Zambia’s High Commissioner to India Judith Kapijimpanga has called on students from Africa not to be agents of scandalizing the continent.

Mrs Kapijimpanga said it will be the last time she will officiate at any function where students cannot speak progress about Africa.

She said African students should remember that Africa will always remain their home and must strive to be ambassadors of change.

Presenting a lecture on governance to Africans at Galgotias University in Greater Noida, in India, Mrs Kapijimpanga stressed that Zambians are working hard to promote good governance.

Mrs Kapijimpanga said students should strive to make the change they want to see.

She said young people should not wait for political leadership positions to make a difference in the promotion of good governance.

Mrs Kapijimpanga has however, urged students to understand challenges affecting governance.

The High Commissioner said calamities or events that come with climate change are affecting governance, as governments have to divert resources to address such immediate challenges.

She further, said the youths should be made aware that the new disruptive technologies are pausing a challenge to the much needed good governance.

Mrs Kapijimpanga also said transportation networks can also be a hindrance to good governance especially bad road networks as they result in efficiency.

She said global issues such as the increase in fuel prices, affect governance as governments have to change their budgets in order to cushion deficits and unplanned expenditure.

The High Commissioner further, said things are moving very fast because of living in a dynamic world where things are changing daily thereby affecting governance when things get outdated with time.

This is according to a press statement issued to ZANIS by First Secretary Press and Tourism at the Zambian Mission in New Delhi India, Bangwe Naviley.

  1. But Lungu is scandalizing the continent with corruption ,frequent flying and buying expensive jets. His economic management is also below average.

    • There is more evil with the current leadership than there is good.

Yes they are doing some good but gosh..: evil is dominant

    • When will some Africans come to terms that democracy is here to stay and we have moved on from one party state.

    • I hope the students had sense enough to see through this nonsense. It’s corrupt Lungu and his corrupt gang who are scandalizing Zambia, and not the innocent students. Please ignore her. She’s just parroting what she thinks corrupt Lungu wants to hear.

  2. Well said! Lets believe in our process it may take long but lets keep building and talk about the efforts we are making. Once our children get the education, come home and contribute towards change.

  3. Its funny how all these African Politicians are always accusing people on diaspora of scandalizing when they do not make an effort to transparent and accountable…as that’s the only way you can put a stop to it…really laughable..even the likes of Muhammadu Buhari is in on it yet he sent three months in UK hospital without letting his people his sickness.

  4. Iwé Kapiji…

Just whobis scandalising the African continent?

    42/42 is a no brainier

Selling off the country’s strategic assets is a no brainer

Corruption and consumption and not production and consumption is a no brainier…

    Iwé kabiji…

Ulelila iwé- so your eyes are shut-

There is no sane Zambian who is going to listen to this tosh.

Speak to government of the day and tell them they are scandalising Zambia later on Africa.

    • Not only that, Zambian fuel is the most expensive in the region if not the whole continent. How does “Vibijimpanga” explain this??
Obviously there is something extremely wrong in the Zambian fuel procurement process, where even struggling broke Zimbabwe sells cheaper fuel.
Vibijimsanga is part & parcel of eating from these Government Scams, SO HOW DARE SHE LECTURES POOR STUDENTS ABOUT SCANDALISING CORRUPT ZAMBIA /AFRICA, JUST BECAUSE HER CORRUPT BELLY IS FULL!!
What are you gonna do if the students don’t heed your silly advice? Will you contact short Caveman Ch1mpyiongo to lob teargas into their dormitories???

  5. Even with the war and tension in their country, you will never hear a Lebanese speak ill of their country. Colonialism surely did it’s part in making an African believe anything African is bad. The western education just makes most Africans good western surrogates and does nothing to make the African mind think on its own. African diadpora believe our leadership is bad but sit at a distance and just criticise without any practicle input at any level of governance or in the local economies. While Lebanese and Indians take the lead in industry, our exposed diasporans have taken to political social media fake news of disparaging Africa.

    • How many Lebanese have you met…the problem with you empty tins is that even a Greek guy born in Zambia to you is considered as a Lebanese, have you ever sat down and had a conservation with them?

    • Africa uniting is a fallacy, with I’d its like Sharon, njimbu, ndanje, forget. My brother the fact that these Lebanese have run away from country in droves is proof enough that it’s another sh#thole.

    • Dear Zambian Citizen, your foolish remarks demonstrate a luck of knowledge on the subject matter.. when we complain of stifling our efforts to contribute by employing and investing in our country, you think it’s a jock? Do you know the cost of clearing a second vehicle in the country? Do you know the cost of fuel? Do you know the cost of selling farm produce compared to costs of farm inputs?
Please research before you insult us who’ve put our monies where are mouth is.. end!

  6. The wise say lead by example and that a country is a representation of its leadership. If you feel that students are failures then it means you have failed them. You are the leaders who have the power and capability to ensure that society moves in a particular direction for the sole purpose of development and prosperity. Whne you have a government that cannot explain why donor funds have disappeared then then maybe it is time to look within yourself for the problem.

  7. Zambian culture sucks, we don’t like seeing each there succeed so we pull people, businesses, political parties etc down to make ourselves feel better which just keeps perpetuacting the cycle of poverty. if you take a close look at our social circles, how we interact with each other is usually based on what financial/statues upper hand we can get from each other very tribal and primitive. on a larger scale whats happening to our country is mirroring the individual Zambian mindset. Doing business in Zambia kikikiki is a myth unless ur a crook or can think like a crook. capital flow is so slow, no one pays on time, the police are useless, anti fraud will hit on u if ur a women smh say nah and ur case is forgotten, interest rates are supper high coz there is no security, ZRA have now…

  8. It’s good she has said this is the last function which she will attend herself. It will make life easier for the students not to invite her in future.

  9. @4 DONT TYPE IN DOUBLE SPACING, U FINISH THE SPACE FOR OTHER BLOGGERS TO COMMENT AS THIS IS AN A4 PAPER ONLY ONE SIDED WRITING

  10. There is no such thing as WESTERN EDUCATION. If Africans are waiting for an AFRICAN EDUCATION they are doomed. It does not exist. Thereis only one education used by every developed Asian, European, North American or South American country. It is based on – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The days Africans and their leaders embrace STEM they will start developing like everyone else. Just ask the Chinese – they spend more on science education including the highest number of foreign students in Europe, America and Canada. They know how important STEM education IS and WILL BE in their future. They are using it to make money in Africa. Africans just don’t know how to make anything and yet blame the WEST.

  11. It’s true the students need not bother, the politicians (dictators) have done more than enough to scandalize Africa

  12. We have a lot of uncle toms, especially on this website. I always wondered if some are true Zambians or hired mercenaries itching to see Zambia fall apart. Students represent the future of any nation. Kaunda manufactured leaders with his ingenious system which supported education from primary all the way to University and complimented the system by sponsoring Zambian students abroad via ZIMCO. Chiluba saw this as a threat to his reign and the distortion of UNZA was born. Zambia must have been the only country in the world where the only institution of higher learning was closed indefinitely at one point. Students need to be impartial and pledge their allegiance to the country and not to individuals. Politicians come and go.
