Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo on Saturday visited his former school in Solwezi where he has renovated and adopted a dormitory wing he used when he was a pupil.

During his visit to Solwezi Boys Technical High School, Mr. Lusambo donated Mattresses, Blackets and Pillows and assorted items much to the delight of pupils who welcomed him.

Other items donated include various stock of Sanitizers, 500 bags of mealie meal and 12,000 cash for the boys to buy relish and other food essentials.

Mr Lusambo announced that his family had been saving money towards the cause for sometime now.

He has rehabilitated wing A and B of Kalengwa house which will now have a ceiling board and has since been renamed after him following the school Management’s decision to acknowledge his gesture.

He emphasized that President Edgar Lungu will always work with young people but was quick to advise them against social media abuse .

“So just make sure that you are disciplined and make sure that you focus on your studies, Mr Lusambo told the boys as they cheered him on.

And in a vote of thanks, School Head teacher Given Mugwengwe thanked President Lungu for appointing his former pupil as Lusaka Province Minister .

Mr Mugwengwe said Mr. Lusambo’s leadership qualities were identified by the school management who appointed him as Prefect in Grade 10.

Mr. Lusambo was at Solwezi Boys Technical School from 1996 to 1998.

  1. Good gesture indeed! Reminds me of the Wise Embezzler in the Bible who made friends with his “Stolen” money … Kikikiki
Bowman, teach us how to make such money also without a clear business track record. It sounds like magic money from Seer1 where your pockets get instantly filled with cash after kissing his shoes … Kikikiki

  2. This one is called take and give. You take with one hand and give with the other. Wondeful stuff, A few fictional characters such as Robin Hood and real ones like Pablo Escobar did this to win support from the poor. What this tells us is that our ministers really do care and know what needs to be done to fix our country but the fixing aspect of it has been turned into a campaign tool or a weapon to solicit votes. Everyone wants to be a minister these days because you can turn from rags to riches within a very short space of time. Bowman, we salute you, at least you didn’t foget where you came from. My only wish is that you could have used your influence to push for all students in the country to enjoy such facilities unconditional by making sure those tasked with the responsibility must…

  3. Do their job. Let’s compete to leave office with big portfolios of achievements not CV’s of the best dribblers in the country.

  4. Signs of a dictatorship…the leaders of the current regime have their egos stroke by having things named after them. Someone will say it was the skools decision to do so but if am a leader filled with humility I won’t allow that. Bill and Melinda Gates help quite a lot but they do not have every thing named after them.

  7. Atleast as a former house captain of Kalengwa house am happy for the gesture. This is the way to go my Minister

  8. This is inspiring. Coming from nothing to become a leader and then to do this act of kindness. What a man. Some of you here hating on the man are busy claiming you are doing well in diaspora, you even visit Zambia to show off and yet you have never even developed or given back to your local communities. To my people living in Zambia please do not envy going abroad. Life there is clearly not what they make it out to be. Most of them wipe old racist people backside and have to save for many years to visit Zambia to show off. Kz

AS AN INDIVIDUAL, AT LEAST, HES DOING
WHAT THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION CANT DO.
    INSTITUTION PARALYSIS

What a sh*th0le country for sure! Apparently this is development and national policy… Bribes and proceeds of crime being distributed as donations just to satisfy small egos. @ “my family and I have been saving for a while”… negro please! Stop insulting our intelligence and just enjoy your loot while it lasts.
Come the time you will be out of power and locked up in a penitentiary somewhere, that dom will be renamed this your predecessor. What a failed project this thing called Zambia is! Unbelievable!

  13. Let’s see if he continues with these donations next year when they are out of government and the coffers have dried up.
