Andrew Kamanga-led FAZ faction to start operating their break away league in 5 days

Share

Andrew Kamanga is interviewed after the annual general meeting by his faction in Lusaka yesterday

The National Football League (NFL) proponents have until 5th May 2011 to register for the new soccer confederacy structure. This was one of the resolution made yesterday when the 13 pro-NFL clubs met at a meeting held in Lusaka at the at the National Sports Development Centre.

The meeting further agreed to operationalise the NFL by 7th May 2011 when the registration process is complete and a sponsor is found. The new NFL will be administered by the Andrew Kamanga-led FAZ faction Interim Executive.

The formation of the NFL comes in the aftermath of last weekend’s FAZ Annual General Meeting (AGM), which failed to resolve the differences in local soccer administration. One delegate to Saturday’s Football Association of Zambia-FAZ Annual General Meeting in Kabwe described the meeting as an embarrassment to the outside world.

Mofya Chisala who was also aspiring FAZ Vice President said the meeting dented Zambia’s football image. Chisala said the failure to table the vote of no confidence motion has spelled doom for Zambian football. He said there was no transparency in the manner in which the vote of no confidence was withdrawn.

Chisala said the non inclusion of the vote of no confidence motion denied Zambians an opportunity to address the wrangles that are surrounding soccer administration in the country.

And Some Soccer fans in Lusaka have expressed concern over the decision by FAZ to withdraw the vote of no confidence motion at Saturday’s Annual General meeting.

The fans say it is unfortunate that FAZ could accept a single club to withdraw a motion which has been seconded.

They also said the Kalusha Bwalya led executive should have allowed the motion to pass for the sake of developing football in the country.

The fans said the confusion surrounding the FAZ AGM is a clear indication that people are not in favour of the Kalusha Bwalya led executive.

Some fans said it is time the Kalusha Bwalya executive stood aside and pave way for others to take over the running of football in the country.

Meanwhile, Sports Minister Kenneth Chipungu said he will only be in a position to comment on the outcome of the FAZ AGM on Tuesday.

And when contacted for a comment National Sports Council of Zambia General Secretary Rodgers Phiri said the council is still compiling a report on the matter

  1. We are now seeing a Bin Ladin or a Gaddafi in Kalusha Bwalya. If he is not stopped now, we shall create a monstar. It is up to us Zambians to control this young Man.

  2. Why has FIFA taken so long to impose sanctions? guess i need a break from this nonsense! why should someone form national league out of frustrations? why not jst resign, this is madness. And why is Kalusha forcing himself on people who have explicitly rejected him? (it appears he has no life after FAZ, or is it just greednss?) Kalusha and Kamanga FAZ is not a personal to holder organisation, please give us a break with ur fo.oolishness.

  3. We all need a break from this nonsense. Why is Kamanga and Simata so intent on causing confusion? They have seven months to go. So why form a break away league now? Is that league for good motives? The league will certainly be a laughing stock.Simata and Kamanga want FIFA to act and help them in causing confusion in the Zambian league but I guess FIFA are too mature for this.

  4. #2 Hey FIFA are taking time because they want to drop a nuclear bomb on Zambian football. They are just looking for high grade uranium from Iran and that can  take a bit of time because of UN sanctions.

Soccer Fans head for your bunkers and expect no AFCON, Olympic footballand forget Brazil 2014, till all the radiation clears when they drop their arsenal. And yes no international club football too, anyway who cares , there is only ZESCO to be knocked out by next week Monday.

It is surely coming. It is going to be well calculated and very precise and at long last sanity will prevail and the nation will develop other sports.

  5. Kalusha has killed football in Zambia. He will be responsible for the down fall of football and will move from hero to zero

  6. Kalusha has no other thing to do in life apart from FAZ thats why he is fighting to stay on. The guy has grown so big headed he think Zambian football belongs to him. He has no understanding of constitutions and democracy. Why not let the no confidence be passed if people like you then they will vote you in. He is behaving like and DULL african like Mugabe, Ivorian president who was recently arrested…  Democracy just can’t get into the thick skull of black Africans. IF PEOPLE DO NOT WANT YOU, WHY NOT F……K OFF

  7. The National Sports Council General Secretary is Mr Rodgers CHIPILI and not Phiri ba Times muleposa amano kufyo mulechita surely mulelufyana na ma Names. Come -on guys ..

