Kampyongo orders the arrest of any political cadres wearing military attire

Share

Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo has directed the police to swiftly curb the wearing of military attire among political party cadres.

Mr. Kampyongo says several warnings have been issued but cadres from both the ruling and opposition political parties have continued abusing outfits similar to those for military personnel.

He says it is time for police to enforce the law and arrest any cadre found clad in military outfits irrespective of their political affiliation.

The Home Affairs Minister says the trend should be stopped before the forthcoming 2021 general election as it has the potential to incite political violence.

Mr. Kampyongo was speaking to journalists in Lusaka today, shortly after the official opening of a stakeholder’s engagement workshop for the correctional service bill.

  2. All the pictures so far show all PF security wing cadres wear that military attire even moving with firearms and other offensive weapons. Start with your so called commander 1.

  3. Only the ruling party can enforce the law. When they insist they are no less and no more responsible than the opposition, they are abdicating or are ignorant of their duty to the nation. Citizens should, at first opportunity, be wise enough to give such a party all the trappings of an opposition party that they seem to envy and none of government that they actually have but find too burdensome.

Then citizens can start holding accountable, with the same zeal, another bunch that hopefully appreciates and can handle the weighty duties of governing.

  4. Stup!d camfyono, talk about better things … it’s your cadres who are wearing such things with your blessings. Idyoti

Are you not even ashamed ordering the police to arrest the animals who raised yourself. When you issue such order also quote the SI or the law which police will use…Jay Jay is walking the streets freely after battering senior police officers at Force H/Q, what do you think is going to happen to a mere constable

  9. If the police are always getting orders from Kampyongo , how are they going to arrest him if he has stolen tax payers money and acquired wealth beyond his means and earning for instance .The police need to start distinguishing the the woods from trees and operate independently .

  10. I hope he also warned the police to be careful as they attempt to arrest those who storm the biggest police station in the country, clobber the policemen and rob them, since the arrests might take place in the open battle field with both sides armed. Wina azataba kikikikiki.
