National Democratic Congress Consultant Chishimba Kambwili says there is nothing wrong with government listing ZAFFICO or any other company on the Lusaka Securities Exchange.
And Mr. Kambwili who said he is not aware that ZAFFICO has been sold says listing a company on the stock market is the only sure way of raising capital.
He says it will be wrong for anyone to reverse the listing of the company on the stock market describing such threats as retrogressive.
“That is absolutely retrogressive. there is nothing wrong with government listing any company on the stock market”, Mr. Kambwili said when he featured on the breakfast show on Hot FM.
Mr. Kambwili however said that government must ensure that the intererest of the local people is protected and not foreigners whether Chinese or South Africans when the Company is listed on the stock market.
And Mr. Kambwili said he is not clinging on to the PF but wants to prevent the creation of a by election which will be created once the seat is nullified.
“As long as the people of Roan Constituency do not ask me to leave, i will remain Member of Parliament and continue protecting the seat. No one can push me out of the PF as long as i dont want to leave, actually i have already left”, He said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kambwili said he has no reason to work with President Edgar Lungu due to the rampant corruption going on in his government.
“Even when am offered the position of Vice President i can’t go back to PF unless PF comes to the NDC, i cant work with them”, He said.
Everything else has rules in life but in politics there are no rules. If 5 corrupt leaders stood for election be assured that one of them will in office. CK is an example of a vision-less man and very dangerous who if given power even the devil would applaud him.
This is a man that got fired for corruption, from a pool of corrupt cabinet ministers.

ZAFFICO has alot plans that need alot of money. you can access money thru many ways getting loans is one of the ways but its expensive. listing on the LUSE is a cheaper way. the question would be WONT CHINESE participate in the buying of listed shares. if they will, then we are in problems because they have the money and they would want to buy alot of them to have a big say in decision making. thi sis where the issue should be. but if they say only zambians and zambian institutions( such as napsa, madsion, banks etc) must buy, then it will be ok. in this scenario, i would support listing of ZAFFICO on the LUSE. For a very long time the various opposition parties and individuals have been calling for the listing of parastatal companies including Zesco and even ZNBC. I am surprised that they have changed their stance when they wishes have been granted.

Unless ZAFFICO’s listing valuation share price reflects mineral deposits and revenue from current mining activities on its land, the share price will be grossly undervalued. Anyone with knowledge of value of these assets existing that are not included in the valuation will mop up the shares on the Lusaka Stock Exchange and move to own these assets at a bargain at the expense of Zambian people. This will effectively be robbing the people. The listing of ZAFFICO should not go forward unless the mineral deposits value on the land and revenue from current mining activities on it are included in the listing valuation.
Where’s is that mine located ? If it’s where I think, the license to that mine was issued long before PF came into power and I’m sure that government had good intentions to award that license. Besides undoing what a previous government started is why we are where we are today because FTJ didn’t want anything to do with Unip and KK.
If mineral deposits and current mining activity revenue is not included in the listing valuation of ZAFFICOs share price concerns about Chinese interests currently mining this land and that has knowledge of its mineral value wealth will buy up all the shares held from whom ever owns them on the exchange even if its Zambians at any price knowing that the price will still be grossly undervalued. This listing must not proceed unless this is rectified.

Comment: When a company on the security exchange, it is open to all regardless of ones origin. People are free to buy the shares. The only problem we face is ” saving/ investment “. We need to do more in the area of saving and investment…. Listing of a company is the surest way to raise cheap capital for recapitalization of a company.
