MultiChoice Zambia finally suspends the airing of Lusaka Hustle Show

Share

MultiChoice Zambia has said in the statement that the TV reality show has been suspended with immediate effect.

MultiChoice Zambia says they received a notice from the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) to stop airing the program and the company decided to comply with the directive.

IBA stated that the program promoted ideas and lifestyle that the authority was not keen Zambians to be exposed to.

Multichoice however said that the firm will appeal the directive to understand the correct interpretation of the law on the matter.

MultiChoice said they were keen to promote local content on their TV channels but however, respected the laws of the country.

Lusaka Hustle is a TV reality show on Zambezi Magic and features artist Mukuni Mulundika(Kuni), and hip-hop recording artist and rapper, Cleo Ice Queen (Clementina Mulenga), and Thandi.

But its the contraversial personality of Kuni that drew sharpest criticism with his cross-dressing and apparent gay lifestyle that riled audiences and prompted both the IBA and Minister of National Guidance & Religious Affairs, Rev Godfridah Sumaili to raise the red flag.

  1. Job well done. Like it or not, Zambians are still not developed to accept fag lifestyle. A country that to this day strips women naked for wearing mini skirts is not ready to have a flaming H0M0$EXUAL on the airwaves.
You can say “but but the USA, but but the UK…”!Well this is Zambia!

    • Look here, we are Africans. Whether you like it or not, this is an affront to our sense of decency. No one has the right to force us to accept what we consider taboo in the name of “progress”. Try forcing your customs on western nations and see how that works for you. Respect our Africanness just as we respect your Europeanness.
Europeans have accepted homo llifestyle since ancient Greece and ancient rome. We never have. Accept it

    • …..authority was not keen Zambians to be exposed to. Yet the same authority exposes people to corruption, violence during by elections, poor education standards (that is, if we have any standards left in public schools), and the list is endless. This issue of claiming to be a christian nation and only to steal from the poor while they have their eyes crossed, exporting their brothers/sisters as maids.

    • Is this the censorship board or the IBA? Are they here to decide what we watch? So Soviet Union?
Ati IBA stated that the program promoted ideas and lifestyle that the authority was not keen Zambians to be exposed to.
Who is Mapoma to decide for 18 million Zambians what to watch?

    • Zambians don’t have to suck peniises to make the movie industry big. Do you want it like Hollywood were child stars were almost all molested by adults, boys and girls? Please answer yourself.

    • That’s nonsense regardless of what’s showing. In the.name of growing.Come on something shouldn’t be politicised for the sack of just opposing. A wrong is a wrong.

    • The show itself is substandard, poorly developed and this whole homosexuality issue has been the perfect Trojan horse for getting it off air. I have no issues with Kuni – what he does is his business – but if I pay my electricity and DSTV subscription to watch sub-standard, try hard TV content, I’ll be more than happy to see this show off air. Good riddance.

  2. My opinion is we have no advise from the medical society, but personaly, this should not be made a publick acceptance. Honestly not acceptable, should not be public per ser.

  3. It’s only a fu who can support that dirty thing in the eyes of God,God create a man and a woman not a man and a man remember this is the end of days even those who support guys will go to hell the Satan is trying by all means to destroys the earth remember it’s only a fu who can support that

  4. Let the rubbish copy cut movies stay in there rotten minds. Shame on the supporters and actors of this dirty movie.

  5. For sure this reality is dirty and stinks. We done government. Let them take it to south africa where morals have gone to the dogs. I love the solidarity everyone has shown on this platform.

  6. God’s word cannot be broken, a wrong is a wrong and if you support this relocate. God is alive and he is never late nor early he watches. Only canal minds will support this decay.

  7. well done DSTV by obeying the feelings of the zambians thank you very much now you are our partners in business
HOMOSEXUALITY is evil defeating human reasoning not even DOGS understand it. there is no modernity in being GAY WHAT EVER THE NAMES OF IT just depravity of human morality

  8. Thank you multichioce and thanks to the minister of religious affairs this what she should have been doing all along not telling us nonsense that voting for PF is voting for Jesus

  9. Zambians hate you if you dont conform. Everyone pa zed basicaly does what everyone does. I dont really believe homosexuality can be “promoted”,it’s either there or it is not. I saw nothing wrong with the show except maybe their idea of hustling. Board a bus in Lusaka and you will see hustle from the conductor.
    Kuni was fascinating

  10. Its a shame to me to see that Zambian can only be shown what the gorvenment want them to see and religion is used to prevent them from being open minded but stereo typed. If you dont like the program why dont you just change the channel?? Is it the gay thing that they are using or is there ideas that are opening Zambian to the real world?? I agree gay and lasbians thing is taboo for a “christian nation” but why are you not given choice to chose and treated like children. Know the difference between christianity and religion.
