Sex worker convicted after stealing money from a client

Share

A 28 year old sex worker of Ndola has been convicted for stealing K28 000 from a Congolese business executive.

Ndola Magistrate Chitundu Chongo convicted Getrude Ndawa of 2246 New Mushili Township upon her own admission of guilty to the offence.

The convict on February 23 this year in Ndola stole K28 000 from her client, Kabange Masengo contrary to section 272 of the penal code chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.

The facts were that Masengo on February 22 this year came for business in Zambia and after selling his commodities, he booked a room at Atlas Hotel on Obama Complex in Masala Township and later went to Dolphin night club.

“Masengo while at the night club, met the accused who he loved and later took her to his room at the hotel where they had sex and was charged K150,” read the facts.

After sex, the complainant fell in a deep sleep and that was when the accused took K28 000 from his briefcase and put it in a plastic bag and ran away.

The complainant after waking up found the accused had left and discovered that his money was missing from the briefcase.

He later reported the case to the police and a search for the convict was carried out.

The convict was later found and when interviewed, she admitted stealing the money and said that she used it to buy a house in Kariba.

Magistrate Chongo adjourned the case to July 16 this year for sentencing and the accused remained in custody.

    • Congolese lost the game… 2 rounds knock-out!!!! Balimuchita, I am sure she is a Kaonde woman, balashingulusha, get drained and dizzed.

    • Why wasnt the Congolese convicted for solicitation of prostitution? Is prostitution now legal in Zambia?

    • @Nubian Princess – I was wondering the same thing? Why are women harassed for being prostitutes in Zambia but men who buy sex from prostitutes are left free? There is something intrinsically unfair about prostitution laws in Zambia.

    • @Nubian
      My thoughts exactly.

Also, you can buy a house for K28000? What kind of house is that?

  1. Smart Sex worker, at least she invested the money in property. I applaud her, shows that she had a long term strategy

  2. “Who he loved and later took her to his room at the hotel where they had sex and was charged K150,” read the facts”.
Is it suppose to be love or liked ?

  3. Always keep the mola with the receptionist, sex workers are serious kawalalas, they help take off the stress tho.

    • That would be tantamount to admitting you are with a prostitute – a crime in the US. Also they are smart, why would she not go to reception and say her husband sent her to pick up the money?

  4. She charged him K28,150.00. The man faked not having the balance after paying her K150.00 only. The good lady recovered the man but has ended up in the chooks!

    • She did well to balance herself up. Most of these men don’t pay them. K150 is too little especially that it was overnight. No please be fair.

  5. One of the oldest professions, prostitution. It plays a very important role in society. Balancing of nature. Remove it completely from society and you confuse the equation. The fact that they line up the streets, are found in night spots, feature on websites and are in various types means they have a client base. It is not cheap people that pick them. The client base range from businessmen, corporate executives, politicians etc who are having boring sex lives from nagging extravagant wives and girlfriends or are travelling many days away from homes. Sex workers are simply necessary but be careful with them.

  6. I think she is one of those who put poison kumabele.Am sure ba congole bena baleonka kanshi bakamba kuli poison palast kulala.Ati ukutemwa ifyakonka onka nolyo mwakula.

  7. At least people have started respecting our sisters by calling them sex workers and not prostitute. To me prostitute means ‘mahule’ for mahala while sex worker term means ‘someone working by offering a very vital service’ for money. Most of you men cannot do without this commodity just like you cannot do without water, air and booze.

  8. How easy was it for him to go round the so called Mushili area to search for a person who he claims he knew for a short period of time (night only) and she escaped but he still fetched her! Lol Congo people are not to be trusted JUJU is theirs!

  9. Ine nafyola!

Both the man and woman are supposed to be in the custody of the law. Prostitution by males and females is a crime. When was it justifiable for men prostitutes to go free in society?

  10. The basis of the case first of all was illegal: prostitution!

So why did the court entertain a case that was made out of an illegal environment?

First step charge the two for engaging in an illegal activity.

Secondly, the Congolese should not be entertained because ” he that comes to law, must come with clean hands.”

Did he come with clean hands? no! No! No!

Not supporting the prostitute, that is the law and as they say it law is an a**!!

    • First of all the courts follow what has been brought for trial the fact that there maybe other iligal activities that is for another time, the charge hear was theft and not prostitution. Secondly its very difficult to prove prostitution

  11. “Masengo while at the night club, met the accused who he loved” hahahahaha this kind reporting awe sure……sivinthu!

  12. She should have contended that the man promissed to pay the Briefcase plus its contents for the sexual encounter. But being considerate, she decided to leave the briefcase and only take the contents. There would have been no witness to say no or yes as they were only two of them.

  13. I think she must not be convicted, she was on duty i bet that calls for all the insurance that comes with the Job, if you calculate everything, that amount is not even enough, plus retirement fee umomwine, i say she retired early evidence is there the HOUSE.

  14. Up front charger of 150 z (29 $ or 22 euros). This is too small for a busy over night. In Frankfurt down town it is 40 euros for BJ. Nairobi it is expensive there.

  15. There is no law against prostitution in Zambia, Norway is the only country I know where prostitution is illegal. Many countries only outlaws soliciting of sex in public or advertising for sex in public. The Congolese had a every right to ask for sex in privacy and there was an agreement between the two. Human rights are universal regardless of one’s nationality. How many of you Zambians enjoy Zimbabwean and Congolese women at Bulawayo in Chawama? Politicians especially in PF are the worst.

  16. Ati nagging wives! These same sexually starved wives turn to your drivers, garden boys and your young nephews for “sex back ups” because of your being “expired” after sex with prostitutes. If you notice your house boy takes odd minutes each time you summon him for an errand, this arrogance may be reflective of the fact that you drink from the same well Baaba.

  17. The girl is a commercial sex worker but the man cannot be in trouble as he picked her up from a night club and if you read well he said he loved her when he saw her at the night club which means he didn’t pick her up from the street so he cannot be prosecuted for picking up a prostitute as most of you here are suggesting.

  18. ZP at work. K28000 and they will call off leave to search and find the thief. But report a stolen stereo system, oh my god. We have no transport, no officers on duty etc.

  19. fika kapokola fya mu zambia, useless! cases that involve money they work at supasonic speed. Fya chabechabe fye
