Nevers Mumba calls upon President Lungu to address the Nation

Share

New Hope Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) President Dr. Nevers Mumba has called upon Republican President Edgar Lungu to urgently address the Nation.

Dr. Mumba asked President Lungu to find it in his heart to face the Nation and address the Nation on a number of pertinent issues that have gripped the Nation.

Dr. Mumba highlighted the following 8 issues which President Lungu needed to address.

1. The Gassing

2. The growing occurrence of Mob Injustice.

3. The Spiritual or Ritual Aspects of these crimes,

4. The growing careless accusations flying around from party to party as to who is behind (1) above,

5. The Proposed Round Table dialogue or meeting with all stakeholders to restore calm and confidence.

6. Please re-assure the nation that the government is firmly in control and that these things will soon be resolved,

7. Suspicions surrounding the proposed door to door blood testing and collecting exercise currently underway under the hand of the Ministry of Health,

8.Allow the nation to freely engange you in a Question and Answer session through the media so that at the end of the day, no one will be left behind and we can all move forward as a united country.

Dr. Mumba then said that if these issues were addressed then the nation would be healed.

“I believe that it is the uncertainty surrounding the above matters that are keeping the Nation in a perpetual state of anxiety and panic; and that once resolved, will allow us to move in to a more productive discourse”, Dr. Mumba said.

  1. Last week Mumba had prayers and holy communion at which loaves of bread where shared in the spirit of “healing”” the nation. What has happened after munching the bread?

    • These preachers are the worst conmen to have appeared on this planet. One can only get to the rationale of the catholic church that truly gives not gets and sexually abuses women. Looking for them to rush to China to go and cure Covid virus they will make billions. but the *****s will say they prophesised and end when the vaccine is about to be made.

As parties time to find a solution PF,UPND pls come together for Zambia.

      Thanka

  2. What is he going to say …..?

That our plan to get the opposition blamed for the gassing has backfired ???

Looks to me like the opposition don’t want give lungu a way out by getting together with lungu and uniting the nation. They are watching him and pf dance pelepete eith the economy.

We understand opposition are now opposed to any meeting or effort lungu can call to unite the country……..the status quo suits the opposition , the way things are going

  3. This President is such a disappointment. These are the times we need to hear the father of the nation speak words of wisdom he choose to be quite, docile and I don’t care kind of attitude . In a proper house when you have a father who doesn’t communicate with his children know that something is wrong therefore, abuse is inevitable..Please Dr Chagwa change your attitude we need you sir

  4. Dr Mumba is right, we don’t need prayers but an address from the President. If he can’t address us, then he’s not a leader, to lead us. And he hs to pave way for a leader.

  5. Just accept we have no President in Zambia at the moment and you will be free…Lungu is incapable of addressing those issues: look at the FIC Report or the 48 houses Report we have never had a feedback.

  6. Addressing the nation cant be a solution to the issue at hand, what we want is a solution. What if the man addresses the nation and his address is hollow as usual. We want a solution please. Nevers, stop misleading your colleague, this issue is beyond just an address. There is need also to remove people in key positions who have failed to bring this situation to a halt

  7. Iam pleased with the way MMD party president is addressing issues.Thats what we expect from opposition parties.Mature dialogue and communication not Lungu has failed to govern ,please offer advise and solutions after all Zambia is bigger than any individual.iam really loving Dr Nevers Mumba.Lets as a nation unite and solve our problems not calling on Scotland Yard to come in and help .we are a poor nation we can’t foot there bill .Just look at cost of just security of protecting the Royal family it’s way beyond our dreams to seek services of Scotland Yard.

