South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Dr. Naledi Pandor has said that President Lungu has been clear that he will not tolerate disorder and abuse of South African businesses in Zambia

Speaking to SABC Morning live today and monitored by the Zambian Mission in Pretoria, South Africa, Dr. Pandor said no report of further attacks on South African business had so far been recorded in Zambia.

According to a statement released to the media by the Zambia Embassy in Pretoria, Dr. Pandor said that the South African embassies that were closed across Africa will soon be opened.

Dr Pandor said her Ministry will be meeting diplomats today accredited to that country to find lasting solutions to the violent attacks against foreign nationals in that country.

Yesterday, fresh wave of violent attacks erupted in Johannesburg CBD, where two deaths of unknown nationals have been recorded and shops looted overnight.

Police was forced to separate foreign nationals from their apartments to prevent attacks.

  1. ….and what did he have to say about south African’s abuse of Zambians and their businesses in south Africa?
all he cares is about being seen like this noble guy outside.
I surely hope you guys remember all these issues when it’s time to vote. no one is standing up for you, prices for pretty much anything but p f outfits is sky high. Zambian is being shared by those in p f and some foreigners, Zambians are being displaced without proper compensation

    • The president can’t encourage the trashing of biggest tax payers, period. You can rant as much as you want or jump up and down as much as you want. You can change your vote as many times as you want, bit in coming president will never encourage the trashing of biggest tax payers

    • South African President Malema has also said the same about him not allowing abuse on Africans in South Africa according to a joint communique issued by HH and Malema.

    • And you call Lungu a President….we know they all get ARV’s at Milpark Clinic in South Africa….so they wont act tough because otherwise no ARV’s for his entire government…….Lungu has no spine and no wonder he is being bullied by Kambwili

  2. mulenga who told you that south African retail and grocery franchises are Zambia’s biggest tax payers?
    where did you study taxation?
and according to your line of thought, tax revenue is worth more than a person’s life?
    sit your as s down!

    • Taxes buy maize to feed starving Zambians. The president cares about his citizens. I bet my last cent, even if you vote new president he will still the same. You don’t have to study taxation to know the obvious. I doubt if you are contributing to Zambian fiscus.

  3. BUT WILL HE TOLERATE ZAMBIANS BEING HARRASED BY SOUTH AFRICANS? JUST LIKE HE WON’T TOLERATE IT HE SHOULD EXPLICITLY MAKE IT CLEAR THAT SOUTHAFRICA SHOULD GET ITS PEOPLE IN LINE. LET HIM SPEAK TO HIS FELLOW COUNTRYMEN FOR ONCE AS A LEADER

    • According to the South African Transport Allied Workers Union (Satawu) media officer Zanele Sabela, two Translux buses carrying 56 passengers were travelling to Johannesburg when they were shot at.
Sabela said one driver died immediately and the bus crashed into a barrier which brought it to a halt.
“The second driver was shot in the stomach and he managed to apply the handbrake and brought the bus to a complete stop.  He was taken to hospital and is currently in ICU,”she added.
Sabela said the buses usually leave for the same destination 10 to 15 minutes apart and “this is likely why the two drivers were attacked one after the other.”
The passengers from the two buses were later transported to Park Station, Johannesburg.
Sabela said the unions were calling on authorities to…

  4. South African authorities do not respect Africans from the rest of Africa. Africans and Zambians in particular must show South Africans that barbarism cannot be tolerated anymore. The only language which barbarian understand is counter barbarism. Zambians must inform the barbarians that no single group of people has a monopoly over violence. The violence that is being perpetuated by barbarians can be perpetrated by the victims as well. Keep it up to the UNZA students who peacefully marched to South African emabassy and businesses. They must do it again because that is the only way through which sanity can be introduced in South Africa. When simple Zambian and Nigerian students stood up and faced the giant (South Africa), suddenly the SA government pannicked.

    • South Africa is the biggest investor in Zambia. You kick out South African companies ordinary Zambians will suffer and the rest of other investors will follow suit.

  5. Lungu cares about foreigners businesses than the life of Zambians,he wants south Africans to see him as good leader.its one and the same you child is fighting with neighbor’s child and you don’t support your own.

  6. South African government does not respect Africans from the rest of Africa. Africans and Zambians in particular must show the S.A. government that barbarism cannot be tolerated anymore. The only language which barbarians understand is counter barbarism. Zambians must inform the barbarians that no single group of people has a monopoly over violence. The violence that is being perpetuated by barbarians can be perpetrated by the victims as well. Keep it up UNZA students and, I respect you all for peacefully marching to the South African embassy and businesses. Please, do it again because that is the only way through which sanity can be introduced in South Africa. 7. Fact: South African businesses combined are biggest tax payers in Zambia. Prove me wrong and tell me which Zambian company is the biggest tax payer in Zambia. Patiently waiting

    • @7 Mulenga
No wonder they’re coming after you with machetes…..just pack your katundu and head back home…they don’t want your praises or whatever thing that you are doing in RSA

    • South African Companies are not the biggest taxpayers… Before I proof to you tell us which South African Companies are those? Its a poor mind that can tolerate the killing of others on the basis of survival. Jesus said Love your neighbour as you love yourself. If your lovely relative is killed in South Africa, can you say its OK because South African companies are big taxpayers?? Its easy for you to say that because you either have not heard that your relative is not a victim or you have no relative there……

  8. A caring president indeed. He does not care how much Zambians are being hacked to death in SA. All that he cares about is SA businesses in Zambia and not those gruesome hackings we are seeing of foreigners including Zambians in SA. Can someone please show him those videos we all fear to watch. Does he really enjoy seeing people being chopped limb by limb in SA. This is really being cold blooded. Please someone to show him those videos and if he is serious he would change his line of thinking and have a heart of a human being. Sure SA businesses in Zambia are worth more than all those that are being killed in SA. Cant stop crying. Who will protect us sure. Chufundo ine!!!!
    Disaster leaders!!!!

