Power brace for Nkana’s big shooters

Power Dynamos coach Kelvin Kaindu insists they can hold their won against the potent firepower of opponents Nkana in Saturday’s 2018 Barclays Cup semifinal showdown at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.

Nkana are favourites to go through to the final thanks to their prolific striking department led by Idris Mbombo who has just won the 2018 FAZ Super Division golden boot with 20 goals and already has two more in the Barclays Cup.

“They (Nkana) may have the depth and the players but we believe more in team play,”Kaindu said.

“We don’t normally single out individuals and that is the strength of how our team plays.”

But Nkana have yet to beat Power in both Kitwe derby meetings in 2018 after they lost 2-1 at home and finished 2-2 away in league action this season.

“Coming to the game, I think football is played on the field and we just need to focus and believe in ourselves,” Kaindu said.

“We have played them twice this season and we haven’t lost to them and we got four points off them.

“But they are still the team to beat and are probably one of the teams that have been consistent in the second round of the season in which they have not lost a game.”
