Share

For a second successive match, Nkana on Saturday snatched another last minute draw on the road in Pool B of the 2019 FAZ Super Division.

Nkana battled back from one-zero to draw 1-1 with Pool B leaders Green Eagles in Choma.

Tapson Kaseba put Eagles ahead from a 73rd minute penalty converted but Simon Bwalya stole a point for the visitors in stoppage time.

The result came just four days after Ronald Kampamba scored another stoppage time equalizer in Nkana’s 2-2 away draw at second placed Nkwazi in Lusaka.

Nkwazi on the other hand drew 0-0 away in Ndola at third placed Buildcon at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Eagles have 29 points, Nkwazi are on 26 points while Buildcon have 25 points after fifteen games with three matches left to play.

Nkana stay seventh on 17 points from twelve games played with two matches in hand.

Meanwhile in Pool A, defending champions Zesco United have taken top spot following a 2-1 away win over relegation battling promoted side Prison Leopards.

Jesse Were scored a second half brace for Zesco in the 50th and 88th minutes while Liya Landu was on target with Prison’s lone goal in the 75th minute.

Zesco jump from second to first on 27 points, one more than Zanaco who drop from number one to fourth on 26 points following a stunning 2-0 home loss at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka to third placed Kabwe Warriors.

Akakulubelwa Mwachiaba put Warriors ahead in the 46th minute and Jimmy Ndhlovu added the second goal four minutes later to score his second in as many games.

Warriors are level on 26 points with Zanaco after completing back-to-back league wins over the seven-time champions this season.

In second place are Red Arrows who tied on 27 points with Zesco following a 1-0 home win over Kitwe United thanks to a Paul Katema 46th minute goal.
