Former Patriotic Front Secretary General Edward Mumbi says he was forced to resign from the opposition because of the dishonest manner in which the PF leader Michael Sata was managing the affairs of the party.
Speaking at a campaign rally at Musenga Township in Kasama to drum up support for the MMD candidate yesterday, Mr Mumbi said when they formed the PF they had agreed that the party would stand for the truth and fairness.
He however said he was disappointed to note that the party started drifting from its tenets because of the bad leadership of Mr Sata.
Mr Mumbi said he was ready to face Mr Sata on Radio Mano so that the two could explain to the public the reasons that led to his resignation from the PF.
He said PF received a lot of financial support for mobilization during the last Presidential By elections which has not been accounted for by Mr Sata.
Mr Mumbi revealed that the PF in Northern Province was supposed to receive over K700m during the 2008 elections but these funds never reached the province resulting in some of the party’s polling agents not being paid.
He charged that Mr Sata’s style of leadership has led to a lot of people to resign from the party.
Mr Mumbi has since appealed to PF members to examine their conscious and see why they should continue being in a party whose leader is dishonest and practiced politics of insults.

Mumbi resigned from PF just after the last (2008 Presidential bye) elections. This was after he was sent to S.Africa to represent PF at the printing of the ballot papers. On his coming back he broke camp with PF. He is partly the reason Sata withdrew the Presidential petition because he was bought (with evidence). Eversince coming back from S.A, he has been noted to own 2 immaculate Mercedes Benz Cars which he cannot account for. The rest you can extrapolate……..!!!
All what Zambia needs is to go forward , not a personality any one who can perform is the material for president, we have seen how Sata performed that is why we want to try him.. with his expirience it is not the age that matters niether is it how handsome some one is it is imaterial

Too much speculation and assumptions on these potential 2011 leaders. We need journalists and a media that can adopt the American/British way of grilling all candidates. Z needs well publicised debates, interviews and town halls on TV. They need to cover economic policy, foreign policy, national security, beliefs etc In addition, publicise these events in all languages so that even villages can participate in the questioning. There is too much old school campaigning which makes it difficult to choose the best leaders for the country. Z needs to make election events more interactive with the challenges Z faces. We need to get more info on people like HH. I heard a good interview on his economic policy ideas….one still needs more info. Public books like Obama’s or Dambisa’s can help

Like it or not Sata has a truck record of performing and has been successful in the portfolios he held in the government. He has the drive to make people work. He is a good supervisor. Sata is absolutely blameless and has never done anything wrong. That is why he supported GBM’s tribal remarks in Kasama and that is why I am stupid enough to support him. Another thing I like about Sata is his consistency – in 2006 he wanted to free Chiluba but now he wants the govt to appeal against his acquital .He was also being consistent when he did not support the new minining tax regime but was against the govt when they repealed it. Another thing I like about Sata is the fact that he is a good strategist – he wasted parliamentary time with impeachment proceedings when there was nothing impeachable about RB’s but then changed his mind. I think the MMD should be afraid of the pact even though it is a pact in name only and will disappear on the issue of who will lead it. Viva Sata!
