Two Patriotic Front (PF), Councilors in Mushindamo district have commended government for its commitment towards ensuring that the new district develops quickly.
The two Councilors from Kang’wena and Kalilele wards said they are working closely with all government wings to ensure that the needs of the people are addressed.
In an interview with ZANIS, Kang’wena ward Councilor, Steven Kasono said since being elected into office, he has worked with the office of the District Commissioner and the Council to push for the rehabilitation of Lwenge and Fipasa feeder roads.
Mr Kasono appealed to government to connect power to Kichikwe primary school and the rural health post.
Meanwhile, Kalilele ward councillor Brenda Jatwa, has expressed happiness that most government officers that have been sent to work in the district are now residing in the area.
Ms Jatwa said with the council and the office of the District Commissioner being in the ward, it will be easy for people to take their problems to the right offices.
She called on government to quickly implement the women, youth and marketeer’s empowerment funds so that people can access them and start businesses that can better their lives.
