The Ministry of Health has been awarded additional funding amounting to US$ 3.5 million by the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief for rapid expansion of cervical cancer screening services, especially for women with HIV.

Health Minister Dr. Chitalu Chilufya said the Ministry is delighted with the additional funding because it will be a catalyst towards rapid expansion and integration of cervical cancer screening among women with HIV who are receiving Antiretroviral Therapy services in high volume sites.

Dr. Chilufya has also welcomed the announcement by President George Bush on the new collaboration efforts that includes the George W. Bush Institute, PEPFAR and UNAIDS to move into the next phase of the public private partnership of developing a model, demonstrating a greater impact and reduction of deaths due to cervical cancer specifically in HIV positive women.

He said the Ministry immensely values the Partnership to End AIDS and Cervical Cancer because it will help in saving the lives of Zambian women from HIV and cervical cancer

This is according to a statement issued to the media by Ministry of Health Head of Media Relations Stanslous Ngosa.

  1. Busy receiving aid without shame ..why are you receiving aid when two months ago you returned £2.5 million because you couldn’t smoke out thieves among yourselves like Mcpherson Chanda (SUNDAY CHANDA’S BROTHER)…surely can you not find $3.5 million from your own sources???

    • Lungu does not have shame, that is true.

Remember how he was begging the Turkish president for help?

The donor community should look at themselves very hard. They are making things worse.

If Zambia can afford to be buying jets left, right, and centre for VVVVVIPs, surely they can afford these small amounts of money to fund medical and educational projects.

    • Ma, ma, ma. It’ll be looted.

Thats why prince Harry just donated elephants. He was told tht PF00Lish govt is a den of thieves.

  2. @Jay, you and I know we are governed by thieves. You can’t expect to engage them on what is morally right when they won’t even engage on what is logical/painfully obvious. We are a country that cannot account for our leaderships’ sudden wealth accumulation, yet can offer support/silence towards the unjust arrest of those that protest this blatant corruption. That we can allow an individual to appoint every member of a “constitutional court” to rule on an issue he is fully invested in, without so much as persistent line of questioning from our “media” should tell you we are a nation hoping for a lucky break as opposed to one that is in control of its own destiny. We are not a Christian nation, but rather, a nation too happy to let others do everything for us while we oppress our own…

    • …. We are not a Christian nation, but rather, a nation too happy to let others do everything for us while we oppress our own. He/she that recognizes this is the enemy, one to be jailed in a place with inhumane conditions. He that is an unproductive thieving citizen is worshipped. I don’t know how anyone reconciles that with the Bible, let alone the intent of our laws. That our children will inherit these failure is what really breaks my heart.

    • Imagine he is there begging $3.5 million from US to fight just causes yet they same people justify GRZ spending $60 MILLION on a private jet for less than 10 people…they say so Lungu can stretch his legs on a flight yet can not adequately fund health…what a shame.
You have morons on this site making comparisons between US and Zambia…shame on you!!!

  3. I thought USA was the west and people say they always have an agenda against the govt, why not send the $ 3.5 million back and go to your kaloba brothers in China, when the USA comments on something they have an agenda, but their money is sweet….. hypocrites, any way it wont be used for what it is meant for, it will end up in some pocket with this lot

  4. such comments will never help the country to develop. The beneficiaries are your own fellow brothers and sisters but for you everything is political. Even when the opposition comes to power they will receive assistance because thats how all govts work colleagues.

  5. Ba Jay Jay Problem bena ebakwatisha amano. On everything posted he bad things to say about the government. I wish could visit his house to see if everything is in order.

    • Why would you would want to visit or should I say inspect my house as if you help me pay expenses …you have no understanding of the difference between govt and myself..sit down!!

    • What’s there to talk about on this chipante pante sh!t hole govt full of kapanya’s and convicted debarred lawyers who stole from widow and money changers from katondo, a failed project, knee deep in debt that your grand children will still be paying off while these morons will be long dead with AIDS