  8. Current FAZ mandate ends in 7 months. I fail to understand why the Tamanga boys have to form another league. This is purely for selfish and egoistic reasons. Mr Kamanga with all his education thinks he can present a hand written motion at an AGM. What about the requirement for 21 days notice. that should have been ignored because it Kamanga? Anyway lets wait and see what will follow. Kalu has FIFA backing and without FIFA you cannot participate in any international football. Kamanga & Simataa have the impression that all the clubs support them, but they are wrong as there are some clubs that are in favour of the Kalu led executive. As Kalu put it whichever premier team joins the NFL they will be replaced by a team from division one. Go Kalu until your mandate is ends next year.

  9. No 9 do not be foolish in your thinking… the no confidence motion in your friend Kalusha was tabled more than 3 months ago. He has been trying to block it using any means possible. Like i said Kalusha has nothing to do apart from FAZ all is friends who are former African Footballer’s of the Year have made money. He is the only one who has made nothing. Always asking for bribes from players when he was coach to be included in the national team. He stays in South Africa we have friends who know him well… He is always asking for loans from players in South Africa. FAZ is his financial life line thats why he will do anything to stay at FAZ

  10. The teams that attended the meeting for Andrew kamanga faction include ( komboni and hungry clubs) Amakumbi Stars, Chilanga Young Stars, T.P Rangers, National Milling, Matero Academy, Chilenje Soccer Academy,
Lilanda United, Profund Warriors, Afritex, Lusaka Dynamos and Winford Academy. what league can these clubs form? are these guys hungry? why cant they wait for elections next year if they are Genuine?

    • If they were genuine, they would definitely wait for next year.Unless they know that they are not credible to win the election. Kamanga should realise that taking the path he is treading is the only way to have Zambia burned from the international scene. So the question is whether Kamanga’s ambitions are more important than our football.

  11. He can not financially support is new white wife without FAZ. The previous wife realised he was a financial liability and kicked him out…

  12. The current FAZ president is Kalu. The mandate to drive FAZ lies with him and his executive. But when people start complaining about your conduct, you do the honourable thing of stepping aside and allowing independent bodies to scrutinise your work. He didnt achieve whatever he achieved for the country without Efford Chabala in goal, Ashious Melu, Derby Mankinka, Eston Mulenga at 5, Samuel Chomaba etc. They played as a team and team work is what Kalu seems to be disregarding. Some of us saw this coming way back when he became FAZ president as well as Coach. The two roles cant be executed by one person but in Kalus wisdom even people like Abedi Pele were not giving him good advice. He will now go down as the one who has killed Zambian football. Why accept a motion to be withdrawn dubiously?

  13. If Kamanga and his colleagues have the Zambian football interest at heart, then they will need to be patient and dislodge Kalu when his term ends-through the ballot. Unless they are scared that they do not have the confidence to get to FAZ through legitimate means. That said, it is imperative to realise that as long as the fighting continues finally FIFA will axe Zambia from the international scene. And if Kamanga wants this to happen, then certainly he is not a compatriot but one of the minions with selfish ambitions.

  14. we are tired of thse PF cadres making noise everyday in the vuvuzela post…siamtaa and kamanga..

  15. This Kamanga and Simataa should be shot in their black a$$ heads by the Navy Seals before they destroy Zambia’s soccer. You tell me these two Monkeys can ruin our only sport and we are here bitching about nonsence issues? Someone back home need to step in and direct these two black monkeys away from FAZ. Kalu is a Faz president till his term is over and then by chance the morrons can contest the seats.

  16. Its strange that Kalu is blamed for everything by some people. Our standards of football have gone down and i dont know how you can improve football standards by forming another league! Barely a few hours after running way from the AGM, they announce the formation of another league. Its clear to some of us that this was planned in advance irrespective of the outcome of the AGM. The problem is that Kamanga and Simata think that because they are supported by GRZ, they can do anything.

  17. Kamanga na Simata ma tole, why can’t they wait for 2012, in politics they could have been charged with treason for trying to overthrow the GOVT in power.

  18. no.15 Pulamasaka. Why are you bringing PF in tihs football matters, moreover we all know that its RB who is pushing for Kamanga to head FAZ because he is uncle to this chap, so its MMD causing this confusion because even ka William Banda was spoted in Kabwe on the same day of the FAZ AGM.

