President Michael Sata has called on Zambians living in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to work hard and contribute to their country’s economic development.

Speaking in Kinshasa last night when he met Zambians living in DRC at the official residence of the Zambia’s Ambassador to that country, Fidelis Kapoka, President Sata said there were a lot of Congolese nationals living in Zambia whom he said were doing very fine with regards to business and contributing to national development.

He said that it was important that Zambians living in the DRC emulate their colleagues by working hard.

ZANIS reports that President Sata said Zambians should use their presence in the DRC to market their country back home.

He emphasized that there was no time for Zambians living in DRC to be lazing around but time to work hard and make money.

President Sata further charged that Zambians and Congolese should partners in trade and work together to improve their countries’ economies.

President Sata, who is accompanied by First Lady Dr. Christine Kaseba, his Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations George Chellah, arrived in Kinshasa yesterday for the 17th Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) summit for heads of state and government.

The summit, which opens today at the African Union Villa, is being held under the theme ‘consolidating intra COMESA trade through micro, small and medium entrepreneur development’.

There are 19 COMESA members countries among them Zambia, Congo, Uganda and Burundi.

  2. From a taxi triver to an ambassodor. no wonder we have yusilesi ministers and ambassadors. enjoy your money before PF is kicked out in 2016.

  3. I SENCE DANGER HERE WHY HAS FROM NOWHERE SATA INTRODUCED THIS TRICK OF HOLDING CHILDREN WHILE WALKING?THE CHURCH SHOULD STOP THIS VERY DANGEROUS LIFE RISKING TREND BY SATA

  4. I think the best picture would have been of him interacting with fellow Presidents and Prime Ministers. His position is synonymous with that of an economic and network ambassador, hence, it would have been nice to see a picture of him with Kabila, Joyce Banda or Museveni. He always gravitates towards people that are most likely to worship him.

  5. The problem is that tribalism is like accusations around witchcraft. It has no objective criteria. The accuser is the referee and the judge. Zambians are however becoming wiser by the day- a tribe can not feed you, but good governance and prudent management can.

  6. UPND will want to bring war to Zambia when they lose in 2016 – but we will defeat them there too. Because we are Zambia, we are One Zambia one Nation.

UPND, its leaders and followers have rebelled against there own and only country but we will never allow them to destroy our Zambia.

They only preach hate! Zambia and Zambians do not know hate.

  7. Did he have to go to Congo to say this? Why doesn’t he just say it on his Facebook page?
Here is a President who cannot face his people in his country, but spends millions of taxpayer’s money to travel out of the country to address people who may not even legally be Zambians, face to face!
I have no more words to describe Zambia’s fifth President. I can only pray that God may rest him soon and spare us the agony we have endured as a nation from this most arrogant of all people.

  8. Human beings will never appreciate, if he didn’t go they would still continue crying foil. He could have gone there to meet with his counter part, the presidents of that country, to discuss and find everlasting solutions for violence at the boarder post…lets be appreciative and support our Head of State..Way to go HE

  9. Where he’ MATE’……….consequences of exam leakages. Failing to grasp such simple grammar. Even more shameful someone suggests that the writer should use bemba to report. Why sink so low as to suggest bemba as an alternative?

    • The official language in all Zambian embassies is Bemba. What do you expect from people who eat their kinsmates(monkeys)
