Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo has called on Zambians to continue upholding tenets of democracy as the country celebrates its 54th Independence Anniversary.

Mr. Lusambo said democracy comes with responsibilities hence it is the duty of every Zambian to promote national unity.

Mr Lusambo said peace that the country enjoys is key to attracting investment in the country.

He was speaking when officials from Ministry of Justice paid a courtesy call on him at his office.

And Mr. Lusambo expressed dismay with the way some political players and citizens have been abusing their rights in the name of democracy.

And Zambia Law Development Commission Director Hope Chanda said government is undertaking the review of the public order act to enhance the democratic environment as outlined in the seventh national development plan.

Mrs. Chanda explained that the commission is undertaking provincial consultative meetings to review the public order act.

    • Zambia is a democratic country in Africa except in the minds of NAMWALANS. “ONLY A TONGA CAN BE PRESIDENT OF UPND,” Larry Mweetwa.

    • Later this week, the long-awaited 34-mile sea bridge connecting mainland China to Hong Kong and Macau will finally open.

In a ceremony on Tuesday that Chinese president Xi Jinping will reportedly attend, the bridge will officially open. Its accolades include the designation of “world’s longest sea bridge,” a $20 billion price tag, nine years of construction, and a whole lot of controversy. HH HALLUCINATING WITH HIS TRIBAL LOSERS. They think China is a small Bantustan like Namwala.

    • HaMulenga! HH is the biggest one! He should tell the nation how much kickbacks he received for selling the mines. How much kickbacks for selling other individual companies. How many companies he owes which he bought as a result of inside-trading illegal practices, how much kickbacks he got for disclosing and finding money to buy companies on sale at fixed prices to buddies and how much money in total he got after privatization. He must also tell the nation the reason why he took the money to a tax haven in PANAMA and how much he swindled Zambia. After that we can vote for him even if he is CHILDISH.

  1. This boot Licker, what democracy, do you !doits even know what democracy is when you can arrest priests for talking about your useless budget and you want to talk about democracy…….. real morons

  2. It was a slip of the tongue. He meant to say we shall uphold this dictatorship as zambia turns 54. After all they are the only ones enjoying the fruits of independence.

  3. You are making it difficult for Civic education teachers to convince students that Zambia is a democratic nation. By the way, teachers are mostly using a learner centred approach and students are sharing their experiences.
