Cronimet, a German Mining Power Solutions Company says visionary leadership is key in attracting Foreign Direct Investment into Africa.

Company Managing Director Rollie Armstrong says his firm counts Zambia’s President Edgar Lungu among Africa’s visionary leaders hence the company’s decision to invest over a 100 million Euros in solar generated power.

“We are aware of the decisions the Zambian leader has taken in the energy sector thus making it worthwhile to invest in the country,” Mr. Armstrong said when he paid a courtesy call on Zambia’s Ambassador to Germany Anthony Mukwita.

Mr. Armstrong noted that there is a lot of money in the global investment market that investors want to invest in countries with visionary leadership.

“We have mobilized between 500 and 1 billion dollars in investment funds to be invested in several African countries among them Zambia”, Mr. Armstrong who was accompanied by his investment partner Meir Assouline, an influential Brussels based lawyer said.

And Ambassador Mukwita commended Cronimet for choosing Zambia as an investment destination.

Ambassador Mukwita said the investment decision was in the right direction as President Lungu has taken some of the most difficult decisions ever taken by any leader since 1964 when Zambia became an independent nation.

“For the first time in the country’s history, President Lungu scrapped subsidies that had stifled private investment in the energy sector, a decision that had scared his predecessors because of the potential social and political turmoil that have been observed in some parts of the world where similar policy measures have been taken”, the Zambian envoy observed.

He said once a Power Purchase Agreement, PPA, is signed with ZESCO with the support of the Zambian government, Cronimet will develop both grid-connected and off-grid connected Photovoltaic that once commissioned, will have an asset value in excess of 100 million euros.

“President Lungu’s visionary leadership is clear in the energy sector as the future of energy globally is shifting to clean renewable resources”, Ambassador Mukwita has observed.

  1. These are people that matter.

He is not just visionary, he is inspirational.

The trouble that’s there nowadays is that the less elite sadly some on here, believes all the drivel that comes from unwashed social media platforms.

The truth is in the pudding.

President Lungu is one of the greatest natural inspirational leaders there has ever been.

I have a PhD so surely I know a good recipe when I see one.

    Ignore me at your peril!

    Thanks

    • I would probably call him visionary too if that got me some outlandish profit margins. I’d also be very deliberate in mentioning any one of the many examples of his extraordinary lack of vision or leadership. Means to an end. Albeit not a happy one for most Zambians.

    • That is why visionless TRIBAL CULT LEADER and TRIBALIST H-Organiser hates the President! He knows that after 2026 Zambia will be counted as a developed nation in Africa and HAZALUZA HAGAIN hates that. Selective AMNESIA little boys with laughter disease would have been clapping for the same if it was their UNDER FIVE little boy who had been endorsed by the people who harm our nests.

    • I do not have a phd but I can guarantee you I have a far higher intelect than you could ever possibly aspire to achieve. How dare you attack people you assume to be lesser than you because they are not part of your fictitious ‘elite’? You are a problem manifest by an a-hole leader that is not only incapable of sounding intelligent but IS unintelligent

  2. A German mining power knows that its simple..lets just sing praises then we shall go there to that tax free zone country make our money and take it out. What will they eat if they criticize? After 5 years when its time to pay tax they shall just edit the name. Policy makers ..by a show of hands lets see you raise them.

  3. Doesn’t sound like an above board investor. Sounds more like an insult or a corrupt bribe than a commendation. Why would a German investor flatter our President like that? First of all it means that this company will not bid for projects and be evaluated on merit like others. It will just be given carte blanche, and ZESCO directed to sign a purchase agreement. After that we will learn too late who those people really are.

  4. If I were Anthony Mukwita I would feel embarrassed to even post such a story back home. Or I would cut out the flattery and insult and simply report of an interested investor. Meantime I am gonna google these crooks.

  5. Googled:
The lawyer, can’t find him in Belgium. Exists in Israel though, business not related to Ppas.
The investor: found him related to a 1Mw solar plant in Tanzania partially funded by grants from the EU, DEG and DFID. Offices or interests in Namibia and a few other African countries.
I think the “visionary” part were Anthony Mukwita’s own words, typical of the flattery among officials surrounding the President, but he seems to enjoy the glorification though.

  6. Ok but why wasn’t he visionary on cholera ,high foreign debt and a failing economy that’s been downgraded several times?

  7. Becoz they were given a tender, if I won a tender and busy milking innocent Zambian`s I would say the same about this convicted debarred lawyer who stole a widows money.

  8. Anthony Mukwita is nothing but a shill for Lungu. I questioned him on one of his Facebook posts only to have my post deleted and my account blocked.
