I’ll support RB on merit – Mwanachingwala

Share

rb_arrivalChief Mwanachingwala of Mazabuka says his support for President Rupiah Banda to run for another term of office would be based on merit.

And Chief Mwanachingwala has advised MMD cadres to give President Banda time to deliver on his election promises and stop the campaigns for the 2011 elections.

The Chief told ZANIS in Mazabuka today that the President would lose focus and concentrate on his campaigns instead.

Chief Mwanachingwala noted that it is too early for the MMD to start campaigning for the Presidency because the nation expects a lot from the leadership of President Banda.

He said President Banda has been in office for only close to 7 months, adding that MMD members should give him time to address challenges facing the country.

Chief Mwanachingwala warned that failure to heed his advice would be catastrophe for MMD as it would be difficult to sell their candidature as people would want to demand if the promises were met.

He said currently he has not seen anything wrong or bad with President Banda’s leadership.

Meanwhile, the MMD in Magoye constituency in Mazabuka has endorsed President Banda’s candidature for the 2011 presidential and general elections.

Constituency chairman, Moses Munjile, said in Mazabuka that the constituency leadership is behind President Banda’s leadership and would not allow anyone else to challenge him.

Mr Munjile said endorsing another candidate would be suicide to the ruling party.

  1. this poor and sick chief we have here does not look at his subject but himself coz he is the only one receiving brown envelops from Rupia bwezani kumbuyo

  2. I have to admit that am happy to see that there are still some traditional leaders who are:
    1. Yet to be corrupted.
    2. Not money thirsty.
    3. Still able to use their naturally God given wisdom.
    4. Neutral when it comes to politics.
    5. Etc.
God bless you chief and protect you from the powers of darkness that may corrupt you.
    Credit given.

  3. What makes these people start talking about RB going for another term. Let him just finnish LPM’s term and give room to young people in his party if he was a true leader and then just remain as an adviser. RB don’t allow yourself more insults, please leave with some rspect

  4. Our chiefs should also use their brains before they utter anything. It is evident from the tone of Chief Mwanachingwala that he could have already been bribed by RB and his government. Is the this chief the only blind person in this country that he does not see the mess that the MMD governement has coursed to the people of Zambia. He is also forgeting that it is the people who he represents that will suffer. Ala bane ubututu tebusuma sana. Aletontonkanyafye pafi ngombe bakamupela.

  5. Way to go chief Mwanachingwala.Other chiefs should take a leaf from your position.Support should based on merit not what we have seen in the past. RB in the picture above appears to be sayings that he has given up on the challenges the country is facing…niyo mangana bambo

  6. who doesnt know that chief mwanachingwala is an MMD Cadre. LT, the headline should read MMD Cadre chief mwanachingwala endorses RB as MMD Presidential Candidate for 2011.

  7. Very desperate Chief Mwanachingwala. He is always known to making comments based on his MMD cadre mentality.

  8. iwe mwandi tuma chief nato ku $ twapena nelyo tukotele.i wish Zambia had people who think about the future.I that way we could choose intelligent leaders who can deliver.we can’t even know who’ll be next MMD president candidate .no wonder we just put leaders who don’t know what to do because of lack of planning.

  9. Zambia is a very puzzling place indeed. I have always been made to believe that government positions have retirement ages was 60 years for males and 55 years for females.
Now I start wondering if we are thinking properly if we are going to be endorsing people who have past retirement age to be ruling the country were there are able bodied young men and women.
Why should Rupiah Bwezani Banda (born 13 February 1937) now aged 72 years and will be 74 years in 2011, then lead Zambia for a further 5-10 years? Where are the young, educated, able bodied men and women who can lead the country forward to a prosperous future? In Bemba we say, “imiti ikula e mpanga” so why should we be sticking to the old, tired, with dementia and dozy grannies for leadership? LETS ALL SAY NO TO THIS SELFISHNESS.

