The Zambia Association of musicians (ZAM) appoints Chaka Nyathando AKA Pompi and Mutale Kapaso as National Treasure and Publicity

The new appointees bring a wealth of professional experience to their respective roles

The Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) National Executive committee (NEC) has with immediate effect, announced the appointment of Chaka Nyathando AKA POMPI as National Treasurer and Mutale Kapaso as Publicity Secretary of the association following the resignation of Yahya Kaba aka KB and Brian Bwembya AKA BFlow who having made valuable contribution in their respective roles as National Treasurer and Publicity secretary have moved on to pursue other positive endeavours.

The role of National Treasurer has been assigned to Chaka aka Pompi, an international multi award winning artist, Innovative Entrepreneur and Thought leader who brings to the association His business acumen having graduated from Monash Business School as well as a wealth of experience as CEO of Atmosphere among other businesses.

Mutale Nkonde Kapaso, an award-winning Gospel artist takes on the role of Publicity Secretary and brings her substantial experience in communication and content curation having worked in the media industry for over 10 years. Mutale is the founder of New Era Youth Magazine and has managed high profile print publications such as Let It Flow Magazine, Xploits Magazine and South Africa’s AMI Publications owned by renowned Pastor Alph Lukau. In 2016, She championed Vodafone’s Youth Strategy, the JUMP Amalevels brand and digital platform. Mutale is currently acting Head of Brand, Communications and CSR for Vodafone.

Speaking on Behalf of the Association regarding these new appointments,  ZAM President, Mr Tivo SHikapwasha was pleased to note that both Pompi and Mutale are credible Artists with professional experience in their respective fields and that these new appointments reflect the association’s commitment to building a progressive and proficient association with professionals  that will use their gifts to serve the  Zambian artists and the music industry more effectively.

  1. They should have appointed a lady that wanted a position in the Art Council of Zambia some years back. She used to raise tantrums but she was ignored. It’s a pity that she opted to join politics instead of looking for an appointment in the Arts Council.

  2. Lekeni ukukumbwa umwaice wandi Mutale Nkonde. She’s not only brillant outside but inside aswell. A real jewel of Bembaland.. wishing her more success in her new job at ZAM.

  3. If you could have less musicians in ZAM, it would thrive. Putting musicians and expecting them to be professional is not going to help the association.
