Share

The government has called for a stakeholder meeting comprising government ministries to raise awareness on the Coronavirus.

Information Minister DORA SILIYA says the meeting set for Wednesday next week will comprise Ministries of Home Affairs, Communication, and Transport, Information and Broadcasting among others.

Ms SILIYA who is also Chief Government Spokesperson says the meeting will come up with a systematic message on Coronavirus for members of the public.

She says there is a need to raise awareness on the virus and urged the media to come up with programs to sensitize the public.

Ms SILIYA was speaking in Petauke when she addressed heads of government departments.

She said Coronavirus should not be taken lightly as Zambia is also capable of recording a case.

Ms SILIYA is in her constituency meeting people to discuss and inspect development projects.

  1. This is long overdue but better late than never.

The Corona Virus is such a serious emergency, we cannot afford to be caught wanting. It is probably the worst pandemic since the European Influenza of the 1920s.

    Some tips to stay safe:

Wash your hands at all times before you touch your mouth

    Avoid shaking hands if possible

Avoid drinking from unclean or unwashed cups or glasses or any other eating or drinking utensil

Avoid large crowd gatherings if possible

    Be safe!

  2. Finally that was in last second, but remember to get the hole Government involved otherwise is there a big risk for a totally wipeout of the Zambia Health system. and thousand´s of Zambians will die.

  3. Just look at her wig and nails, how can this seemingly whore from Addis Ababa Avenue honestly be a cabinet minister in any country? There must be a code of conduct for government officials especially at this level, imagine she is in the US, UK or EU negotiating our loan scheduling, who would listen to a fat harlot like this one, this stinks!

  4. I am not interested in all this stuff. I do not care whether the country gets corona virus or not but what I care is to know why Spax case of murder is being treated far different from all cases we have come to know of in Zambia. Why is the police treating the nation as though we are all complete fo0ls in this country? I also want to know the kind of syringes that were found on late Hakuyu (MHSRIP). IG said the syringes were going to be subjected to exams. We need results. Who is the lawyer representing Spax or is he being questioned in absence of lawyer? IG I need answers. Jokes aside.

  5. Excellent news. Those asking about spaxx or whatever the young boy is called , you can get that information from the police itself. Don’t be ignorant

  6. So the plan to combat an infectious disease is to bring people together for a large workshop. Really? Most people in the world now are talking about postponing large meetings and stopping unnecessary travel (…which in any case I thought was long part of the “plan” in Zambia as part of so-called austerity). Nope, better have a big meeting instead.

  7. “Zambia is also capable of recording a case” ???? It’s not a competition bane.
Am with you Spuds, maybe after they gather they will talk about not gathering. They should probably call another meeting about the meeting before the meeting.

  8. You would expect the President to be meeting top MOH officials and doctors but that Dr Chilufya is the worst thing to happen to the ministry and because he is a doctor he won’t listen to any technocrats…we used to hear from top specialists during the KK and Chiluba era but now we have this crook and his girlfriend as PS they have hoarded everything to themselves. You can’t have a minister in one position that long.

  9. PF has never accepted advice from other stakeholders or political parties and has said they have money and everything to manage without outside help. Call a meeting for yourselves. When PF is out of power other stakeholders will participate in the governance of our nation.
