The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resource says there has been significant reduction of forgery on land title deeds this year.
Ministry of Land and Natural Resources Public Relations Officer, Diniwe Zulu said the ministry has recorded less than five cases of forgery in 2018 due to key measures put in place.
Ms. Zulu cited comprehensive procurement procedures and strict handling of documents by the officers as being among the measures that the ministry is currently under taking.
She told ZANIS in an interview yesteray that the ministry will continue to implement necessary measures in order to completely curb any possible forgery of title deeds in 2019.
When asked to comment on the delay of publication of the New Land Policy, Ms. Zulu said some stakeholders have been given chance to make their recommendations before the final approval of the policy.
She further stated that the drafted policy has been positively received by various stakeholders across the country, including the traditional authorities who recently sent in their recommendations after holding an indaba.
Ms. Zulu has assured the populace that the final documentation of the policy will be made public early next year and will aim at satisfying all the stakeholder expectations.
