President Michael Sata today launched the Luapula province vaccine cold storage chains in Mansa district.
President Sata, who was accompanied by Community Development, Mother and Child Health Minister Joseph Katema and Minister of Education John Phiri among others, unveiled the plaque of the provincial vaccine cold storage chains this morning.
The President took time to inspect the facility which is situated at the Luapula Province Medical Offices at the Mansa General Hospital.
The facility was launched to support the extended programmes on immunization in the country.
And Dr. Katema observed that vaccine cold storage chains are a cornerstone in the provision of immunization services in the country.
He said vaccine cold storage chains are important facilities as they guarantee optimal storage and effectiveness in the prevention of diseases from a public health perspective.
The minister said the launch of the vaccine cold storage equipment is the manifestation of the excellent collaboration that exists between government and its partners in the health sector.
Dr. Katema added that the launch of vaccine cold storage room will increase the capacity of the vaccine cold store chain at provincial and national levels.
And Luapula Province Medical Officer Mathews Ng’ambi said the coming of the vaccine cold storage room in the province will help in the storage of vaccines for preventable diseases.
Dr. Ng’ambi said the official commissioning of the facility by President Sata has come at the right time when there was talk about the lack of vaccines in the province.
He said with the coming of the vaccine cold storage, there will be no shortages of vaccines.
The new vaccine cold storage is a state of the art store room for vaccines which has been donated by the World Health Organization at a total cost of US$200,000 to support the extended programmes on immunization in the country.
Three out of five causes of sickness in children in Luapula province are preventable.
Recently President Sata, at the opening of parliament said his vision was to see to it that no child dies from preventable diseases in the country.

How convinient that this facility is being launched in election time! Mansa people twapapata don’t be fooled by this…..you will never see or hear from this man after the elections and there will be no more development util there is another election. Vote for the opposition!
Dont worry you are . a . nonentity
Just vote sata in 2016 and shut it
You dont know what politics in Africa is.The opposition can do the same if there were in governmnt. The MMD used to do the same!!
Lt show pic of the storage building & not face of sata ,is the garage the storage facility?
why is the president walking with his hands behind his back,,, was he in handcuffs??
You two people above my comment sucks.Whats wrong with you bafik ala ? Why is it that everytime Sata does something good you tend to dwell on irrelevant issues, questions and discussion ? Ma tall lay yanu.
@Ndobo…he should be!
He is a great man !
What’s tireless working president. Reminiscent of us bembas
2016 you have our vote all here in diaspora
We are happy so far
How strange that Sata kept quiet and said nothing throughout this event.
@Ndobo, man be kind, who would want to arrest Sata? The man is suffering enough… He is walking so SORROWFULLY, a very miserable man, you can’t simply insult Zambian Bemba Chiefs. A man who insults Bemba chief kano fye chinkula.
Sata watches those Nigerian Igwes in Ukwa movies with ka Chella in the dinning room and he thinks those can be compared to real Zambian Chiefs, look at him, one more time, scroll up and give him another glance… so sad.
The first pic looks like of people coming out of a mortuary, the second looks like a funeral. Zambia is indeed a sad place!!!
A picture speaks volumes
Broken-down Land cruiser cold vaccine storage ?
Use your common sense iwe.
Me thinks it was a cold stare facility…….isn’t that always the look on Sata’s face?
I love it.This is the way to go.The story of my late aunt and how she used to store her insulin in the reeds just by the river bank still makes my blood to boil inspite of the number of years that have passed since ever since she narrated her story.Vaccines storage’s will indeed go a long way in preserving human life.
So sorry, must have been a very hard life for her…is this what people in villages go through.
@Mambala yes thats what they go through.Like in her case she used to teach in a school in an outlying area of Luapula so she had no option but to be doing that.
@Saulosi, your auntie is a hero, very inspiring not to give up. Reeds storage is good advise to others, but storing in a cray pot do a good job too.
However, that cold-storage Mansa is not for insulin naimwe Ba Saulosi. Don’t just make us kind sad like Sata, ukukumfwila uluse, I mean how can one be traveling from Milenge to Mansa to get insulin from a cold-storage. And Insulin is not a vaccine.
@Nostradamus…i know the difference naimwe. If there is a man who can tell you more about insulin and vaccines it is me because my bread and butter comes from there.I`m basically talking about cold storage facilities and it doesn’t matter if it is vaccines, drugs like insulin or serum stored there.
And why was he commissioning a DONATED facility, was he sent by WHO to do so on their behalf?
Spot the Urine bag competition, $100, for anyone who gets it right.
Useless bloggers like you disgusts me.Instead of positively contributing to this you just decided to contribute drivel.Smh
@Kay, a woman like you should have some kind of respect to men, even if the man is bizarre.
Urine bag iya banonko ka putting on pampers
Look at the left thigh. He has a rectangle wallet in his pocket. I like this and he put on safari suites. KK loved safari suites because there is no way of hanging and tie your neck. I love this.
I believe Sata’s suit is called a “Nehru Suit” and not a Safari Suit
seleni tubombeko, may God Guide our president for the good projects we are seeing, us who have eyes to see.
sure!
