    • The way I know these guys they will use K50 million of that on luxury SUVs, K20million on useless workshops where they never implement the nonsense that they agree to. Meanwhile you a tax payer will visit the office of so and so at the council only to be told they have attended a work shop in Lusaka. The remaining will be spilt between allowances, salaries and only the little that remains will go to patching potholes and garbage collection for those key areas will rather donors and we’ll wishers fund them.

We will never develop with this attitude.

    • Talk of a half baked story! Do you reporters know what you are reporting about? When I look through your story I can’t find what you went to report about.
The Kitwe City Council (KCC) has proposed to spend about K183.34 million in the 2019 financial year.
Spend On what? It’s the breakdown of what the money will be spent on that makes the story. Paragraph after paragraph nikuwayawaya Che ba reporter. How much was spent in the past year? I think I will start my own newspaper even without journalism qualifications

  1. “…..the proposed revenue is more than the approved budget for 2018 by K5.5 million, which represents 3 percent increment….”.
    Are you saying:
    1. You will collect more revenue than required?
    2. Or are you erroneously comparing apples to bricks, as in revenue and budget?
    3. What represents 3% increment, revenue or budget?

Strange financials to me, is it the LT reporter?
A trib.al analysis would probably clarify this better than me, they thrive on confusion. Jay Gay, this is where you come in, please advise, but read first.

  2. Tucili tuledabwa! They fail to mend potholes in their backyard; what else do you expect them to spend money on apart from salaries, weekend allowances, holiday allowances, travel and some “mysterious pocket”!

  3. Acting Kitwe Mayor Everisto Chilufya said “The public relations office should publicise numerous project being undertaken in the city for the community to appreciate.” There is no need Mr. Acting Mayor, we can see how you are filling pot holes with waste rock all over the city! Though it seems to be a losing battle as there more pot holes popping up (or is it popping down), with the help of the heavily laden Chapamo tippers!

  4. Do the council even have qualified road engineers?Same pot holes are mended year in year out.
Give the mending and patching up of roads to the Chinese.
    You are not serious.
