All Peoples Congress party president Nason Msoni says his party fully understands the growing impatience and frustrations at the general lack of personal development of youths in the country.

In a statement Msoni notes the need to implement a well drawn up program of action that meets the current demands and challenges faced by the youths in the country which he says his government will do upon assuming office.

The outspoken opposition leader said among many things which his government will implement to reduce youth unemployment is to provide free apprenticeship programs as well as increase enrolment capacities in tertiary institutions.

“My government priorities once in office would be to start implementing a well meticulously drawn up program of action to provide free apprenticeship programs and increase the enrolment capacities for tertiary learning institutions.

“We will empower and train our youths with various life skills mostly thought after by the global market.

“We will enhance and increase capacity in the training of nurses, doctors, clinicians, technicians and all other paramedics,” he said.

Msoni further said his party values youths and sees them as an integral part of governance as opposed to instruments of violence.

He explained that there is need to ensure that children are removed from the streets where they are being exploited by irresponsible adults.

“We will ensure that our youths are imputed with value and can meaningfully contribute to society as opposed to being used as instruments of violence by those who see public office as a means to personal aggrandisement.

“As a President I will especially ensure that no child will remain homeless and vulnerable to exploitation by irresponsible adults in the streets,” he said.

Msoni has since pledged to deliver on his promises saying “I am also cognisant in making my promises that several of my other colleagues had similarly promised you so many good things including Jobs but have lamentably failed to deliver to you but I will not fail.”
