The Ministry of Health says no cholera cases have been recorded in the country as is being reported in some sections of the media.

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary for Administration Dr. Kennedy Malama says messages being circulated on social media that 105 people have been admitted at Chilenje Level One Hospital are not true as no such cases have been recorded this week.

Dr. Chilufya said reports that Typhoid cases have also been recorded in Lusaka are not true.

He has however urged Zambians to observe high levels of hygiene to prevent the outbreak of water borne diseases in the country during this rainy season.

Dr. Malama said the Ministry of Health is heightening preventive measures to prevent any possible outbreak of the disease but emphasized that people must play their part by promoting hygiene at household level.

He added that the Ministry of Health is working with the Lusaka City Council in enhancing garbage collection in order to make clean and prevent the outbreak of diseases.

  2. Keep an eye on the trib.als, they are capable of contaminating the water supply. They will do anything to make what they erroneously think will be political mileage. Trib.als will never learn, I keep telling you…..