  9. Zambia is not a tenth province of South Africa and Dr Lungu must not act as if he is a caretaker. Dr Lungu is an elected president of a sovereign state which is only answerable to its citizens or nationals. Dr Lungu must tell the South African president that he is entrusted by Zambians to protect them and their reasonable and lawful interests. Dr Lungu must inform the Ramaphoza administration that he is not interested in useless rhetoric and unhelpful round table talks. Zambia and other African states survived under severe economic hardships during the apartheid era without trading with South Africa. Currently, Zambia is much stronger than previously. Additionally, and notably, South African stands to lose immensely if Zambia or other African states cut ties with SA. The SA government is…

    • Zambia market is very small and is a low income. SA survived without African market for years. The biggest SA market is north America, Europe, Asia and China. In August alone SA exported over 100 000 news cars to the rest of the world and 900 to the African market. Enjoy your driving your used 1998 Toyota Corolla imported from Japan.

    • You must gather facts and tally them with recent credible research works. Your arguments are dead on arrival, thus, they are non-starters. South Africa does not manufacture motor vehicles, rather, it only assembles them. Most of the major vehicular parts are imported from Japan, Germany, United Kingdom, United States of America, Sweden, South Korea and China. Most of the heavy industries shifted their core business interests from South Africa. This country is just a ruminant of an industrialised nation. Most of the so-called industries are warehouses in SA. South Africa cannot compete with the aforementioned countries, because it is only an agent of such nations. Stop spreading lies because SA is fighting to have a small share of the emerging and expanding African market. Most Africans…

    • South Africa cannot compete with the aforementioned countries, because it is only an agent of such nations. Stop spreading lies because SA is fighting to have a small share of the emerging and expanding African market. Most Africans are young and provide tangible opportunities.

  10. Currently, Zambia is much stronger than previously. Additionally, and notably, South Africa stands to lose immensely if Zambia or other African states cut ties with SA. The SA government is not in a position to dictate terms to Zambia. Times have changed and the SA government does not have sufficient funds for buying any allegiance. All South African businesses are capitalist entities and their principal interest is money. They repatriate all the accumulated profits back to South Africa from other African states and, particularly, Zambia. A portion of the same profits are given to the SA government in form of taxes, yet, these humdrums here kill and maim innocent people who support parasitic South African companies. Enough is enough and I want to see and meet these embacils in hell. I…

  11. I hate them including their dogs and cats. I do not like the way they think, walk and talk. I have an appointment with them in hell.

    • $ Irrational Mulenga
I am very educated and I feed many of these visionless creatures here in SA. They are too lazy, yet, these pinkish inactive violent creatures want to be conferred with degrees for doing nothing. They need me more than I do. Besides, I can do without them. I am independent and I’m not obliged to support motivated heartless cold-blooded murderers and clowns. Wake up and employ informed decisions. Stop arguing blindly and following your rotten instincts. I dislike pretenders and straight face liars who befriend me during the day while they intend killing in the dead of the night. Go to hell together with these haters here in SA. I like my skin colour and I am a proud original black matter. What you see is exactly what you get.

  12. We will show him whose boss in 2021.In fact I’m eagerly waiting to know how the fire fighting machines, ambulances, 48 houses were procured and all the nonsense that has happening with public funds will unfold once we elect a responsible president.

  13. That’s one bad aspect of politians… Pretense. Smiling when you not supposed to. Even when you don’t agree at least you have to node your head in agreement with nonsense.

  14. Mulenga is just being Mulenga.
Am sure y’all remember Mulenga and Jelita? Yes, don’t take him seriously. he’s
looking for fun. unfortunately, this is no kindergarten.

  15. WHAT SURPRISE MOST IS PEOPLE LIKE SHARON ON SUCH THEY CAN COMMENT BUT REAL ISSUES OF WHICH MAKE OUR LIVE IMPORTANT SHE DOESN’T COMMENT.KIKIKI

  16. We need each other in this relationship full stop. South Africans have given us Zambians the respect we deserved and it’s only a few rouge ones which are painting a bad picture and getting carried away. We need to hug and kiss as quickly as possible so that we can resume business as usual.

  17. We all accept that South African businesses must be protected from looting but the President made no statement about foreigners being killed in SA until the UNZA students woke him up from his hang over and his first statement was to condemn the attack of SA businesses.

  18. @Postoctoral. I have touched a raw nerve. You are too irrational and you don’t sound educated if you cannot handle a honest debate with a high school dropout. The notation of insulting SAns as lazy is old fashioned and unfounded more especially coming from the so called educated person like you. Put facts on the table to show that they are lazy, if we compare the economy of Zambia and that of SA, and their natural resources one can conclude that Zambians are lazy but i don’t want to go there. Who said you you hate your own skin? Do South Africans hate their own skins? Skin lightening lotions are a big sell in Zambia and they are banned in SA.
Are you still educated? To me you are certificated not educated.

You are right when you said SA does not manufacture cars, but they…

  19. its time zambia started acting like a grown up capable of taking care of self other wise will continue beeing strong countries favorite prostitute

  20. how can these naive *****s so called students destroy companies owned by SA 70% of Zambians are employed by the same let these UNZA pupils know that much of the Zambian lively hood depends on S.A business.& what happens if they decide to go who’s going to suffer it’s our own Zambian citizen.
