Minister of Energy Mathew Nkhuwa has disclosed that all legal procedures to establish an oil pipeline from Angola into Zambia have been concluded.

Mr. Nkhuwa said that the Memorandum of Understanding between Zambia and Angola will be signed on October 12, 2018.

The Minister said that Government is ready for the project and that feasibility studies will start before the end of the year.

Mr. Nkhuwa told ZNBC News in an interview that the oil line will bring many economics benefits to the country because oil will be cheaper as the importation cost will be reduced.

Mr. Nkhuwa said that the pipe line will also bring in petrol, diesel and gas used for cooking.

Mr. Nkhuwa further said that the development will also mean reduced pressure and congestion on the roads which will mean less refinancing on the road sector.

Do you really believe this government? When sata came to power didn't they scream that they will import oil from Angola? And might even start by air lifting supplies! Now its a pipeline? Weren't we told indeni is not a fully fledged refinery? And that it only takes certain stock and not all kinds of crude?

@Anyoko, am liking you on these infrastructure loans. Kekekeke What's wrong in China grabs KK airport, Tazara, Kariba dam, Great East Road and now Bengula Pipeline? Even Zesco, give it to China so they replace those pole-wires with plastic ones.

How is that possible, those who have gone to school. Can a pipe line carry those 3 products or there will be 3 pipe lines ?

I know alot my friend, pipe lines transport so many liquid, they pump crude oil, then flush with water which they collect last crude oil, refine it. Pump, lubricating oil, then industrial diesel, and so on on. I learned in logistics classes. And visited transit stations. Twalisoma ifwe, well educated and provide good seex!