  8. Lungu is like a rabbit caught in the vehicle’s headlamps he is frozen …the man has been exposed and he has not got a clue what to do or say. We told you that this man is incapable of leading a nation. We need a mind set change get rid of all this waste…Zambia deserves better …

  9. To anyone with common sense of which there appears to be very few in this country please the way we stop this violence is as follows:
Identify which is the greater threat to peace the alledged gassing or the instant mob justice? From the damage caused and deaths we know it’s the instant mob justice gangs! So what do we do? We arrest all ring leaders and those involved with incitement regardless of party affiliation, have them paraded and sent to court for murder, arson, damage to public property, riotious behaviour etc etc when they are made example of you will see that no criminal mob justice gangs will even be seen anymore, after order is restored then you can begin the investigations into this alledged gassing to determine whether these cases are real or just pure hysteria. That is…

  10. Ctn…That is my two cents of advice.
Remember the victims of these instant mob gangs, please remember the victims they died because of lies and hysteria created by some politicians, selfish ignorant members of the public and the media, so sad!

  11. UPND have no agenda for Zambia. All they know is just ranting around and condemning and insulting Zambians. They have so much bitterness and hate in their hearts. 2021 they are losing again and their HH retire completely and for good from the political arena. SATANISTS WHO FEAST ON HUMAN BLOOD!

  12. I like the approach, maturity and the wisdom of Dr.Nevers Mumba offering solutions and advise is the right way to go about these criticle issues sorounding us not everytime blaming without offering any solution we will be moving in circles whilist others are developing.

  13. 2020vision

You can not fix the problem without fixing the PF cader mob rule and violence…..
That is the immediate issue….PF cader mob rule untouchable by ZP.
The main underlying cause of this is economic and an economy that is based on foundamentalist Christian black magic spiritual values…. I don’t see how lungu and PF can fix this without uniting the whole country and instead basing the economy on talent and entrepreneurs

    PMK

People are being burned alive in pf strongholds by fellow Zambians , while lungu and ZP watch, how is this the fault of UPND ??? UPND is not in power , and the underlying problems are economic.

  14. Despite his poor health while in office of president and a road accident-induced stammer, late LPM subjected himself to long press interviews during special moments in the life of the country. He knew that was part of letting the electorate know wht he was doing in their name. Compare to ECL who’s enjoying very good health and now facing a special moment in the life of the country. He’s just there going about things as before. Who will reassure people? Wht will they believe?

  15. They can be no dialogue with stakeholders from the political divide because the price to pay will be too much for lungu and pf….

Come 2021 , the opposition will demand disbanding of cader mobs , free and fair elections with forigne election observers , there is too much mistrust of ECZ , look what happened in chilubi.

Only those corruptly enjoying the sweet of power would bulk and find such reasonable demands not normal……

  16. Because the underlying fault lines this countries people face are economic ……after this spate of hytyria filled by allegations of gassing has passed and people still realise their economic situation has not changed ,

    I predict wide spread riots,

god forbid and I hope I am wrong.

  17. Dr Mumba has raised the issue of suspicion surrounding the proposed door to door blood testing by the Ministry of Health. This will be costly for the government. What’s prompted this move? What are they testing for? I think the Ministry will struggle to get everyone to consent to this, and you cannot forcibly take blood from people.

  18. A president of a nation leads the entire nation and not only party loyalists. There is so much confusion in the country because of lack of leadership. How on earth can a president keep quite on issues of Terror in the name of ritual killings? either he knows the terrorists or just dont give a damn, to a point where the wife made a laughable stunt by pretend tears…..Ba kaponya are running the show and the man is scared to hell, given that the cadres installed him as leader and boy will they demand things… I cant wait for the truth to come out..

  19. I agree to an extent with @2020 vision. Without even getting into the ‘gassing’, we need to stop the senseless killing by the mobs. This is where we need robust no nonsense leadership to clamp down firmly on this ruthless mindless behaviour. The killings in my opinion show the clear divide in Zambia. There is on one hand a cohort of ‘educated’ elitists, those who have come to riches by crook or hook and politicians enmeshed in self aggrandizement and doing anything to preserve the status quo – and on the other hand, those left outside with poor education, no economic survival ground, catching at the straws, ignorant and open to any narrative however absurd, as they have never known otherwise. The latter’s ignorance has been used for votes and doing the bidding of politicians to cause…

  20. … chaos, maim or kill each other. I wouldn’t be surprised if this whole ‘gassing’ issue was a ‘strategy’ to implicate some, for political gain, but has now all gone wrong.