  19. What is wrong with ka Galu kanshi ? Time the guy came to his senses. The writing is clear, pipo don`t wan`t his puffed pride to overide our beloved game *fyola*.

  20. ba fikamba balimichita bwino why are you so power hungry you mean you cant wait for 2012 .ba kamanga you matured but chi simatako has turned you in a fool who cant think.simata has always been a failure is a fool who likes barking anyhow.

  21. Kamanga chaps are power hungry!! They should just wait for 2012. Why destroy soccer over their selfish egos

  22. Whatever happened to the African way of dialogue. Kalusha is wrong and Kamanga is also wrong. Solutions do not lie in the two self centred people. The populace may need to come in and teach these two a lesson: withdraw sponsorship, boycott.

  23. Sometimes one is forced to cry just watching the phenomenal volume of excrement Zambians can rave off their minds over very simple straight forward matters. For example, Kalusha’s conduct in this FAZ fiasco has been to say the least most dishonourable. Kalusha and Kamanga can never both be right and wrong at the same time, no! For heaven and hell’s sake, some bloggers must stop nailing their munyelo-sides on the fence just to quench their insatiable tribal bigotry to not fault Kalusha only because they, like him, hail from Katanga. I applaud Kamanga and his team for opting to go their own way, like Gbagbo and Charles Taylor, Great Galu will wake up only to find clubs are gone and FAZ house is a white elephant.

  24. It is most unfortunate that most Zambians filter the information they receive and facts they see through their current attitudes and perspectives which unfortunately do tend to be laced with a dangerous dose of tribal bigotry. I for one can never see how Mr Kalusha Bwalya can be right in his stance which has brought about the demise of soccer in Zambia. Just how any sane being can swallow the stinking oiling of the palms of Mazabuka’s Mushiba by Kalu’s agents and the withdrawal from the agenda of a motion that has already been adopted on such flimsy grounds only goes to show the g’u’t’less level to which some Zambians have sunk to mentally.

  25. Iwe #27 Where’s Katanga? Ekwafuminebawiso? And if we say Kamanga is from Malawi do we help your situation? Everyone is from somewhere you senseless bigot.

  26. Running away from FAZ is not the solution because FAZ does not belong to Kalu, he is just the current president of the Association whos term ends in 7 months time. FAZ wil never be for an individual its for the Zambian People. So Mr Kamanga and the team think again about your decision its like you have been used for something that can’t wait for next year. I hope you are not being used as a campaign tool for this years elections.

  27. There is a sponsorship issue behind this move, Simataa Sponge Bob wants to eat also, alaa Bee understands these things, it all boils down to one thing: Njala.

  28. Simata and Kamanga learn from Bin Ladin. The same way you want to destroy Kalu by unconstitutional means is the same way you will be destroyed uncontitutionally. Just wait for 2012, after all it is only 7 monyhs from now.

  29. If one reads the comments on this Kalusha subject, you can clearly see how Zambians are so DULL. Kamanga and Simata are within their rights to remove an incompetent administration which has taken Zambian soccer to the DOGS. Why should they wait for 2012 for it to go to the monkeys?
That is why organisations have constitutions which Kalusha a GRADE 12 can not understand. I hope FIFA bans Zambia so that the message can get to his thick SKULL and the rest of his supporters on this blog can understand the world has rules and regulations. If people do not want you, do the honorable thing and F….K  off. We have had enough of this saga in the name of one Kalusha to the extent that he can disrespect a honorable gentleman like  Ba Liwewe who in my world has contributed more to Zambian soccer

  30. If in the end Kamaga and Simata do not provide the leadership and administration Zambian deserve we had a right to remove them as well. Thats how the civilised world works and progress is made.

  31. If pipo want Kalu to step down then RB should also do the same on the basis that they have lost popularity. If RB finishes his mandatory term then King Kalu should also do the same. PERIOD

  32. No 34. Yes go to your MP’s and tell them to table a motion of no confidence in RB in parliament for him to step down before his term. Try to use your head to think and not your fingers. The world has rules and regulations.

  33. # 34, Imitwe Shakolwe, This is the typical Zambian excrement I was talking about here, I mean, can any one worth their five senses honestly understand the analogue this stinking monkey is trying to draw here! The lack of any logical substance in some Zambian heads is stunning, Imitwe ishi te shamano, shakolwe akalumbafye!

