. Chanda has told Journalists in Lusaka that the Head of state is willing to dialogue on issues affecting the country, adding that those who love the country should join the head of state in fighting divisive vices such as tribalism among others.

And an opposition political party has castigated political parties that are questioning the ability of the Zambia Centre for Inter Party Dialogue to facilitate inter party talks.

United Progressive People (UPP) leader Saviour Chishimba said that Zambians do not need foreigners to make them sit down and address the challenges facing the country. Dr. Chishimba said that the habit of rushing to foreigners every time there is a problem in the country should come to an end.

Dr. Chishimba told Journalists that the opposition should find time to engage government if the country is to move forward.

And Dr. Chishimba said there is no need for anyone to shun national events such as the Youth day. Dr. Chishimba said such days are important as they help the country to reflect on the sacrifice that was made by young people for the country to get its Independence.

Meanwhile, President Edgar Lungu has said that the ex-miners who were given land by government should be assisted to get title deeds. President Lungu’s special Assistant for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda said that the head of state wants this process to be concluded so that the ex-miners can start cultivating their pieces of land, adding that the move to empower the ex-miners is part of government’s programme of promoting agriculture among its citizens.

Mr. Chanda told Journalists that stakeholders will hold a meeting in the next few days to iron out issues surrounding the allocation of land to the beneficiaries.

Mr. Chanda also said that President Lungu wants young people to make good use of Information Communication Technology-ICT-by improving their lives and that of other people.

Mr. Chanda said that it is for this reason that the Head of state has instructed ZESCO and other relevant bodies to make internet services available to the people.

  1. Such an important pronouncement has to come from the President himself not delegating it to a chola boy

    • What is the commonwealth going to tell us that we do not know and understand?

The bitter person calling our presidents names such as ailing dictator Uriinee Bag… calling the current president a dirty drannnkaaardd thief from Chawama… his cadres call us PF Foooools, his wife calls Zambians coowards…

Remind me once again…. dialogue for what???

    • United Progressive People (UPP) leader Saviour Chishimba said that Zambians do not need foreigners to make them sit down and address the challenges facing the country. Dr. Chishimba said that the habit of rushing to foreigners every time there is a problem in the country should come to an end.”

Saviour the under5s will eat you alive for castigating them. They cant exist without foreigners. He is so happy that gambari is in the country for negotiations. Hh should just give up and allow others with strategy to take over.

    • Does anyone believe what Lungu says? Anyone???

First, it was: “there is no corruption in government”.

Then, there was: “I will not travel abroad this year”.

And through out, there is: “I am humble”, “I care for the people”

Can historians ERASE this man from Zambian history?

    • Why is Edgar only looking forward to dialogue with Political parties,
what about dialogue with us people??

    • The only reason the Commonwealth stepped in is because of leadership failure by Edgar Lungu. President Mwanawasa had dialogue with President Sata without the Commonwealth intervention. President Kenyatta invited Odinga to State house, despite the latter having sworn-in himself as the People’s president.

    • After the dialogue (he thinks that he is Donald Trump who has agreed to talk to the North Korean President Kim Jong-un), he will be on the plane to somewhere or he will say the country need to have national prayer. The trouble is he prays with one eye closed. LUNGU is as corrupt as they come according to KAMBWILI ANS KALABA his former senior Minister! Who am I to dispute that! Your excellence some people think you are the best thing that ever happened to Zambia. I don’t.

    • well said, seems like zambia pf govt is always coping from kenya.whenever kenyatta makes a progressive move,LUNGU#me too.

    • Lungu only knows VIOLENCE, abuse of public order act, abuse of Police, squeezing political opponents. He came into power using violent youths by raising of Pangas. Actually as Defence Minister, he got a battalion of commandos & infiltrated the PF convention. People were slapped & beaten at that convention.

2021 will be the most violent elections Zambia has ever witnessed as PF won’t go out without VIOLENCE. Best thing is for Concourt to quickly rule Lungu ineligible to stand for 3rd Term.

This Malawian called Lungu is the worst curse Zambia has ever had.

    • @1.11 Macgyver… I am not making up those words. Am sure you find them repugnant but that was your leader talking. Do not shoot the messenger.