  21. May God Bless President Lungu, his family and Administration with peace and good success and comfort all around. May God deliver them and the Nation from the mouth of the Dog and Lion and put an end to the wickedness of the wicked.

    In Jesus name we Pray

    Amen

    • You need to learn how prayer is conducted. You cant go on Lusaka times and print a prayer, it never works that way. Even these ruling politicians who go for day of prayer reconciliation and fight and insult the opposition the next day are far better than your posted pray. Kneel down and pray, not these jokes. You will end up like Kaizar if you are not serious

  22. Bane…surely I don’t think we know what we are playing with. We can call each other names and laugh about it now but do we realize that our CARELESS TRIBAL POSTS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO START A CIVIL WAR in our country? Some of our political leaders are trying to divide us on tribal lines and we are helping them do that rather than standing up for our nation and say we are all Zambians never mind our tribe or region. That’s the only stand that will save this blessed country. We MUST be careful. The worst conflicts are those based on tribal differences (see Rwanda). My heart bleeds when I read what some people are posting because I know what this can lead to. We will all be the losers in the end. All of us whether Bemba or Tongas or PF or UPND. Let us stand as one and save our nation…

  23. For people who may not be in the know be advised that what you are seeing in Zambia is failure. Though I am not sure how ready the opposition is to take over , no doubt that what you are starring at in this country is failure – high inflation, no reserves, high unemployment with no solution in sight, this is all failure. Instead of development in constituencies what you have is questionable sporadic donations which don’t take people anywhere. I hear they have now stopped distributing mealie meal in Chilubi, he is now constructing a bridge in Kacholola, just disturbing them engineers

  24. IF THE PRESIDENT SAYS THAT HE IS OFFERING K250,000 TO ANYONE WHO WILL FIND OUT WHO IS GASSING PEOPLE, THEN YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT WE ARE IN TROUBLE. BECAUSE THE PRESIDENT IS IMPLYING THAT HE DOES NOT TRUST HIS POLICE AND HIS SECURITY AND HIS INTELLIGENCE SYSTEM. COULD THIS BE THE REASON WHY THE PEOPLE ARE TAKING THE LAW IN THEIR OWN HANDS?

  25. Our president has become a bishop, go to church on sunday, he will be giving his address there through preaching the bible. Does that address your concern, pastor Nervous?

  26. Yes, president Chipampe has already addressed the nation. I don’t know wht else u want. All is well in this the only Christian nation on the planet, amen. This is God’s country.

  27. You all know the perpetrators of all this nonsense. Why pretend? The state is just trying to come up with air tight set of evidence so that once caught and brought to court it wont as usual outcry of politically motivated or trumped up charges agaist them and the crying out to international community for unconditional release. NO! We know them and they know that

  28. Angoni: Where are the chosen tribes u wrote about in wht u circulated on WhstApp? I thought they would be different since they’re supposed to rise above everyone else? These are the illusions of grandeur that made Chitimukulu suggest a Council of paramount chiefs in Bill No.10.

  29. A leader is only expected in 2021. Right now we are in a visionless mode. No one knows what’s happening as so called leader is busy mumpoto

  30. Mr President please address the nation,We are your employers n we deserve to hear our servant to tell us what’s going on. You are losing ground if you decide to not heed this call.

  31. Sorry but clueless lazy Lungu doesn’t have the ability to do what you’re requesting, Dr. Mumba. He’s completely incompetent, worse than Zuma. I cannot understand why PF has not asked this guy to resign already, like ANC did with Zuma. What kind of leader is this who goes into hibernation when the country desperately needs his assurance and comfort? Completely incompetent. The guy doesn’t even qualify to be a dog catcher. He needs to resign. Any other PF member can do better than this guy. What a tragedy for Zambia.
