President Edgar Lungu has encouraged Trade Kings Limited and Kafue Steel to build businesses that create wealth not only for the company but for the entire value chain.

The President was speaking when he held a closed door meeting with Trade Kings Chief Executive Officer Iqabal Patel, Director Communications, Group Engineers Enerst Mande and Justine Kaoma who is the Director Technical Kafue Steel.

Presidential spokesperson Amos Chanda said the President wants the entire value chain to involve Zambians and briefed a team from Trade Kings of his incognito visit to Cross Roads Shopping Mall to see how peasant farmers are being engaged by chain stores.

He said using the model of trade Kings, other companies must also start adding value to their products which will result in increased exports and bring forex into the country.

Mr. Chanda said Trade Kings also updated the Head of State on their expansionary plans including the partnership with Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines-Iinvestment Holdings in the Multi facility economic zone.

He said Trade Kings and ZCCM-IH are in the process of building one of the biggest manufacturing plants in Southern Africa which President Lungu fully supports.

And Mr. Chanda said President Lungu has directed Commerce Minister Trade and Industry Minister Christopher Yaluma to ensure that all bureaucratic bottlenecks that slow down industrialization are taken out immediately.

He has also encouraged National Pensions Scheme Authority, the Industrial Development Corporation and the ZCCM-IH to partner with Trade Kings if they find their projects viable.

  1. Too late Air Mile President of the sky .While you have been in the air the profits from mineral has been externalized .

  2. To create value and have above -average return you don’t need meetings at the state house, unless it is a take over or bankruptcy.Use forces of model tools to create value like pestle ,SWOT,VRIO and Value chain .You have been in the business for a long time and you know all the corporate strategies. If not, employ me and we will work together to create synergy when we merge with other small companies. We can even try backward integration by acquiring suppliers of raw materials and will give us competitive advantage over our competitors

  3. #3, the trib.al speaks. We cannot mistake you for anything less than trib.al, that is typical of the language of the trib.als and their party.

    • Mr. President sir, while you are working hard to stimulate business and create jobs Pensions and Insurance Authority is closing insurance companies. The deputy registrar is on the payrolls of foreigners and is bent upon giving bad picture of Zambian owned companies. He has given a doctored report to the board about Innovate insurance, meanwood Insurance, African grey insurance and Focus Insurance.
He has refused to renew their licences.

  4. The President should be talking to his ministers to come up with a holistic strategy to roll out relevant activities in all the value chains.
