Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Davies Mwila says the ruling party’s overwhelming victory in yesterday’s 13 out of the 14 mayoral, council chairperson and ward elections is a victory of truth over lies.
Mr Mwila said that, considering the pace at which the PF government is developing the nation, the opposition’s message to the Zambian people can no longer make any sense.
Mr Mwila said that President Lungu’s character makes friends, draws support and opens the way to relationships and that his goodwill has attracted patronage for PF even in regions that were previously considered opposition strongholds.
Addressing the media at the PF Secretariat today, Hon Mwila observed that the nationwide sweep of PF election victories is also a mass protest by the people against what he leballed as a jealous and envious opposition and its fabrications of corruption.
“As I congratulate the winning candidates, I also wish to thank our party members who worked tirelessly on the ground. The purpose of elections is to hear the will of the people and by the Patriotic Front winning 13 out of 14 elections spread across the country, the people have spoken very audibly and resoundingly in their endorsement of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and the PF government.
“Under the stewardship of President Lungu and his ever increasing popularity, our party has continued to grow from strength to strength… our people have seen the massive unprecedented development across the country just as they have seen through the envy, hate and jealousy of the opposition,” Hon Mwila observed.
“The Zambian people have refused to listen to the opposition’s cheap bitter talk and propaganda,”
The Secretary General pledged that the ruling party will continue to work with the people to deliver on its promises and to never focus on the opposition.
“While they focus on negativity, we will focus on being a blessing. While they falsely try to scandalise us, we will be busy building people’s lives; truth always rises above falsehood as Oil above Water.”
Yesterday’s elections were held in North Western, Lusaka, Western and Eastern Provinces.
The truth is that life is so boring and annoying. No one is interesting. Zambia don’t win anything, even under 17s.
As opposition we are very fragmented and busy f0oling ourselves that we can elections. Good indicator of 2021 if we continue with our pride and egos, this trend will continue. All opposition parties are supposed to be under one umbrella, don’t cheat yourselves that we are a democracy. There is no rigging here, PF have won squarely and fairly, period.
Congrats ba PF. Your party mobilization campaign bwana SG seems to be yielding results. How I wish your opponents could as well mobilize and give you a good run for your victories. But, it takes levelheadedness to organise the party the way you have. You Mwila are a hard worker and I hope you do have the ability to share and transfer your leadership qualities to the younger gens. I really admire your mature handling of issues in your party that is able to discipline by sidelining the likes of CK as bad apples/eggs and forgive the likes of Miles as prodigals. It takes real guts to drive the party to greater heights. How I hope you could move to successfully transfer power from ECL to the right person after his time. Political parties ain’t supposed to diminish. Genius!

Politics based on morals and quality is long gone in Zambia. It is all about tribe. Even when it is about choosing a councilor the battle is brought to a level of Lungu Vs HH ,Bemba/Nyanja Vs Tonga/Luvale or Lozi. There is nothing to cerebrate since all by elections were held in PF tribal strongholds, UPND won one by election held in their stronghold. The same scenario of 2016 will keep on repeating itself. @1.2.UPND was doing well under MMD because they were never harassed or beaten when doing door to door campaigns. Under pf, it is a death sentence to do that.pf is free to campaign without harassment. They bribe the voter with cash and other foodstuffs. They use cadres dressed in police uniform to beat up or intimidate opposition members.
All of you thinking pf is popular must observe their strategy. Even if the opposition unites, they still will have judges, ECZ on their sides with a violent and corrupt pf to deal with. Definitely correct. And people can be forgiven for the apathy knowing things are on course. The pace of socio-economic gains is extra-ordinary. Even UNIPist know they have been surpassed. Every country has its own path way of development based on the socio-economic etc.As such it is being disproportion to compare Zambia with well developed nations.It is good to read history and find out where were these first countries before?what was prevailing in their nations.It is the first world countries who were involved in slave trading,child labour,discrimation of women just to mention afew.we have our own pathway and as a country is making strides slowly.

Did you see what happened during the voting process, PF got 72,105, UPND got 34,362, NAREP got 352. UNIP got 477, RPP got 112. UPP got 626, NDC got 2,428. PAC got 7,018 and finally UPPZ got 958, all these votes total 118,438, now contrast that with the total number of registered voters as at 2016 you can do you plus and minus’s it shows that out of a total of 1,119,318 registered voters, only 118,438 voted giving us a variance of 1,000,880 (Sucker Punch) voters who did not vote, in this figure those who voted if divided are 8.45 times less meaning per every one voter who did vote slightly over eight did not vote.
The voters were only 10.58% of eligible voters, meaning 89.42% of the people have kept…
