Muchinga Province Police Commissioner Chola Katanga has confirmed the incident to ZANIS in Isoka today.

Mr Katanga identified the deceased as Lazerous Sichone, adding that the deceased took his life after family members quizzed him on how he sold the family land clandestinely at K800.

Mr Katanga disclosed that relatives later discovered that Sichone only used K150 out of the K800 he had sold the land.

He said Police visited the scene and carried out physical inspection on the deceased body and found no physical injuries.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited to Isoka District Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.

  1. Did Jesus commit suicide? Of course he did.Hebrews 7:27 even gives Jesus credit for killing himself. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. The Jewish high priest slit the throat of the sacrificial animal and offered it to God.Hebrews 7:27 is saying that Jesus essentially slit his own throat. He could not offer himself without being the high priest who does the killing. If suicide is a sin, then Jesus committed the sin of self-murder….

    • That’s not true! Christ did not commit suicide, He was born to die on the Cross. Christ did not go to the Cross out of any selfish loathing of Himself or His prospects in this life, He did not go to the Cross because he “just couldn’t take it anymore” but rather as a sacrifice for the rest of us.

    • Shadrach noone prophesied Jesus dying on a cross. There were no crosses in Jesus’ land then. They used to kill offenders on stumps. Check the Bible

    • This is a very sad story and it is a pity that bloggers have ignored the loss of life and started talking about Jesus Christ. It is irrelevant here. This was a poor villager who was probably taken advantage of by somebody who is educated and has money. Even the poor need a plot of land to build a dwelling and grow some crops for sale and to eat. I think govt has been ignoring this problem for too long.

  2. The rate of suicide is just alarming in Zambia, I hope its not the work of some Mason from opposition party sacrificing souls to win elections. That man is a suspect, he has never cleared his name except cadres are the ones protecting him as if they are with him at night.

    • Fuseki.. You are rotten in the head. How do you blame someone for this suicide report. It is not politically motivated.

  3. When it comes to commenting please let’s not be bringing unnecessary courses on ourselves. Why do we have to involve JESUS’ AGAPE LOVE for humankind in such a scenario? Who did this man died for? When you are free from diereses, hanger and peace prevails don’t forget that one day will be different. The JESUS you don’t want to respect today you shall call HIM in the day of pain. Please it pays to stay quiet when you don’t have what to share with the social media. JESUS LOVE YOU, HE died for your sins and mine. Always remember that.
