  1. Great job! When completed it will reduce on cost of doing business and increase on efficiency. The time for reporting for work will improve, delivery time for manufacturing firms will reduce, above all motor vehicles’ lifespan will prolong because the rate and cost of repair will reduce. Lumumba and Mungwi roads are the industrial hub of Lusaka west.

  2. The most expensive road in Zambia. Its also the most worked on road in Zambia’s history having had refurbishments since the 80s

  3. Why is it that everything the govt is trying to do has to be citicized? Lets us give credit where credit is due. They may weaknesses here and there but let us not only see doom and gloom.
People may not eat the roads but they will expeditese the movement of goods and services. These inturn will bring in taxes.

  4. You need good roads , how do go to work without good roads to prevent loss of human life how do do business without roads how do transport food to the needy .
Infrastructure is necessary for any development you cannot live in the past even food you need roads without roads everything comes to a standstill , you cannot go to the hospital you cannot even transport farm products to storage neither can you sell all depends on infrastructure.
Life without good roads is dangerous , accidents are the order of the day.

  5. over priced infrastructure is too much no wonder there is so much stealing in the civil service, such open stealing is becoming too much and it’s increasing our national debt. Laying bitumen should not be that expensive.

  6. @ Carlos. We love titles in Zambia-status. Sometimes even when it amounts to nothing. I was humbled to learn that Dr. Brian Chituwo was not just a medical doctor but also a Brigadier General with an actual PhD in some branch of medicine. The man chose to keep it simple. Otherwise, his full title would have been something like this: Minister of Health Hon. Brigadier Gen. Dr. Brian Chituwo M.P (M.D, MsC, PhD).

  7. Kudos to the Government for embarking on this project.lumumba road has been in a deplorable state for a long time and this move is prudent. I hardly use this road because of its state but now it will be proficient for those in public transport business and private sectors respectively. What we need to see is the accountability of how the funds will be disbursed.lets give credit where it’s due .

  8. Good job! Great to see Zambian engineers working! I think Hazaluza Hagain! This foundation is the best I have ever seen in road construction in Zambia and the drain is equally excellent!

  9. @Mpundu Mwaume you are right! Dr. Chituwo is a brilliant but a simple man. Once upon a time he was my examiner! Very down to earth man!