Don’t hate, am telling it as it is. The problem with you guys is you want HH to say and do anything without calling him up on it.

No… we are going to call him up for who he is… A TRIBALIST!

    • I DO NOT SUPPORT THE BILATERAL TALKS (PF/UPNDEAD SUMMIT) I SUPPORT THE MULTILATERAL TALKS (PF/ALL OPPOSITION ELEMENTS IN THE LAND SUMMIT). I DO NOT SUPPORT TALKS WITH TERRORISTS. NEITHER DO I SUPPORT FOREIGN ASSISTED TALKS.
      ======================
Who the cap fits, let them worry.

    • Lungu and Nkrunzinza of Burundi are the same. Both are Alfa and Omega of the earthly paradise where immortals in their shallow thinking fail to see beyond their nose.

  2. What is the commonwealth going to tell us that we do not know and understand?

The bitter person calling our presidents names such as ailing dictator Urine Bag… calling the current president a dirty drunkard thief from Chawama… his cadres call us PF Fools, his wife calls Zambians cowards…

Remind me once again…. dialogue for what???

    • Contrary to popular misconception, HH is not seeking audience with ECL for a chance to reside at plot one, rather to agree to free ECZ from PF control. To facilitate a divorce between ZP and PF cadres, among other commonsensical matters that are not common sense to ECL.

  3. Lazy Lungu himself probably doesn’t know what Amos is doing as he is nursing a hangover…simply look at their colleagues in Kenya – if Odinga was Zambian he would have been arrested for swearing himself as President.
These two; Lazy Lungu and Hakiande are two characters with massive egos …simply good at posturing Kenyan leaders did what these two selfish dingbats lamentable failed to without the assist of their former colonial masters.

  4. The President has responded maturely to the call for dialogue.
However, its embarrassing to have parties among us who are in the habit of demonising local initiatives in favor of foreign initiatives.
Furthermore, the same parties want to make the dialogue about their personal shenanigans and chicanery.

  5. HH is not normal. I only see madness in him. Ladies and gentlemen why does he hiwant dialogue with a president he does not recognise. What is it there to discuss. We all know the party that is full of tribal dogs.

  6. You people lets be serious sometimes. Do you honestly think that h.h would go to State House if called? How would h.h go to a house that he considers his birth right and not Lungus? That is the gist of the matter. “Its our turn”.

    • Mwanawasa went to visit Mazoka at Mazoka’s residence. Do you think ECL has that quality to make him do such a thing to HH? ECL is a very unforgiving man – just like KK his fellow Malawian.

  7. Dung beetles never cease to amaze!…panka Commonwealth surely…some opposition parties should just be obliterated completely…malabishi

  8. How did LT let you have a name like that 8 without moderation, shameful of them to allow such a name on their platform

  9. Dialogue? They do not mean well! They are pretenders, losers and anachysits. They want to look important but we know that they have no heart for Zambia but want to rule for selfish reasons. Losers! HH the chief loser!

  10. We don’t need to call HH and to shake his hands at state house. He can go to Namwala to his state house there and shake hands with hooligans.

  11. Dont plead for DIALOGUE ECL work work and work the aggireved should seek dialogue PF is not agrieved we are delivering results are their for all to see, e.g recent reshuffles new minister of water has already issued 3 SI’s he hasnt even settled and understand water engineering LUSAMBO already demolishing houses and mwakalombe gave JERABOS 10% SHAREHOLDING IN THE BLACK MOUNTAIN, MARGY REGULARLY GIVES ACCURATE STATE OF THE NATION ON ECONOMY WHICH MUTATI FAILED, LUO in the process to fire VC of CBU SO WHAT MORE DO U WANT. MUKATA IS A MOVING COFFIN Despite supporting PF

  12. Kenya is showing the way to reconciliation, peace and national cohesion while Zambia is showing the way to Chadian/Somalia type strife and bloodshed- all bcuz of big ego.

  13. No government before destroyed the systems of governance the way the current government has. Tell me any government department that is running right now according to laid down rules and procedures without any undue influence from someone whose only qualification for being there is being directly connected to the ‘powers that be’?????? Some people even want to dispute that we are now 6th most corrupt country in the World!!!??? You think this is normal?

