President Edgar Lungu

President Edgar Lungu has implored Zambians to continue embracing peace and unity as it is a perquisite for the country’s sustainable development

President Lungu says this is why there is need for all Zambians to continue on the path of unity, hard work and prosperity and liberate themselves from factors that hold back the country from attaining development.

Mr. Lungu noted that Zambia has continued to brand itself as a peaceful nation due to its ability to accommodate diverse views from different regions, races and also offers good hospitality which attracts many visitors to the country.

The Head of State said this during his independence address to the nation.

He noted that the continued positive branding of the country is vital in attracting foreign investment and enhancing international relations.

President Lungu said the struggle for freedom and political emancipation was the beginning of the journey for the shared future, development and prosperity.

He added that there is need for people in the country to change their mind set in order to transform the country’s future.

The Head of State explained that prior to colonialism the system of governance was based on traditional values and principals rooted in common humanity, respect and honest among others.

President Lungu said as the country celebrates its 54th independence anniversary tomorrow Zambians should remember those who fought for the country’s freedom by demonstrating that their sacrifice still lives on.

He said this year’s theme for both Independence and National Day of Prayer urges people in the country to be selfless, love and respect one another and that God’s guidance is upon the country.

The President said all Zambians should play a role in deepening the meaning of independence by building strong bonds of unity that will help in building a better Zambia.

President Lungu further said Zambians should not fall prey to short comings that are in conflict with national values and principles that governs the country’s Christian faith.

Zambia will tomorrow commemorate its 54th Independence celebrations under the theme “54th Independence anniversary celebrating a shared future of unity, development and prosperity.’’

Please Listen to the man who carries zambia by the palm of hands and has transformed it to unparalleled levels.

He is the best african President at the helm now.

    Thanks

    • Ati Magufuli… you are behind. That guy only made noise first 8 months, and became useless.
Edgar would have made it as one of best, he lost opportunity.

    • HIS EXPERIENCE AND THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES MR EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU A DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED POPULAR PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA HAS SAID HIS OWN.

Always reassuring. Isn’t he WONDERFUL? What a positive message. Long live your Excellency. Mumba said in his vision, and under your reign, Zambia will be successful. Amen.

    • When everything is done the money will be remembered as one of the great presidents Zambia has ever had. Let’s develop this thing Mr. President! It is UNELECTABLE and is a leader of TRIBALISM in Zambia. Don’t bother about whatever it rants nor its worshipers.

    • MUSHOTA AND SHARON are right, ECL is chosen by GOD, he does not tolerate corruption and as we speak he has cancelled the purchase of the Presidential jet because he has realised it is a waste of money and that money is better-used building schools for children who have been going to school in thatched classes. He is a listening President.
As Zambians we should be very proud of the Head of State.

  2. Empty speech.
This is a time when peoples freedoms are at their least since independence.
Their is a general feeling that exploitation of man by man is at its peak since independence.
Who does not know that the Chinese are now our masters.
Who does not know that the PF and their supporters are considered first class citizens and the rest are ,you know which class.
    Really sad.

  3. I am now certain that Mushota is an employee or shareholder for LT. Anyway, i wish i knew ECL’s operational definition for peace especially now that PF has introduced the Machete Culture now graduating to gun culture, you are guilty until proved innocent, discussing a budget in a secluded place you need a permit, freedom of movement and association is only for PF members (ask Kalaba), elections are now associated with blood etc.

    • You absolutely right, but for kalaba and kambwili what do they know ,only a few months ago they were part and parcel of this ghoulish train and they are still holding to it as members of parliament.

  4. Zambians already embrace peace. It is you the leaders who let them down when you can’t guarantee them jobs, food and shelter.

  5. Violence is one of the many big holes that is causing the Boat to sink. PF and UPND are the most violent Parties in Zambia. As President, Edgar knows who’s violent in his Party yet he buries his head in the sand. No one has been arrested since Davies Mwila made the empty call to the Police because the perpetrators are powerful. In Zambia you only become powerful when you are close to the President. What a mockery!

  6. The PFanga party preaching peace? Many families have lost their loved one’s to your violent political rallies though.

The subject is a disgruntled upndead sympathiser.

      Never mind gullibles like him.

  7. Dictator preaching peace, that’s the first….. wonder if he was sober when he said all this crap… useless more than the word it self

  8. Your Excellency sir, in your speach you said PEOPLE SHOULD CHANGE THEIR MIND SET very true words as the Zambian should now realise the difference between good and bad governance. Your rule sir and your party needs to change. We are more colonized by our own African leaders than we were under the Colonialist. Fair enough there was segregation but now we are hounded by the police and your PF cadres. In other words we are prisoners in our own country. The opposition is not free to go where they wish and interact with the people. Kindly reflect on all this.

You can’t even define freedom kid.
You gotta be managed. Freedom does not mean you can go outa way terrorising people who don’t vote for you in your territory, motorcade road rage, torching markets and ripping someone’s jacket at the courts. Freedom does not spare characters calling for uprising of the 90s leading the death of an innocent gal. Freedom does not mean food, jobs and shelter should follow you while you lazy about. Freedom does not amount to street vending. Freedom can’t defythe POA. Grow up.

  9. Ni independence lelo, so imwe ba upnd obey your “leaders” and shut your tr.aps otherwise you are celebrating the day with us patriotic and real Zambians!! In particular trib.al Spaka, nationality southern stronghold.

  10. But ba UPND in your Dundumwezl brains you think by insulting ECL we will vote for HH??.Its actually the opposite the more you insult the more we see what type of people you are and the more reason we vote for ECL

  11. Lungu is the wrong man to preach peace when he presides over a violent administration, police and party cadres. He is the face of violence!

    • Pathological liar.
You lie with a heavy heart.
Enjoy your independence on a day like this one. Stop being naive and count your blessings.
Whether you like it or not Zambia got it’s political independence on a day like this one 54 years ago. The rest is history.

  12. Just watching the independence celebrations by real Zambians, really nice and successful with our guest His Excellency Emmerson Mnangagwa really entertained. I hope trib.al Hacks is not watching, otherwise he may drop dead necikonko, kabili that is why he stops his trib.al psycophants from celebrating….
Sorry ba hechi hechi, imwe bu Presido tamwaka bumonepo. If we decide to replace Edgar Lungu the replacement shall certainly not be you. You can be “president” of dead and directionless upnd, no problem. If you doubt me, let’s meet in 2021, not at the Concourt pleaseeee!!

    • Great piece. Our losing rejects can’t distinguish one day from another. On a great day like this, they rant and insult and assault due diligence and rule of law. They better heed the presidential valuable guidance in the article.

    • Iwe mposa mabwe ikalafye.
Na tea taunwine ati pa maka.
You are busy curtailing freedom of speech on LT.
You think by being a thorn in the flesh you have freedom! your heart is a prison my friend.Feed on those crambs and ware party regalia quietly not everyone lacks morals like you malalapie.

    • Freedom does not bring food, jobs and shelter to your table. Use you f*cking brains like GVBM once put it across Tayali in an insolent audio you have a chance of reviewing on youtube. You gotta hunt for them. Celebrate your freedom counting your blessings.

    • He thinks handing black mountain is creating employment for the youth typical dander head cadre with 0 IQ…. just take ur shelve and go and dig at black mountain koswe iwe
