    • Express interest to exploit Zambia and why are you excited over Chinese? And not your own people. This is a shame. We should be hearing about this minister getting more Zambians to investment and support them rather than Chinese.

    • Truth be told African leaders are the worst business negotiators, when the Arabs came our forefathers (chiefs) gave them labor (slaves), minerals in exchange for cloth and beads, then the Europeans came, they gav them labor, minerals and land, when fighting for freedom they only negotiated for political power and forgot economic power, now we have the Chinese..

    • This is ridiculous. All these Chinese flocking to Zambia is because they’ve seen that Zambia is the most clueless, weakest and easiest country to move to, manipulate and exploit. No wonder Zambia has been in international news lately as China’s first casualty. How can you be so fixated on one country as a source of your salvation? What are you doing for yourselves? Where are Zambian investors and businessmen and women? Why are you not empowering indigenous Zambians, instead of always relying on foreigners to do everything for you? Foreign investors usually have one goal in mind. Make a profit for themselves, and care less about the country they’re doing business in. The Indians used to control the economy in Zambia. And now today it’s mainly the Chinese. And these so called…

    • (continued).. Chinese investors mostly bring cheap goods into the country, turning Zambia into nothing more than a huge dumping ground. Zambians are now just mere consumers and a source of cheap labor. Zambians are now mere spectators, while foreigners make hefty profits from their resources. And the sad thing is, the average Zambian’s standard of living is getting worse and worse. You should only allow people in the country who are coming to invest big money in manufacturing industries. And mainly you need to support local Zambian business people first. Empower local Zambians first, because when they begin to create wealth, the wealth will stay in the country and not siphoned out to other countries. You can’t have everything in the country run by people from other countries…

    • He does through addition by subtraction. He is really irrelevant. The actual number is 143 Chinese firms. Remember how they always over value the roads and undervalue the loans from China!!!!!!!!
      Disaster!!!!!!!!

  4. The best option is to try and organise friendly loans from Africa Development Bank for Zambians to invest with. Stop cherishing and worshipping foreigners.

  8. why are Zambians specialists in complaining?
its not the minister who looks at these details at the ministry. We have very intelligent and well educated Zambians at the ministry of commerce who know exactly what we need.
Zambians should get involved and learn the ‘art’ of the deal.
Let the UPND cadres tell us their alternative to the current investment trend.
We are tired of the west insulting our intelligence. Let’s roll…wasala wasala….wake up Zambia

  9. HH tell these chimbwis that it’s not the Chinese or any other foreign country’s so called infestors who will transform your country into a middle income status. This has to come from within, the Zambian’s own drive and productivity being fairly remunerated with strong trade unions to ensure the emergence of a strong middle class. These will broaden the tax base, spend their earnings within Zambia thereby driving the demand for goods and services. I don’t see these foreign infestors allowing strong trade unions let alone fair wages or spending their profits in Zambia! You are already seeing this in the Chinese owned mines. There are no shortcuts here
What’s really tragic here is how ready Zambians are to swallow any BS fed to them. First it was the 90 days more money in your pockets, 100…

  10. Why are we Zambians racist against the Chinese? Lets learn from them and use our advantages to compete with them. About 40 years ago, they were just as poor as we but worked hard to be were they are today

  11. It will be good for ordinary Zambians to be enlightened on the terms under which Chinese and Zambian government have settled on…but history has it that such policies have brought nothing but more misery on the masses…

  12. A very terrible statement from a minister. with the presence of Chinese Zambians will have a middle class by 2030. invest on the Zambians to lift themselves up, don’t expect Chinese to that. Every foreign investor in Africa is never for the benefit of Africans. When the lined the pockets of the president and its ministers, they automatically own the key to the country, and they can operate the way they want. on CNN, I even saw Chinese closing down roads in the heart of a Zambian city. no trespassing. I feel for you people, I really do.

  13. It is sad ,not for Zambia but for the rest of Africa. No room for Chinese in china, and long-term Chinese plans are to infiltrate Africa with Chinese by any means. It is darn cheap for Chinese and so far working. Whites took many black to US and very few in Asia, they grew and prosper. Chinese invented new ways to invade.
Also it is in the best interest of Africa. In next 200 years landscape will be different. People of Africa will not be black but mixed. And hopefully starvation and poverty will be eliminated. And rest will be history. Dear people
accept Chinese for betterment of Africa and Africans. Chinese robbed world of money and technology and their problem is population. They found the solution a great warm nice fertile continent. Good luck Zambia and Africa with Chinese.