  14. IT IS NOT DIALOGUE OR C/WEALTH THAT CAN TAKE HH TO STATE HOUSE. IT IS US ZAMBIANS WITH VOTERS CARDS. HH MUST IMPRESS US. ESPECIALLY THOSE OF US FROM THE 6.5 PROVINCES. YOU CAN HAVE DIALOGUE AFTER DIALOGUE. BUT AS LONG AS WE ARE NOT IMPRESSED, IT WILL BE THE SAME. HH WILL LOSE AGAIN.

  15. Dr Chishimba, my take is that perhaps foreigners have the leverage that the locals may not have. Zambians do have the capacity to bring parties together to dialogue but how many times are they attacked including telling them to concentrate on preaching!

The people in power become so powerful that they stop listening to anyone local.

Also remember that the inter party committee itself gets money from foreign countries in order to facilitate dialogue!

My own conclusion is that our all powerful people in power do listen to foreigners perhaps for fear of sanctions or whatever. They first throw tauntrums then agree and they sign peace.
By the way we too as Zambians have facilitated many such dialogues starting with Kaunda regime, Chiluba regime that even brought about peace in…

  16. Why is Mr President wasting time on this non existent crisis. Its is a one man crisis who wants to be president at all cost. he is already campaigning and busing cadres across the country. he is paying broke musicians to insult the Republican President with impunity.

  17. People must understand that Zambia is a valid member state to Commonwealth of nations aimed at promoting dialogue by providing a neutral forum where no one talks with an ‘iron fist’ but with facts. It’s a treaty that Zambia signed with full knowledge that any one agrieved can go and seek the Commonwealth forum. As for other parties being part of the dialogue, I see it as insanity for one to be part of the dialogue process when they are not agrieved in the matter at hand. If they want to be part of the dialogue, let them register their grievances with commonwealth so that the objectives of the dialogue processes can be included.

  18. What Zambia needs now is job creation in the private sector more than political dialogue. But Zambians are not serious with job creation. There is too much government intervention in the Private sector.
Talking of a recent case, we saw how government intervened in the private sector when Zodwa came to Zambia where she was humiliated and deported at the airport even when she said she was coming in as a spectator to a show that would have created a of money.
I appeal to Mama Wina and Mama Kaseba and Mama Nonde Joyce to come out clearly and support their fellow woman Zodwa as she tries to facilitate job creation in the private sector.

  19. It’s only a foolish mother who cooks food and expects her children not to eat it. Zambia provided rights, as a good mother, to every agrieved citizen to seek foreign intervention from outside bodies such as Commonthwealth and International courts. You dont only say, ” we are in a global village” when a Commonthwealth member state gives Zambia a grant, scholarships, loans, etc; any member state can give guidance to Zambia on human rights as well.

  20. Presenting rotten meat in flamboyant wrapping will not make it flesh nor will it stop the stench!! No amount of damage control will bury the corruptions allegations, fire tenders, road contracts, ambulances, a stolen election, ministerial ineptitude, abrogation of the constitution, etc, etc, and all the shenanigans this government has been mired in to stay in power. Lungu’s nationality is being questioned with the Public Protector asked to carry out investigations to establish the truth. Lungu has more on his plate to deal with than meets the eye. The law and the constitution of the land are sacrosanct and none is above the law. Zambian’s must not continue to bury their heads in the sand but learn to live by the truth.

  21. THE SOLUTION LIES IN WHAT THE VOTERS IN THE 6.5 PROVINCES AND THE 3.5 PROVINCES WANT. IF YOU DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO PERSUADE THE VOTERS TO VOTE OTHERWISE, YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME. . NO AMOUNT OF DIALOGUE WILL TAKE HH TO STATE HOUSE IF THE VOTERS ARE NOT PERSUADED. VOTERS ALREADY KNOW HH/UPND AND THEY ALREADY KNOW PF/ECL. THEY HAVE ALREADY MADE UP THEIR MIND WHO TO VOTE FOR.

  22. Who as sacrifice a lot President Lungu or taxpayers?

Who as benefited from the current administration taxpayer or PF?