  34. # 29 Kaodi, Of course none of us fell from the heavens above otherwise we will be called Angels of the lord. We all came from somewhere. Suffice to say bakolwe ba kuKatanga imwe mwatusebanya over over. Everyday ifili mumutwe tapali nangi cimo kano ukwiba, adultery and Gbabgoring (clinging to power even when you have failed and people want you to vacate power).

  35. The way I see it is that Kamanga and Simata must wait to be elected into office when the current FAZ mandate for those in office ends. They should not use the back door. If they think they are so popular and have solutions to the current challenges in soccer administration in Zambia let them wait for the term of office to end and then contest the elections. Right now all they’re doing is creating confusion and putting FAZ programmes in disarray. To me, their agenda is driven by hatred and the wish for everyone to lose. There is no interest of football in their agenda because if there was they could’ve waited for the apprproiate time so that they contest the elections. This would be the best way of demonstrating their popularity if any. So please stop the rot and let the executive work.

  36. No 38 a motion of no confidence is not back door. Do not behave like a village headman that why people like Mugabe are in power its because of DULL villages like you who are always waiting for something which never comes….

  37. # 38, You must be the s’t’u’idest id’i’ot on the block and I fully agree with The Engineer above. Just how the hell could a vote of no confidence be perceived as entry through the back door? Maybe it’s the back door nature of the excrement you are raving off you are now mistaking for the noble stance of Kamanga. We cannot wait until the end of Kalusha’s term because if we do, there will be nothing left of soccer in Zambia. Imagine like if we allowed Chiluba a third term, we would have been Katanganized by now.

  38. # 40 Ngombala Muhapi wa Linaha. I do not see why you should degrade # 38. He has VERY valid points. How do you relate Kalusha’s situation to Chiluba’s third term bid? Kalusha’s term is still in place. We will have a very bad precedent if we allow Kamanga and them to take over FAZ in that manner. What if another group springs up and advocate for the same?

  39. No 41 welcome to democracy if you never understood it. Kamanga is not doing anything wrong of out of the constitution. If he was why has Kalusha not gone to court? You African need to undertand that in a civil world rules and regulation are there to guide how organisations be it companies, political parties etc. Thats why the west has developed and Africa is poor. Kalusha terms is in place yes but the FAZ constitution has provisions for him to be removed before the term if considered incompetent. Just like the constitution of Zambia allows for the removal of the president before his term by a vote of no confidence. Thats how democracies work. A number of US presidents have been removed before by a vote of no confidence. If Kamanga has enough votes to pass a vote of no confidence

  40. which am sure he has he can remove Kalusha. Just like you and i if we felt the same and had enough votes to pass the no confidence motion.
Kamanga and Co. are just exercising their constitution right. This not like running a village, this is real business.

  41. The Engineer you seem to so biased in your arguments. Its Mazambuka United who proposed the vote of no confindence and also withdrew it. No where was Kalu involved in this.Kamanga is simply a chancer who has been forced on Kabwe Worrious simply because he is well connected. The former Kabwe Worrious Chairman had to resign his position. Now you want Kalu to do the same. By the way tell us when the so called Interim Executive was formalised to become a full time Excecutive with far more powers such as forming another league. Kamanga has never been elected anywhere to become a democrat. Kalu was elected period.

  42. # 44 The logician. Thanks for the wise comment. We have alot of ” KNOW IT ALLs” on this forum. I asked a question but what do l get, lectures about democracy and how things are run in a civil world. We are not even sure if the Kamanga groups’ status is legal under the FAZ constitution. What criteria did they use to appoint them? We do not want to have leaders imposed on us.

  43. No. 44 and 46 we are tired of people in Africa over staying there welcome even when people do not want them because they are incompetent. The fact are that under Kulusha’s administration football in Zambia has good to the DOGS and its soon to go to the MONKEYS.
He may have been a good footballer but in Zambia they do not teach management at GRADE 12 level period.

  44. I personally met the national team playing South Africa in Cape Town, the famous 3-0 Zambia won the game. We happen to stay at the same hotel with the boys. Kalusha was then coach and you should have heard the stories from the boys how they had to bribe their way in the team by giving away their match fees to the so called Kalusha…

  45. IT START LIKE THIS-JUST LIKE A JOKE! NEXT TIME OTHERS SHALL FORM A PARALLEL GOVERNMENT IF WE TOLERATE THIS NONSE.

  46. Too many high bloggers today……Anyway, those power-hungry nincum-phooeys(Simataa and Kamanga) should stop their desparate moves. If they have substance, they should not be afraid of an election. For now they should do what the opposition is there for: KEEP THE RULING PARTY IN CHECK. Whats so difficult about that? …..Fo.ols!

