Southern province permanent secretary Dr Chileshe Mulenga has apologized to President Michael Sata and to the people of Choma for the delay in moving to Choma the new provincial capital of the province.
He explained that president Sata has redirected him to move to the new provincial capital.
Dr Chileshe said that it is not good that it had to take the head of state to remind him of moving into Choma.
“We shall not give the people of Choma any excuses, as we now know each other, we should not be giving excuses to the people of southern province, we are the servants of the people,” he said.
Dr Mulenga assured the people of Choma that their concerns are also the Government’s concerns.
He explained that the Southern province minister Josephine Limataa has already moved into the province and that by next he would also move his office.
And Ms Limataa said as part of the new resolution she has decided to move to Choma the new provincial capital of the province.
She promised that she would tour the province for 20 days so she could families herself with the province.
The minister explained that in her tour she would visit all the chiefdoms.
“There is no time for resting it is time to work for the people of southern province,” she said.
She said the government is already in Choma as she has relocated o the district now.
She said that the PF government loves the people of Choma and that it is committed to the development of province.
She said that the relocation of the provincial capital will create jobs for the youths in the province as a lot of construction will take place in the district.
“A lot of houses are going to be constructed for the police and the provincial administration block will create jobs for the locals and will not allow outsiders to take up the jobs for the locals,” Ms Limataa said.
She said the shifting to Choma will start but all at once as there is a challenge of accommodation for the officers.
And Choma central MP Cornelius Mweetwa called on the Government for the speedy transformation of Choma not the provincial.
He said that the people were getting inpatient with the transformation.
“The people always ask me in constituency, when will the transformation of Choma into the provincial capital going to start, I assure them we are going to start very soon,” he said.
He said that hospital was essential to the people of Choma but it is constantly being loaded shed by ZESCO every day.
PF at work. Thanks Dr. Mulenga for being pragmatic.

Bla bla bla, now that the campaign for Livingstone MP has started.
Is he going to take responsibility for the delay by resigning?
Actions should be louder than words.
Come on madam minister.
Who told you that the people of Choma need love from the government? What has love got to do with this? You need to be reprimanded for sleeping on duty. The government must set a time table for moving offices around, with clear deadlines in place.
come on then! chop! chop! and stop talking too much
Choma manu wabula manu cakulya beware
SO, PERMANENT SECRETARIES (OR, PS) NOW HAVE BODY GUARDS? IS IT IN THE CONSTITUTION THAT PERM SECs SHOULD HAVE BODY GUARDS?

And Choma central MP Cornelius Mweetwa called on the Government for the speedy transformation of Choma not the provincial.
Is job creation or what kind of this colonial culture of having a person hold a chair for a fellow man?
Who does that PS Mulenga thinks he is, to be treated like a homo-Elton John? To have a man who has a bigger thing than him to treat him like a woman?
I support the word useless. This is not making sense just shut up!
needless to jst condemn all that PF tries to do.lets develop
Chileshe, you are a senior civil servant in Govt. stop talking like a politician. Sit down and do the work.
Yes, let’s just do it. Plan well guys. I don’t like the way Zambian towns have been developing. Hapzard, confused land allocation. Develop Choma and Chinsali well!
Who gives a monkeys about wasting resources shifting provincial capitals when there are real problems on the ground. This is like spending money to paint the spare bedroom when there is no food in the kitchen and no seats in the living room. I have never seen such i.d.i.o.t.i.c decision-making by a government at this grand scale – it is shocking.
PF are the most useless government Zambia will ever have, they just talk and no action. I question myself why we even voted for these e. mbaci. Les

So many grammatical errors in this article. What type of journalists are you? You cannot edit the article before posting it?
Which doctor is this bane?? Awe what you have stated does not make any sense!! You are merely pleasing your boss and you have no agenda for southerners…. Ubo bu doctor bukapwa mukashale fye nechisungu pakanwa.. Ba provincial local govnt officer namwina… From chipata ka??
Please, feed the Kapaso!
Useless! Clean up the town first. There are heaps of garbage everywhere and plastics litter the streets. There is no clean water. Load shedding six times a day. There are no tarred roads except the Great North Road passing through the town and the new Namwala Road. With current heavy rains there is mud everywhere. The offices at the so called Civic Centre have no ceilings as the ceilings fell off years ago and the buildings themselves look like the town is emerging from a civil war! Build the new government offices first before you can think of moving. Are you going to sit under a tree? Pathetic fools! And the new town must be properly planned coupled with the expansion of other services such as water supply, sewerage, electricity, solid waste disposal, etc.
From 20 September 2010. What are you still doing in Livingstone. Choma is the provincial capital. Build your offices there and employ my relatives as sweepers in your offices. Planning is needed. You have just demostrated that you have NO PLAN.
I precisely desired to appreciate you again. I’m not certain the things I might have carried out in the absence of the type of strategies contributed by you regarding my topic.