Mwalanda ba Zambia!!
@shootist,I didn’t attack sata but Lt,a pic is worthy a 1000,words.if u flag depicts ur actual residence, then u know what CNN,mns ,fox,ABC,and your local state channel show or your local print media shows.for your own record ,sata knows me personally as we were neighbors in Avondale & my parents are serving in pf gov’t.avoid use of insults man.
There is a lot that is said about people who find the use of insults as a means of communication. Severe limitation in their vocabulary. Failure to express themselves and think insults is the utimate in communication. Its primitive!
A picture of two wrecks. Setting is everything in photography. I get the photographers point. By the way Ba LT, its been a while since you showed us weeked photos or any event photos for that matter
Wansekesha. Ati two wrecks. Lol!
fyabupuba fye the whole lot of a president to go to mansa to inspect broken cars! does it make any sense. even the convict masumba cant do that demeaning thing. the other time he was blasting gayi sikoti over second hand cars from japan. is it a gvt police to inspect broken cars instead of new car assembly plants? inconsistent spiting of Vernon mr cobra
Ndobo i see the President is acting like he was forced to go there against his will, no
sign of excitement .that garage is any eyesore, that in USA is called a junkyard and not a garage
You cant even visit your sick mother because you have no money sha!!!!
I didn’t know there was a vaccine for cold stares .Give bwana Sata some of it so he could quit his cold stares and smile more often.
They will always find something for him to commission even when there is nothing. Ne nsoni shalipwa.
The state of that car he is walking past is a very clear state of the erratic lumpen’s mind and govt., broken down. And if you look carefully on his left leg, you can see his saturated stinking urine “kachola” protruding!
Why shall President commission Vaccine Storage facility during his campaign visit to Mansa? is it not against model election code of conduct? He shall be reprimanded for that and if (and BIG IF) PF candidate wins, opposition shall take this to High Court for nullification of PF seat and barring him from any future elections.
CHAILEFYE KU CAMPAIGN. WHY WAIT ALL THIS LONG? NOT EASY TO BE PRESIDENT. A LEADER WHO CANNOT FACE THE MEDIA AND ADDRESS THE NATION. SHAME. KAUNDA ALETEKA PERIOD.
but aba niba president zooona!!
He is comparable to non!! He is so far the best president Zambia has ever had.
The man (Sata) looks sickly. Imagine him in his birthday suit he must be bones, a walking skeleton. He looks as if he was forced to be there. His eyes look tired too.
If he is sick, so what??
Sata has a far away stare-an absent look in his eyes. He’s never present!
He always works tirelessly to insure the economy of the country booms.
Check his pockets; always bulky. What is he carrying in the pockets. Is pieces of fish bought for him at Tuta Bridge?
The whole of the President commissioning such a small thing-A COLD STORAGE? This can be simply commissioned by an MP or District Commissioner.
Donation from the WHO??By Elections are around the corner, honestly is he not asramed. …can’t GRZ prioritize and have a dozen of these across the country. Even cargo containers can be converted to ultramodern solar powered cold rooms and placed at clinic posts.
Kim jong former north korea dictator. Mobutu. Sata . Wearing same kind of suites. Why?
Malaria guy dont lie here ati sata is the best president? You are trying to hard if he was any good gud he would not be destroying the country to this level everybody speak ill of bemba people because of him hes not even bemba so please keep your panga bull in your cadre sector I m sure you respected in your iwn kaponya way
Bawesu Dr. Kaingu warned you that be prepared to be INSULTED when Mr. SATA comes.
Today’s POST NEWSPAPER carries an article of SATA calling you Luapula people PROSTITUTES.
Bawesu, are you sure there’s more prostitution in Luapula than Lusaka, Southern and Copperbelt provinces?
Please bawesu NATUTONTONKANYEPO. Even the death of our Man FTJ CHILUBA yalitusha icilonda. we cant easily forget his death.
The COLD STORAGE launched is simply a donated project worth K1.14bn (in old real currency) which could have been commissioned by the DC and the Deputy Mayor of Mansa but it has taken the all lot of Govt officials to travel to Mansa at Tax payers’ money to come and cheat you that they are developing Luapula. please VOTE wisely. give the PF a PROTEST VOTE for calling you AMAULE
Sata pachinso kwati bali kuchililo lyonse bena! The pictures in the article and the content of the article do not match at all, ka journalism kapa Evelyn Hone College tesana mwe!
USELESS BLOGGERS WITH NO RESPECT TO THEIR HEAD OF STATE CHECK THE AMERICANS COMMENTS ON THEIR PRES AND COMPARE TO YOURS ……THATS WHY AFRICA
The presidential dresser should do a better job than making Mr Sata look odd in that dress. Its new culture of long boubous.
The title is misleading ATI “President Sata Inspects his latest vehicle in the pic”
Looking at that picture I think the story would have made better sense if it was about Sata ‘breaking ground’ for construction of a decent garage
No one was close enough apart from the body guard as they where all scared of abusive language from the big man, icho president micheal chilufya mwinelubemba chitimukulu sata among his titles. Paba insele pali shikulu uyu.
Picture # 2 speaks volumes….!!
