Ms. LANGA said this shortly after casting her vote at 07:13 hours at Mundawanga polling station.

And UPND candidate CHARMAINE MUSONDA said that she was happy that the campaign period went on well despite a few pockets of violence in Chilanga and Chimenja Wards.

She said this shortly after casting her vote at around 08:30 hours at Kalundu primary school.

And speaking after casting his vote, NAREP candidate PRIDE MAZABUKA has urged more people to turn out in numbers to cast their vote.

VOTING IN CHILANGA-POLICE UPDATE

05TH JUNE, 2018 – We received a report that people who were going to vote at a School in Kalundu area were being waylaid by some suspected UPND caders camping in the area and were beating them up.

They are also reported to have gone to the PF camp and damaged some motor vehicles belonging to PF supporters and one person was injured and rushed to Kanyama first level hospital, later referred to UTH due to head injuries.

Officers have been deployed to the area and order has been restored. Investigations have been instituted to bring to book perpetrators.

In Mundawanga, some UPND and PF Officials are reported to have imported cadres to the area which resulted in commotion. However , sanity has been restored.

We urge all political players to keep the peace and avoid acts that may bring confusion during the remaining period of the Chilanga bye elections.

    • Lungu does not accept anything that is good for Zambia.

He is a crook. A fraud. A drunkard.

I hope it is he that will have to accept a lengthy jail sentence after 2021.

    • The woman receives a salary in Chagwa’s corrupt government. It definitely is daylight robbery on an unprecedented scale. Another guy who draws huge money and contracts with the very list to do is KZ. How many more that we do not even know of?

    • I like the way UPND cadres and die-hards are encouraging themselves.

Their long time leader HH yesterdar said ECZ had connived with PF to make the PF candidate win.

Therefore, howcome the cadres are pridicting on the contrary? Area they trying to oppose HH?

    • So far so good as we await the final tally …

PF =19,423 ~ Mrs Maria Langa

UPND=16,843 ~ Ms. Charmaine Mel Musonda

  1. Are all ConCourt judges gathered for petition of this wasted constituency?
Can you imagine Sichinga was once MP for Chilanga, now being to

  2. Where is spaka and jj

    And Braus

The fellow s make lots of noise yet they know the truth. Its all politics

There is NO wind of change in Zambia

Remove hh and gbm if you want different outcome

  3. Godfridah the Christians for Lungu brigade cheerleader has spoken. Let’s all quake, or Lungu, ooops God will strike you down!

    • iye no wonder the files on the desk are empty meaning this woman is just eating tax payers money nothing to do in the office just farting and selling flitters

  4. We Zambians should accept that a religious minister in Zed is the most useless and wasteful position created. And that comes ahead of accepting Chilanga results.

  5. Thank you Minister. This morning we witnessed loads of PF cadres from Intercity being ferried to Chilanga carrying stones Tec and brandishing fists. Having no regard of other road users. Seriously these were going to disturb and intimidate the Chilanga people. Now there are on Kafue Road near the Basic School looking very stranded and desperate in this called weather. The smart Chilanga people have done their job. Now Minister pray for PF. Such acts of threatening people into submission is long gone. Tell them that good words follow their doers!

  6. As I once again accurately predicted UPND has won these by elections- the PVT figures show the margin is beyond PF catching up!

Where are the ones who denied my prediction 4 weeks ago?

  7. I like the way UPND cadres and die-hards are encouraging themselves.

Their long time leader HH yesterdar said ECZ had connived with PF to make the PF candidate win.

Therefore, howcome the cadres are pridicting on the contrary? Area they trying to oppose HH?

  8. Why is it so ba so called upnd supporters, HH is the most selfish and corrupt leader who preaches what he does not practice. You may win Chilanga but not the presidency or any other ward or constituency. Don’t fool yourselves

  9. THE 19,000s AND THE 16,000s ARE WRONG. THOSE WERE THE RESULTS AT THE 2016 GENERAL ELECTIONS IN FAVOUR OF UPND. BUT THE 7,000s AND 6,000s ARE MOST LIKELY CORRECT AS A RESULT OF APATHY. CONGRATS TO PF.

  10. In all that you do ladies and gentlemen, remember your Creator. My heart bleeds when we turn our backs against the King of Kings and the Lord of Lord’s. Wether you are at work, at home, at leisure honour your master God. The steps of the righteous man are ordered by the Lord. May God bless you all.

  11. Comment:it does not matter which political party you belong to if you are born a leader you will always be a leader. let’s us involve God in such situations. The bible says ” where God has put a hand NO man shall remove” Don’t underrate God children God. Zambia is a christian Nation we should put God first. Who knew that UPND member would emerge victorious in the by elections? Only God. No matter how much money you have spent on the campaigns if God says YES no one will say No. Let’s just go ahead and support the person who has taken the seat and we move forward. Just acceptance is the key. If you are not born a leader find other things to do if your heart is to help people invest in that area and God will come through for you. It is not only in politics that you can be recognised…

    • God has nothing to do with elections and democracy. If God had any influence in these things, God would have written the rules. Democracy has been a slow march from the devine right of monarchs to rule because they were deluding themselves that they were God-appointed in order to justify their bad ways and scare ordinary people not to question them. It all ended, didn’t it? Even the franchise was extended to all only after a fight. Why fight if it is all in God’s plans? Where was the argument that they were God-appointed which the deluded were advancing? Religion re-invented itself by bringing new arguments. I hope people understand why I have long since junked religion.

    • @18.1 God is not all controlling. He’s given us rules by which to live. It’s up to the individual to obey or disobey these rules. We have the free will and you decide what’s good or bad. Time after time in the Bible God’s people chose bad ways because those ways looked attractive and they normally suffered the consequences of their actions. It’s neither Satan or God who cause our misery. Shakespeare in Julius Caesar writes “The faulty dear Brutus does not lie with the gods but it’s from us because we are weaklings. ….”

  12. Ndanje Khakis: I expect you to apologize for your Christianity and I have no problem with that. But please note that it’s the clergy who were justifying the tyranny of monarchs by invoking the argument that the Kings were God-appointed. Same clergy who today have invented a new argument that God gave us democracy. Where was this God when women did not have the vote? Did God forget? But how can God forget because we are told that is a human weakness which God isn’t supposed to have? God was there when Adam and Eve were eating the forbidden fruit because God is omnipresent and couldn’t intervene. But can you NK watch as your loved one is being misled even when you have power to stop it? God ought to have strange love.

    • I’m not apologizing for anyone. The point is God has made an intelligent being who’s able to judge. Why don’t people commit adultery or theft when they can be seen? It’s because they know that what they’re doing is wrong. …that’s the beauty with God’s creation, it’s free to make choices and God will have the last say on the last day.

  13. Ndanje Khakis: Stick to the argument. Before democracy, European society was under rule of unelected monarchs who were not answerable to ordinary people but to God. That was the argument by the clergy even as monarchs were misruling their people. Fed up with this, people challenged this view and started demanding rights. The clergy invented a new argument that even elected leaders are also chosen by God and if God doesn’t give you the nod, you don’t get elected. What happened to the divine right of kings chosen by God?