  10. #12 Mule, apparently much as the constitution stipulates 35 years as the age limit for eligibility to stand for presidency, it does not give a limit on the other end. For this reason, a Zambian can be president at no matter how old they are as long as it’s limited to two terms in office.

Zambians are scared of change, reason why, RB will be voted back into office and the MMD will rule forever. I have a strong feeling that our country is bound to be ruled by the MMD “forever” until we have a revolution, like was the case in 2001.

What we need is leadership that will deliver the goods to the people whether the president is 100 yrs or not. Ronald Reagan ruled the USA as an old man and his tenure in office was somewhat appreciated. Let’s just hope that RB will start working hard b4…

  11. Rooftop Barman is a transitional president. All these id!otic youths endorsing his candidature without direction are either blind or have been payed by the government machine to mislead the masses. What a bunch of deranged imbec!les. This Toadface was woken up from his slumber by mere chance, he was picked up from the farm to be vice president.
A year ago this man didn’t know he would be president, therefore he is without a vision. Why are the youthful parasites campaigning for him when he’s only served 7 out 36 months? Are you all f##k!ng nuts? His only success seems to be coming from the hardworking ACC, DEC and Zambia Police.
The chief is correct, so others should follow suit.

  12. Oh my word! Chief Mwanachingwala is a fool. What merit does RB have? I dont even know what type of a chief he is. Is he the only man in Zambia that has no eyes to see the direction Bwazani Banda is taking this country? Is he the only one who has foresight than any other man in zambia? Surely, this chief is a thief. He is morally bankcrapt.

we shall sort that nigger out. He is an embarassment to chiefs. His days are numbered. We shall see…. he is misrepresenting the integerity of our chiefs.

  13. LT YOU ARE AT IT AGAIN. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO SENSOR MY POSTINGS. MULANDE NGATAMULEFWAYA TULETUMINAKO, TATWAIFINYA KUTITWALEKA BUT JUST KNOW THAT I AM SIMPLY TRYING TO EXPRESS MYSELF. THIS SAME CHIEF ENDORSED RB LAST YEAR WITHOUT MERIT SO WHY SHOULD HE TALK OF SUCH TODAY. HE DIDNT EVEN ACCOMODATE OPPOSITION CANDIDATES AT HIS PALACE WHEN THEY PAID COURTESY CALLS ON HIM SO WE KNOW WHAT THESE GUYS ARE ALWAYS UP TO. TETA, KUNDA AND A HOST OF OTHER BOOTLICKERS WHO ARE HIGH RANKING AND INFLUENCIAL HAVE ALREADY ENDORSED RB AND HE IS WALLOWING IN THIER PRAISE. DO YOU THINK HE WILL FIND TIME TO DELIVER ON HIS FAKE PROMISES.

  14. The Chief
    -will support RB on merit,
    . reasoble and sensible enough.
-advised cadres to stop campaigns and give RB time to deliver
. doubt if he is capable of delivering no matter how much time he is given, GMOs, Hearses, Mobile hospitals, MPs gratuities after salary increaments
-Has not see anything wrong or bad with RB’s leadership
that is his opinion and he is entitled

  15. You have my support chief. A few votes gone there for a party from Southern province. Elyo lwanya nomba even his people are jumping ship!

  16. Nothing wrong with a chief declaring his support for RB. Unless you are Tonga and UPND, there is nothing wrong the chief has done.

  17. Well done chief and please ensure that your subjects register and vote in 2011. What a chief you are!

  18. This “Chief Mwanachingwala of Mazabuka says his support for President Rupiah Banda to run for another term of office would be based on merit” is a bit sensible from the named chief. As for the MMD in Magoye, well done for supporting President RB Banda as MMD president and presidential candidate so that it will be easy for the opposition U-Team to gain mileage in the 2011 presidential elections.

    Prevention is better than cure.

  19. Chief what ever your fellow Tongas say, you are a great man. Encourage your subjects to register and that only means Hechi Hechi will lose miserably! Well done.