Mind, I am not saying Galu..eh…Kalu is the best.

  47. No. 50, the constitution of Zambia does not allow any one to form a parallel government you will be charged with treason. No law in Zambia prevents anyone from forming a parallel government. The basic problem of Africans especially blacks the law mean very little, hence the ROT we have across Africa. No country has ever developed without the respect of the law. I do not support Kamanga and Co. i support their constitutional right and that someone is brave enough to kick out an incompetent  administration. Black normally do not do this kind of things we prefer to look aside and let the rot just because someone is Kalu

  48. Sorry i meant no law in Zambia prevents anyone from forming a parallel Soccer league

  49. The problem pa Zed these days is that every Jim and Jack thinks he or she is a specialist.Kalu is not the problem but greedy and selfish individuals like poverty stricken simata squared are all to blame.7 months is not a long time to wait for the next FAZ elections. What is the real motive bwana Kamanga? Please convince the football fraternity in Zambia.

  50. Please ba National Sports Council of Zambia, you have all the power to ban FAZ (utubaice utu tu bena Kalu) constitutionally. Dont be cheated, FIFA does not sponsor football in Zambia, its the Z-government (tax payers money) and respective clubs (at extremely high cost). FIFA are just being hypocritical, come June 2 2011 the Blatter mafias will be out FIFA. Blatter has even failed to go to Britain to seek surpport cos of corrupt behaviour he exihibited during 2018 and 2022 world cup hosts elections. So hes lost it. This is right time for FIFA to ban us cos in two months time there will be new executive at FIFA, who are easily going to re-instate us.

  51. #34, 35, 38, 39 Lihana hater. The RSA manke is a xenophobia. My family ran away from RSA due to xenophobia! RSA Kalu hater did you participate in that in RSA?

  52. One thing I have noticed from all these Kalu fans is that they fail to distinguish Kalusha the footballer and Kalusha the administrator. All I can see in their arguments is this guy kicking free kicks and not a person who is busy raping the FAZ constitution and has no regard for any governance issues. Funny bit though is that even learned people are busy supporting this foolishness being exhibited by this former footballer. I commend Kamanga and Simataa for standing up to this nonsense.

  53. I wonder why Mushiba did not consult with Kamanga and Simataa before he withdrew the motion. The way he went about it clearly shows what a coward he is and in my opinion a serious lack of judgment. He knew or must have known that the issue he had tabled was contentious and one which could not be withdrawn even at the mention of a threat.

  54. Oh no people now are mature and educated you cant close and squeeze them. If negotiations fail you revolt. Allow dialogue blocking it doesnt solve the problem. Forming another group is likely to destroy football in the country. Picking of national players will be very difficult. Ho about affiliation.. Oh RB make a strong stand to resolve this dont just watch. Your men can do a better job. I love you RB the real winner

  55. Engineer Chi. col.or When Zambia was beatn 3.0 by south africa Kalu was not the coach. Have your facts right M.b.o.lo. mukamwa

  56. Kamanga and simata have got so hatred in their minds, why should they just keep on insisting to run FAZ when the elections are just around the corner in 2012?
They are both ill-minded people with no morals, they just want to bring confusion in our beloved game.
Hatred will never take them anywhere but will and them into more problem!
    VIVA KALU

  57. People that are not educated have been known to use intimidation to get their way. The only way Kalu can run things is by using intimidation because he has no history in administration. He cannot sit down and discuss issues with anyone who has different views hence resorting to jungle law tactics .i.e. “kill or be killed”. Football is a team sport and all stakeholders, including those that hold different views, should be involved. It is quite clear that his enemies includes the Zambian government who are also the funders of the national team. It would have been nice to test his popularity at the AGM because it was quite clear that he was going to win.

  58. Much as I appreciate the different points of view on this matter , formation of a parallel league is a non-starter ! They should think of a more crafty solution ( like starting to campaign for 2012 ) ! Educate me as to who Mazabuka United are ? I am hearing about them for the first time !
