The opposition Patriotic Front (PF) in Chipata Central Constituency in Eastern Province has called on its Provincial chairperson Lucas Phiri to immediately step down accusing him of dividing the party.
The Constituency Executive Committee said that the PF leader has no popularity within the party because of dictatorial and divisive leadership causing divisions among party members.
Constituency Secretary William Phiri told ZANIS in Chipata that PF in Chipata Central resolved at a meeting held on 16th April, to call on their Provincial leader to step down after all efforts to dialogue over his failure to lead the party failed.
He said the party was disappointed with the behaviour of Mr Phiri who he said had grown big headed and sidelined all duly elected party leaders in preference for people that supported all his deeds even when they were not in the interest of the PF.
“He has failed to maintain peace within the executive as he has been sidelining some members of the executive,” Mr Phiri charged.
The Party’s Constituency Secretary said the PF provincial chairperson had brought anarchy to the leadership and was intolerant of any kind of criticism
aimed at improving the party in Eastern Province.
He accused Mr Phiri of intimidating and humiliating party members who criticised him saying the PF Provincial Chairperson labelled them as rebels belonging to the ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD).
The Constituency Secretary also alleged that Mr Phiri had been holding public rallies in wards and distributing party materials without prior arrangements with the constituency executive.
He also attributed the party’s loss of the Chiparamba Local Government by-election seat to Mr Phiri’s unprofessional leadership saying the Chairperson wanted to do everything without engaging other PF officials.
“Mr Phiri should understand that the party needs a mature leader who can accept criticism and accommodate all members of the party in order to move the PF forward,” he said.
Lads, I know Lucas Phiri, he was my prefect at Chizongwe. The Guys has no tertiary education because just upon completion of his grade 12 which he failed lamentably, he joined politics in Chipangali under UNIP.From then on he was MP till KK decieved them to boycot the elections
Am not suprised that he has now joined his fellow Kaponyas in PF .The guy has no leadership qualities and am pleased that he will sink together with his collegues in the boat.
Jojo

Chizzy mwana wa botai. Metal ni metal.
And kebai
Ba LT, it is stereotypical of you to characterise the people in the captioned picture as “old men.” Remember the poverty intentionally created by MMD & rupiah is causing a lot of premature aging with many Zambians. Kuya bebele
If you are looking a good Criminal Justice degree I strongly recommend “United Forensic College” there you can get the best training to solve crimes.
@Jojo, Mwanya bane – Is this the calibre of people who want to lead this country. Wonders will never end, just let RB continue leading this country coz we have seen Hospitals, Clinics and more recently mobile hospitals being commissioner in the country.
I thought they were launching the people’s pact in Eastern province less than a week ago? How did that fail to strengthen the party in the province? Ba PF ukaponya too much!
I think I have seen the photo photo in this article before. Purely daily mail. useless
Sorry just seen that they have specified that its a file photo. Bye
Number 7: The peoples PACT is not a PF mouth piece as it represents the views of people like you. The peoples PACT prime mandate is to bring about change of government in this years elections. The peoples PACT is alive to the fact that the people of Zambia do not only want change but they want meaningful change. I wish to advise you however, that there is nothing wrong for the people to demand for change a change of leadership especially in a democratic country. If a Kaponya can call for change of leadership then he or she knows that they deserve better.
The Constituency Executive Committee said that the PF leader has no popularity within the party because of “dictatorial” and divisive leadership causing divisions among party members.
Dictatorial? But that is the style of leadership in PF starting from the top. In PF language, “man of action” means the same as “dictator”. So what is wrong with Lucas Phiri practising what PF preaches? The other Phiri is probably in the wrong party if he expects democracy in PF.
hehehehe..Lucas Phiri is still UNIP..he’s digging out PF and will ditch it b4 elections to confuse Sata..hahahahaha
Rupiah is taking Eastern Province for granted and he will be shocked. These small wrangles should not excite MMD becaues PF is very strong in Eastern Province.
Viva Michael Sata and PF come 2011. The Wind of Change is coming.
Pabwatooooo is simply the best in 2011.
freedom to debate and chose who you think should be your leader is a sign of maturity
#2 Mwanya bane. Chizzy Metal nsimbi ni nsimbi. Bogland, ha! ha! ha! ha!
Kaponyas are at it again. There is no democracy in PF. How do you expect your leaders to respect others when they themselves were just handpicked by the owner of the party? As long as the party does not allow people to freely contest for positions there will be no freedom in the party. You have to sing the owner’s song for you to continue being in good books with him. Haven’t you seen what has happened to Given Lubinda? Do not complain because you have chosen dictatorship as a way of running PF affairs. Man of action my foot!!!
Mufulira provincial conference fracas, Rebellious Musenge who wants Musenge out, Mumbi Phiri’s comedy in Munali and now Lucas Phiri in Chipata. And these jokers want us to entrust them with the affairs of the nation. Bakabwa!
Metal ni Metal !!
Are these oldies guys from PF with a fist? who do they want to beat? I see real kaponya and looks like hungry dogs. we want real change and the only HOPE is HH VIVA HH VIVA RB
shame PF pa fwaka party.
PF pliz sober up,still drunk with past glory.Your homo magazine wont be there when you will be licking defeat wounds.
Eastern province is intact we now know your cheap Propaganda Ba LT.
Lekeni mwebeko. Mwebena Chipata mwalishishita. How can you meekly accept to be ridden on your backs like donkeys by Sata, whose record is crystal clear for having deprived development in Eastern Province which was regarded as being a strong hold of UNIP. he people of Eastern Province have not undergone any genetic mutation after the Chiluba error when Sata was supreme. Mwebena Chipata muli FINANGWA. Unless those masquarauding as PF cadres are imports from the Copperbelt Province assigned to discredit your own brother in charge of State House. The Nyanja saying states that “Chakomela mbuzi kuluma galu”. The whole banch of PF cadres in Chipata are stupid *****s.
I think imwe benachipata mwasoba, kumbukani pf and sata, solomoni mbuzi, ones a minstar ekanganga kusebenza kuchito bachosa. My brother you are right with eastrens in pf.Sata works very well with ma mboma, felies are the best for Sata.Look The solomoni mbuzi,Mlongoti, mpombo.masebo, therecomes mangani.
All you chaps are exactly the same….just the analogies from school days to discrediting elderly poor people PF is trying to help shows you are equally not interested in the welfare of ordinary Zambians and are just interested in your President from Chipata…..imagine all you chaps in politics and us writing about you…thank God you are just empty bottles…..I have not read any intellectual thought from # 1 to #22 apart from #10 other two…. Hatred expressed at its best….. Chipata boys magalu
