President Edgar Lungu has donated 55 thousand kwacha to Chilenje Reformed Church in Zambia through the Presidential Empowerment Initiative Fund (PEIF).

Speaking during the donation PEIF National Coordinator Clement Tembo implored the congregants to pray for President Lungu and for the wellbeing of the nation.

Mr Tembo said President Lungu is governing the country because God bestowed him with the knowledge to preside over the affairs of Zambia.

Meanwhile, Mr Tembo says the PEIF will remain impartial when it comes to empowering the vulnerable.

He said it wrong for some people to allege that the PEIF is selective when choosing whom to empower.

And in passing a vote of thanks, Reformed Church in Zambia, Church Secretary Dickson Banda assured the PEIF team that the money will be put to good use.

Mr Banda said the funds will go a long way in helping to complete the ongoing construction of the church.

He said the PEIF team is free to visit and check on the progress being made on the structure.

The 20 thousand kwacha from the 55 thousand kwacha will go towards the construction of the church while the block making machine valued at 35 thousand kwacha has been given to Chibvumbulutso church choir of the same church.

  1. 55 pin only ba presiding? Ninshi the church won’t get anything. That only goes to the pastor. Give millions!!

  2. Mr Tembo you are a fool, Do not and I repeat DO Not bring Gods namevinti your nonsense. Was your president able to give such monies to churches 5 years ago? Anyway with a name like yours, you lack capacity to think objectively because wako ni wako, please for goodness sakes think beyond your stomachs. Judgement day will surely come if not on this side if heaven then definitely in heaven. Gullible fool

  3. I think Africans are the only ones with a so called presidential empowerment slush fund……western countries have such funds to relevant ministries ….

  4. In primitive societies such activities are normal including hand outs, brown envelopes, any donation to exchange corruption, tyranny, cruelty and debase of individuals to be seen as good.

  5. Why not donate to that boarding school that doesn’t have enough classrooms and no boarding facilities where pupils rent from nearby tuntemba with noisy chain of bars???!!!! Which one is a more worthy cause???

  6. How i wish the President (ECL) can also empower our Church( Emmanuel Centre for Deliverance Ministries) in Kitwe- Bulangililo. We are also building the church structure, Mr Clement Tembo May you please consider us.

  7. What’s the legal basis and source of this fund? Are all the churches going to ‘benefit’? Aren’t there more areas with pressing needs, considering that church should be left in the private realm?

Ati….”because God bestowed him with the knowledge to preside over the affairs of Zambia” What an atrocious statement to make.
