Council of Churches in Zambia commends President Hichilema’s stance on LGBTQ

Share

The Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) has hailed President Hakainde Hichilema for his strong stance of condemning Gay and Lesbian rights saying the move is progressive for a Christian nation like Zambia.

In an interview with ZANIS, CCZ General Secretary, Emmanuel Chikoya says the statement by the republican President gives a sense of relief and direction because everything rises and falls on leadership.

Father Chikoya says criticism will continue to be heaped on the government but the message and commitment is clear as seen from the President’s sentiments.

He stated that the Church will continue doing its part to eradicate vices that are likely to corrupt the morals and values of a Christian nation.

Father Chikoya has however, guided that actions from other organs should not contradict the government’s position over Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender queer (LGBTQ).

He was reacting to the President’s remarks when he attended a church service at Life Gospel Fellowship Ministries Church in Chingola were he had met members of the clergy from CCopperbelt.

  1. Styup1d Council of churches!! You were quiet when Hakainde insulted Edgar.

Hakainde has spoken because of pressure and you are busy praising him.

Council of churches, whatever they call you, you are styu1pd.

    • They don’t know that his pronouncements are just cosmetic meant to please them. When VP Harris comes, she will make a veiled reference to gay rights by saying DEMOCRACY CAN ONLY WORK IF IT’S INCLUSIVE OF RIGHTS.

    • True, why indeed were they quiet when ECL was insulted in black and white. Justin imagine acknowledging the “watch my lips statement.”

  2. The court has ruled that if the president makes a statement but as long as he doesn’t put it in writing and signed it, he’s not liable. Same case here… it’s not in writing, not signed.

  3. The foreign churches, especially the Catholic Church, were the main bringers of homosexuality into Zambia. They should cleanse themselves before they can credibly speak on the matter. I do not have a problem with the Zambian priests. The foreign male priests are the one who have been chewing alter boys for a long time

  4. The animal called Lungu deserved to be locked up. If Hakainde insulted it, he was right. I know the kind of person that is Hakainde, he was born in a village a few kilometers from where I went to secondary school. He does not support homosexuality. We Tonga are real men, and our fault, if that is what it is, marrying many women, not looking lustfully at boys. We are also “guilty” of honesty, hardwork, reliability, and resourcefulness. There is a reason why we have fed Zambia for 60 years. Hakainde finds his hands tied behind his back by the US $31 billion in debts the criminals that came before him saddled our country with. In this way, he is like Chiluba and that $ 6 billion debt he inherited from Kaunda.
