President Edgar Lungu has described the apparent bomb attack on Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa in the city of Bulawayo as unfortunate.

President Lungu said Bulawayo has been an area of interest in Zimbabwean politics, but hearing of such attacks on their Head of State made sad reading.

The President explained that he was hopeful that the law will take its course in that country and find the root cause of the incident.

The Head of State emphasized that politics of violence has no space in today’s modern politics.

Yesterday Live Zimbabwean TV showed an explosion going off shortly after President Mnangagwa left the podium shortly after having addressed supporters in Bulawayo.

The President was in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s second city, to campaign for his Zanu-PF party ahead of the nationwide elections taking place on July 30th.

President Lungu was speaking to journalists at City airport before his departure for Eastern province where he has gone for a two day working visit.

The plane carrying the head of state left at 10:00 hrs and was seen off by Vice President Inonge Wina, cabinet ministers, service chiefs and Patriotic Front senior officials.

  1. There goes the utterly Lazy thing again on a flight, every week its a flight….when its issues like this the lazy thing has time to talk to journalists when its serious issues like corruption he keeps quiet.
Why does this lazy thing need to be escorted to the airport…let your juniors and Service chiefs stay at home

    • HIS EXPERIENCE THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA AND THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES MR EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU

    • Why do all these guys go to line up to see the president fly off? They should spend time in hospitals and schools to see deficiencies there, may be things would change

    • Obatala – That’s because their boss perpetuates this culture of loafing, he has never worked in a corporation or run a business…he has no shame and loves to worshiped like a King. He has not made one announcement or press briefing himself about FIC Report, Swazi mansion or clarified what his Finance Minister announced last week about austerity measures…issues of great importance his advisers do the talking.
The Lazy Bum is simply happy do be called President and fly around….

    • Ha Jay Jay, kwena you’re a truly bitter Tonga man. Politicking on everything Lungu just because your Tonga boy never won. You see, the bitterness you portray and that of other UPND members doesn’t help your cause to ever lead. Zambians see through your intentions. It’s ever HH or nothing for you guys. Be reminded too that part of what makes your party never to lead is how your boy ascended to the presidency of the party. He was nowhere near the helm of power but simply. Cause he was Tonga and some $ you all crowned your leader. Let that sink in, ha Jay Jay!

  2. Over 10 of the people that ECL leads die and he remains mute. A foreigner “survives” a staged assassination, and he immediately expresses concern. Hmm. Sometimes l am tempted to think Fresher Siwale is probably right: the real Edgar is no more.

    • When I tell people that Lazy Lungu is not a leader people think its an insult; That’s another one as well…10 youths died last week and he is talking about a fake attempted coup in Zimbabwe. He was happy to invite these Jaribos to State House and issue them with a company registration certificate but he is mute about their deaths and he has also let his Mines minister get away with making insensitive statements.

    • Is it necessary for all these good for nothing ministers to go and line up on the tarmac to see off this Lungu each time he thinks of jumping on a plane. Are these PF morons serious about cutting their insatiable appetite to spend even when key sectors of the economy are limping. Its not surprising, Lungu has never worked hard for anything in his life and so to him lazying around and have a good time (drinking) is very normal life and he has demonstrated that to them (ministers) that standing on the tarmac is work enough for the day. What a country.

  3. Unfortunate for the crocodile, in this day and age sure!
But jona dont you also feel investigations should also be made as to why the economy you preside over is regressing, and corruption ,unemployment and thuggary are rising at 15% per anum yet the country grows at 1%.

    • He has more important issues to attend to like PF Party mobilization in EP, inspecting projects and attending the “meet the President” PF Fundraising Dinner.

  4. Each time I open lusaka times even in the village like now, I find names like Jay Jay and this one called nastiranous or Nastrimas, Kodi simunyenga akazi Just blogging ba fikala.
    No insults okey,ba stupeti!!

  5. What a waste of fuel and time for all these minister cadres going to see Lungu off at the airport; no wonder Trump calls Africa a sh1thole countries;

  6. Apart from Thorn, all the comments from the 1.d.i.ots above are off topic and are hate, bitterness based directed toward Edgar Lungu. Instead of focusing on the unfortunate incident in Zimbabwe, it’s insults from diasporan bottom cleaners. Diaspora ni matuvi zoona!!!

  7. Every morning I pray that anyone of the following becomes the next president come 2021 elections: kalaba, magande,Gen miyanda, mutati, chipimo,

  8. has he apologised yet for allowing the youth to mine at black mountain ? Has he visited the families of the youth that perished. Are they going to give the poor families left behind money to survive !! The mining should not have been allowed in the first place yet, to get votes, they allowed it ZZ!! disgraceful !

  9. Awe your excellency twapapata. Sit down and look at the Nation’s issues. Address the nation on what we are going through, unemployment, high taxes, high cost of living, corruption just to name a few. Then give us a clear road map on what your govt is planning on doing and please don’t say borrowing.
