Stephen Kampyongo, Member of Parliament for Shiwang’andu under the Patriotic Front (PF), says the convention that declared Makebi Zulu as party president is illegal.
Kampyongo, a former Home Affairs Minister, argued that holding a general conference before a ruling by the Court of Appeal is unlawful.
According to Phoenix FM News, he said any leadership declarations made during the gathering have no legal standing.
Divisions continue within the PF following a convention held over the weekend, where Makebi Zulu was announced as party leader ahead of the August 13 general elections.
Reports circulating on social media indicate that Zulu received 49.2 percent of the vote from 110 districts. He was followed by Chitalu Chilufya with 34.1 percent, Given Lubinda with 8.7 percent, Chanda Katotobwe with 4.8 percent, Greyford Monde with 1.9 percent, and Chishimba Kambwili with 1.4 percent.

The PF political circus rolls on! Anyway, any Party founded by the most cantankerous political donkey of all times, Sata, and inherited by a kleptomaniac who had the audacity to turn a Pretoria morgue into his own mausoleum dies not deserve to be returned to office.
People from North and East Zambia know how to play politics and build each other and not the south, west of Zambia. Just look at the names and numbers of active opposition party leaders EVEN IN TIMES WHEN THEIR OWN IS PRESIDENT!!! Tayali Chilufya, Mundubile, Kalaba, mpundu, kambwili, Simbao, Makebi, Msoni, Sean Tembo, Chishala Kateka, silavwe and EFF. Oooh someone from south west Zambia cant try it unless first he or she is Nkombolized, Mweetwalised or mwiimbulized
Kampyongo could not see the 1 million dollars fire tenders as illegal then. Miles Sampa could not see his illegal convention as illegal then. Well they can see these illegal things now. Same pit where UPND is likely to fall in.
